Seeing Dominic fall because of Camille had me gasping for air. As everyone could guess, there was nothing behind them at all. I had no idea how many levels Gloria Building had. It did, however, have at least ten floors. Anyone who fell from here would almost certainly lose their life. Fortunately, Dominic was able to steady himself on the edge. Camille, on the other hand, was suspended in mid-air. She did not drop to the ground since Dominic had caught her. When I saw a few officers arrive to save them, Shannon held me up before my knees buckled. With my right hand, I held Shannon firmly. I placed my left hand on my chest, just over my heart. Even with my thick winter garments on, I could feel my heart pounding rapidly. But it nearly felt like it was going to come to a halt the instant Dominic was about to fall. “Thank goodness. Everything is fine now. I was nearly scared to death. Are you feeling okay, Liliana?” Shannon spoke directly into my ear. I nodded briefly before shaking my head. Well, it's only fair that I give thanks for the fact that everything is all right. Immediately after Camille was rescued, she fell unconscious. Even still, she clung firmly to Dominic. However, the only thing I could see was the blood on the back of his hands. I didn't think much about it and walked right over. “You're hurt. Are you in any other pain?” Dominic did not seem very well mentally. It was possible he was still reeling from the trauma of a life or death situation. Even so, that didn't stop him from smiling down at me. “I suppose I was scratched just now. It's not serious. Don't worry. How about you? Are you hurt?” I shook my head as my eyes welled up with tears.Dominic and Camille walked away together soon after because the latter didn't let go of him. Shannon and I moved slightly slower and were left behind. When we arrived, there weren't many people left on the ground floor. They were most likely evacuated. Still, I noticed Camille's mother. She was sobbing uncontrollably. They all boarded the ambulance together. Despite the fact that everything was over, I was extremely heartbroken. It was hard to understand what the purpose of all this was. I could not understand how Camille was able to go to such extremes. How could she abandon her entire family for Dominic? Or do I not love him enough, considering that I could initiate a breakup so effortlessly? But it doesn't make sense. I'm aware of my feelings for Dominic. I wouldn't have missed him for five years if I hadn't loved him so much. When it comes to the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, Dominic is the only one who comes close. However, there were many things that people could not control. Because I loved him so much, I didn't want to cause him any problems. It was the same for me as well. I still had a family. I couldn't abandon them for the sake of my own romance. Even though he's my one true love, he'd have to stay at the bottom of my heart. After all, I'm sure I won't be the only person who's unable to be together with their other half. “Liliana, are you okay? Why are you crying?” “It's nothing. I'm not crying. My eyes were just irritated. Have you finished picking your fruits? Let's go have some seafood there.” Shannon's voice brought me back to reality. Hah, I was overthinking to the point where I couldn't hold back my tears. Not wanting to worry her, I hurriedly wiped my tears away and changed the subject.“Jeez, I really don't know what I can say to you.” I turned around and smiled back at her. “I'm fine, so don't worry. We were all startled today. Let's go take a breather, little one!” Shannon had a good grasp of who I was. She no longer brought up the topic. “Little one? I am a year older than you are. You're the little one here!” I chuckled and held her arms. “Yes, yes, I am the little one. Let's go.” Now that the incident was over, we proceeded to shop cheerfully. After dinner, Shannon left once we rescheduled to visit Nicholas. I was drained after today's terrifying experience. I went to bed early after taking a shower and watching some news. The next day, the incident was all over the news. They kept the identity of the person secret. They might have been concerned about her privacy.Knowing that my parents wouldn't have to know and worry about this made me feel better. I also didn't want to inquire about Dominic and Camille's well-being. They should be able to handle it adequately. James contacted me after I spent two days at home sketching. In order to finalize the roles, he requested that I observe the audition tomorrow. The year was about to end. They were getting ready to start shooting officially after the New Year's holiday. I agreed without hesitation. I was ready to notify Shannon when she sent me a WhatsApp message requesting me to attend the audition as well. As a result, we decided to go together tomorrow. It was the same conference room with the same people this time. The only difference was that Dominic wasn't there. I assumed he was still working on Camille's issue. He had to provide her with additional comfort since she was willing to die for him. However, I didn't get the same sense of excitement from watching the actors one by one as I did the last time around. A couple of names on the name list had already been circled by me. Still, something seemed to be missing. I looked over at the empty seat next to me instinctively. Then, I shook my head and laughed as I realized I was overthinking again. This time around, there weren't many people who auditioned, and it only took half an afternoon for it to be a wrap. After everyone left, the director told us to select the male and female leads, as well as the male and female co-stars. Originally, there were no male and female co-stars in the comics. They were only added after editing. I didn't have strong feelings about the male and female co-stars. Though I liked the choices, they were not very good actors. Still, they were attractive, so that made up for it. It wasn't difficult for me to choose the female lead because I had already lived the character's life. I might as well just play the role. However, I didn't mind having a somewhat different female lead. The male lead, on the other hand, had me in a dilemma. I had the impression that no one could ever play Dominic other than himself. However, since the director was waiting on the side, I had to reluctantly choose a few candidates. There can only be one Dominic in this world. As I was about to leave, James asked me to wait for him. Naturally, Shannon came with me as I waited. He returned quickly after sending off the producer and director. “Liliana, my dear. I heard you and Dominic had a dramatic life and death situation.” I was immediately rendered speechless.
