If It's Not Me

Chapter 29 Who's Coming?

When Janice saw Daniel looking straight into her eyes, she didn't know why, but her heart started pounding. She looked away subconsciously. Just as she wanted to say that she didn't know, the scene where he stood up for her and Denise in the kindergarten flashed across her mind. What he said at that time seemingly resonated in her ears as well. "How dare a mere Murphy touch my wife and child?" This was what shook her heart. He wasn't afraid of the rich and protected his family, disregarding everything else. Most importantly, he gave out a strong sense of security. At this moment, she felt as though she was a grass swaying in the strong wind. All of a sudden, a big tree fell from the sky, becoming her safe harbor. Even Janice didn't know that she was slowly treating Daniel as her support before she knew it. "It's no use even if I believe you. You need to find a way to clear your name quickly," she said while lowering her head. After that, she quickly turned around and left as though she was running away from him. When Daniel saw her running to Denise with her blushing face while lowering her head to watch TV with Denise, the corners of his mouth curled up involuntarily. She was right; he needed to quickly clear his name for what happened ten years ago. It couldn't be dragged any longer. At night, he left right away after putting Denise to sleep. He then asked Phantom to notify William that he would pay the man a visit tomorrow, for he wanted to ask him to pass the Sky Project's advertising to Janice's company. The next morning, after Phantom drove Daniel to Sky Project's interim office building, she left just as he instructed. On the other hand, when Ingrid heard that William had arrived in Goldshore, she immediately provided the highest floor for him. It was obvious that she hadn't given up on bagging the project just yet. Meanwhile, William had received Phantom's notification and was already waiting at the elevator. When Kyle White from the project department heard that William wanted him to pick up a person together, he was shocked to the core. He asked in confusion, "Mr. Hayes, can't we wait in the office?""No, we need to wait here," William said while waving his hand. Had Daniel not ordered him specifically to keep their relationship under wraps, he would've already ran downstairs to wait in the lobby. However, Kyle stood to the side and widened his eyes when he heard William's answer. He even suspected that he had heard it wrongly, for William was the wealthiest person in Southland. There were only a handful of people that could let him wait at the elevator door. Even the top-level leaders were brought into the office by the receptionist to meet him. But now, why was he here to personally welcome someone? Just how scary was this person's status? Kyle stood aside quietly and was very curious about the person that could let William step out to welcome him. Shortly after, the elevator rose quickly and stopped at their floor. Subconsciously, Kyle stopped breathing and wanted to see who was the person coming here. Ding dong! The elevator's door opened, and a young man with cold features walked out of the elevator. His black eyes were extremely calm, but he was giving out a strange chilliness. "Lo… Mr. Hardon." William walked up to the man with a smile. He wanted to address him as Lord Hades but suddenly remembered that there was an outsider here, so he quickly changed his greeting. As William bowed and greeted the man with a blandish smile on his face, horror crawled all over Kyle's face. He had been working with William for so many years, but had never seen him treat someone with so much respect. At the same time, he recognized that the man in front of him was Daniel, the same Daniel that was currently making Goldshore into chaos. He was also the son of the Hardon Group ten years ago, as well as a rapist.
