When I looked at Dominic's demeanor, I had the impression that he was an imposter as well. Moreover, I couldn't help but shiver when I saw the aggrieved expression on his face. Oh yeah, don't forget to check out of the room too.” After that, a smile spread across his face as he bent over to caress my face and kiss me.“Okay. Is there anything else or do you want something to eat? I'll bring it over as well.” I then shook my head in daze and replied, “No.” “All right. Be a good girl and rest well. I'll be back soon.” Rendered speechless by his words, I could only push him away and quickly burrow myself under the quilt. Hurry up and go! I feel like I'm gonna puke if I look at you any longer. The nausea was not because of my pregnancy. Rather, it was because I was cringing at Dominic's action. After that, I closed my eyes and lay on the bed quietly. I could feel a weight on the quilt as a hand gently caressed my face. Dominic tucked in the quilt and gave me a kiss on the cheek. Soon after, the sound of the door closing could be heard. It wasn't until I had confirmed that Dominic wasn't in the room that I gradually opened my eyes.Although the curtains were drawn, the room wasn't dark as there was a gap large enough for sunlight and fresh air to enter. Furthermore, all the lights in the room were switched off, except for the one light beside the door. Dominic was considerate and thoughtful of everything. However, I couldn't help but sigh at that. I always had the impression that there was something strange between us. Whenever things seemed to be going well, something bad would happen. Although we couldn't meet each other when Dominic was abroad, we still called each other on the phone every day. I also felt that our relationship was progressing slowly. However, as soon as Dominic came back from abroad, our relationship deteriorated instead. When I thought of this, I couldn't help but pat my belly and mutter, “My dear baby, mom really cherishes you very much. However, you're born at an unfortunate time. Your mom and dad aren't having a good time right now, so please don't blame me if you become the child of a single mother in the future.” The longer I talked to the baby in my belly, the more I realized I shouldn't be saying these things to an unborn child. As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed Dominic sitting on the couch while looking at the computer. The room I was in seemed to be a VIP single room.After waking up, I felt a little hungry. “Dominic.” Dominic immediately turned his head and looked at me when I said his name. “You're awake? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere else?” He pushed away his computer and walked over to my side. After that, he sat down on the bed and gently stroked my face. I shook my head and said, “I'm fine. It's just that I'm feeling hungry right now.” A slight smile appeared across his face. “All right. Hang in there. I'll arrange for some food to be delivered to us.” I nodded gently and asked again, “When did you come back? Did you get enough rest? Oh right, where's my phone?” Dominic turned around and walked toward the desk. When he turned around to face me again, there was a phone in his hand. “You don't need to worry about me. I've gotten more than enough rest, and here's your phone. However, try not to be on the phone too long as it emits some radiation. Do you want to eat some fruits? I'll go out and get some for you.” I wasn't craving fruits at first, but it sounded tempting when he mentioned it, and I felt like eating pitaya. After telling Dominic about it, he immediately complied with my request and went out to get some. Only then did I take a look at my phone. While staring at my phone, I wondered if I should tell my mother about the pregnancy. After hesitating for a while, I ultimately decided against it. They're still out having fun, and I might upset them with the news. Perhaps it'll be better to wait for their return and assess the situation then. As for Shannon, I should keep it a secret from her as well. Otherwise, she'll most likely rush here right away. I guess this is my plan for now. I still need to give Nicholas and my director a call about my no-show on set today, but I don't have the latter's phone number. Plus, I really should inform them since I'm going to be in the hospital for a couple more days. After dialing Nicholas' number, the call went through fairly quickly. However, it was Jake who answered the call. He told me that the media was currently interviewing Nicholas and Scarlett. Upon hearing that, I felt an immediate sense of relief. Although I was a nobody that wouldn't draw any attention, I still could not help worrying. Now that things turned out this way, I need not worry anymore. Hence, I immediately asked Jake to convey my messages about asking for leave and promptly hung up the call once that was done. After doing that, I had nothing else to do, so I pondered for a moment before going online shopping. Whenever I would browse online shops in the past, I would come across many beautiful maternity dresses. Now, I had a valid reason to purchase them, and I felt rather excited. I browsed for a long while and added every dress that caught my eye to the shopping cart. However, I was so engrossed in shopping that I proceeded to search for children's clothes and started browsing again.I don't think I can control myself anymore. All of the clothes are so cute, especially the ones for baby girls! I was too engrossed in shopping to the extent that I did not notice Dominic and Calvin had entered the room. It wasn't until my phone was snatched away that I finally came to my senses. After that, Dominic's voice could be heard. “What are you looking at?”
