I did not want to entertain James, so I pulled Shannon and walked toward the door. Refusing to give up, he caught up and blocked our way. It was evident on his face that he wanted to gossip. I felt speechless looking at him. Regardless of anything, he is still the president of Galaxy Corporation. What is he doing looking like a paparazzi now? If he wants to know anything, he could ask Dominic. Why is he bugging me? However, I knew he would not let me leave unless I said something. Given no other option, I uttered awkwardly, “Mr. Dalton, you're after the wrong person. I'm not the female lead in the 'act of life and death farewell' you said. For specific details, you would need to ask the people involved. If you can't find Dominic, you can try asking Camille Madison. You know her too. As for now, I still have things to do, so please excuse me.” Once I finished talking, I walked around him quickly to head out, not forgetting to call Shannon along. As soon as I was out of Galaxy Corporation, I let out a deep breath in relief. James could ask anyone for gossip, as long as the person was not me. After eating dinner with Shannon, we went back home separately. We were meeting up again the next day to visit Nicholas. Nothing special happened, and we managed to meet Nicholas smoothly. I dared not open the door wide, afraid that the people outside would find out that Nicholas was in the room. I only wanted you to visit Grandma on my behalf and bring the food over, plus watch her finish the food. Her room is just beside mine. Jake, bring Shannon over.” Patting her chest, Shannon assured, “Don't worry. I will make sure that Mrs. Scott finishes everything.” On the other hand, Jake was reluctant to leave. He pursed his lips and asked, “What about you? Let Shannon go herself. I'll accompany you here.” Hearing his response, I felt like chuckling. Jake still treated Nicholas like a porcelain doll, as always. Nicholas remained composed. “Shannon has never met my grandmother. It's better if you go along with her. Moreover, Liliana is here with me. Everything will be fine.” Jake shot me a doubtful glance, evidently distrusting me. I rubbed my nose awkwardly without uttering a word. In the end, it was Shannon who could not bear the silence and pulled Jake away without another word. As such, we could still hear Jake's loud swearing voice, even when the door was closed. These dishes look and smell delicious. While feeding Nicholas, I chatted with him, even asking him about Monica's condition. As she was old, I wondered if she was recovering well. Besides, I had not seen her for quite some time, so I was rather worried. Our initial plan was to visit Monica then Nicholas. However, she was doing her checkup when we arrived, so we came to see Nicholas first.I was glad to hear from him that the elderly woman was recovering well. Although she had to stay for a period in the hospital, she was generally all right. Hearing him say that, I felt more at ease. Regardless, I would still visit her later. Did Mrs. Scott finish her food?” When I did not hear a reply and saw the odd expression on Nicholas' face, I turned my head around. It was then I saw Dominic standing by the door with an icy expression on his face.
