*Pierre* I spotted Merna going through a portal. My following had ended, there was no way I could make a portal and follow her. Taking this opportunity, I went to the bathing room, and from there I decided to get something to eat. I was sitting down with the rest of the hunters, “What are you doing sitting around here?” Hassun said to me. Swallowing the content that was in my mouth, “Merna portalled out of here, I can’t follow her!” “Do you not know how to open a portal?” Hassun seemed to be pissed off. I motioned my head to reply with a no, swallowing the food in my mouth, “that is for magical individuals!” A slur of colourful words came out of Hassun’s mouth. “Since your assignment has left, you will be training on how to create portals.” A piece of food missed my mouth and fell back into my bowl. I must have had a puzzling expression of confusion when Hassun started to laugh. “If we had not bumped you up so quickly, you would have been given lessons on this. And we would have realised we forgot the basics with you.” *Merna* “Mother!” I announced my presence. I heard my mother's voice long before I could see her. “There is my favourite child!” “I really wish you wouldn’t do that!” Embarrassed by my mother, “you should not say such things!” Embracing me for a hug, “I only speak the truth!”She kissed my cheek one at a time. Repeating her, I kissed the side of her face once each. “Sometimes I wish you were more forthcoming with the truth though!” I said as we unlocked our arms from each other. She placed her hands on my shoulder, extending her arms, “Sometimes things are best not said until the proper time.” I made my attempt at growling, “It can still be frustrating though!” I understood what she was saying, but I did not have to like it.Mother sighed, “I understand what you are meaning, but I will still stand by my actions. If I said everything to you, you would start to rebel, you are bullheaded that way.” “I would not!” I crossed my arms playfully in front of me. Mother started to laugh, “You and Chaos are meant for each other!” She motioned for me to sit, “bullheaded and do not listen to any advice given.” I dropped my jaw ready to protest. Mother started to giggle, “see! If I told you everything you would become stubborn and fight every word that I speak.” My arms were still crossed when I lifted them and allowed them to drop., “My stubbornness is my best quality!” With all seriousness, “It is also your worst enemy as well. You get in your way and will not budge until you decide to move. Out of all of my creations you are the most thick headed.” Mother exhaled, “you have to learn by experiencing things for yourself on your own time. Which is why you are here.” Mother materialized two chairs, motioning with her hand, “Sit! Tell me how my dear brother is treating you?” “He is tolerable!” I glared briefly at the direction I had just come from. “Chaos is pitching the biggest fit I have witnessed. It was not like I could say to him … eh I had this dream and I want to go and check out its validity. Do you care if I bounce around the universe for a day or so?” I uncrossed my arms, “I had to tell Chaos’s sons that I was coming to visit you.” I tilted my head to the side and raised one finger in the air, “which technically was not a lie, I am visiting you.” Mother huffed, “your terminology one day will get you in trouble!” Mother shook her head back and forth, “What was your dream about?” Taking my set, “Short or long version?” Mother nodded, “To save my ears, shorter version!” She smiled at me. I had a feeling that she already knew what I was going to tell her. We both giggled before I started to speak. “I was told that there are beings that were locked up by your siblings. They had been wrongfully convicted of a crime that did not happen or they did not commit. It was a coup to get them out of the way. I think I can break them out of the bonds that hold them in their cell.” Mother brought her hands together, “You are not wrong!” She confirmed what I had spoken. I continued with my story, “I have this feeling that I can get to them and free them!” I smiled, “I saw how to do it in my dreams!”Mother gave me a sideway glance, “I applaud your enthusiasm!” “I sense a but is to come!” I waited for her to speak. She had on her very serious face, “You have to understand that many if not all of them have been locked away for billions, trillions of aeons. Their demeanour probably has changed. What they were, may not be as they are now. If you do proceed which I know you, you will! Daughter, be very careful.” I understood what she was telling me. Isolation changes species unless that is their nature. “You have seen … what I have?” Nodding, “I am sure of it!” She sighed, “I miss my brothers and sisters, but events have transpired, things are not as they should be.” Mother placed her hand on mine, “remember, if there is anyway to deal with this besides killing them do so! After all, they are kin … regardless of how horrendous they have acted.” “I understand what you are getting at. There is going to be death … you understand that? And what about those imprisoned …” I asked my creator, “Are you telling me I should ignore their pleas? For Justice!” Patting my hand, “You are a very talented child, who seeks for the truth, justice and retribution. They speak to you because unlike others, you will dare to break the chains that have held many down. What you have to realise is that once they were wronged, by releasing them, they may turn out to be more disastrous than any good.” “I will proceed with a great deal of caution,” I emphasized. “If you do things properly … you will either give Chaos an army or you will have doomed every creation that is living and nonliving.” My mother gave me a kiss on my forehead, “Think before you act!” Materializing keys, “You will need these!” In my hands, I heard a ring of keys, each of them appeared to be the same, yet each had a different energy signature. Looking at the keys then to my face, “Do I need to explain how to work these?” I had seen how to work these keys in my dreams. With the keys in my hand, I could see what I needed to do. “It gives me more of a direct link to the areas in the universe. This should make my portaling fast and efficient.” “Now go before you run out of more time!” Mother gave me one last hug and a kiss. *Ashur* I was getting ready to do my next task when my father asked me, ‘Have you seen Merna?’‘She wanted to go and visit her mother, so I gave her the permission to do so. I didn’t think you would mind.’ I kept my tone flat since my father seemed to be on edge and would not respond well to any hostility. Sighing, ‘When did she leave?’ He inquired. ‘A while ago! She was to be back before the moon was at high peak!’ I replied, ‘that was part of the agreement!’ I could feel my father's irritation through the link, ‘Merna should be safe as long as she is going to her mother and back again.’ We were probably thinking the same thing, Merna’s safety. ‘I will be back shortly after the high peak, if Merna is not back by then, I will go and collect her.’ I told my father. ‘No need I will get her myself!’ My father informed me, ‘I will give her a lot of time you said, and nothing more!’ I could tell that my father was fighting the urge to go there now and pick Merna up. The need to have her near was almost unbearable. ‘The group that I have selected is ready, I will be finished soon enough!’ Things were starting to become busy for us. Training has picked up and schedules have changed to suit the upcoming battle. My party was scouting the East side while my brother and kin had taken the other sections. The hunt was not for human borns but those trespassing onto our land, we were going for bigger fish this time. It was well known that the East was not as busy, though we were not going to take any chances. Knowing how things have been going It would not surprise me that the night was fruitless. Most of the activity seemed to be in the western region. Sometimes we would find the northern territories active. The area that my brother was scouting with his crew. Tonight we will find out who will have all of the action.
