You Were Warned
Master After my event with my sister in the dungeons, I was hunting down Merna. After going to several locations where she tends to hide, failing to link with Merna, panic seeped into my soul. I thought I was way past these emotions that a schoolboy has when they meet their mate. Yet once again in my existence, I find myself going through all of the emotions I swear I would never experience again. I linked to my sons. I was a little upset when I was informed that Merna had left to visit her mother. I was going to stomp over to Pirapancam domain to retrieve Merna when I started to rethink my actions. What harm is there in parents and offspring spending time together? Plus I did not want to listen to Pirapancam giving me an ear full about interrupting her quality time with her daughter. I glanced up at the atmosphere above, the moon was nearing the high peak. Just as I was about to mind-link Merna and remind her of the agreement a portal appeared. “You are cutting it close, do not you think!” I spoke more harshly than I tended to. Merna glanced up at the stars, “I think what I have to say will allow you to overlook how close I was to not being on time.” Raising a brow, “Speck!” Merna gently touched my forearm, “I would prefer if we had a place where the walls did not have ears.” "How important is this Merna, I am in no mood for your games!” I gave her a heads-up of the mood that I was in. I did not want to take my disgruntled behaviour out on her because she wanted to play games. “This is not a game!” Merna attempted to keep her tone steady. “What I have to say is for your ears alone!” I narrowed my eyes to Merna, “I swear!” I was going to say more when I studied how her stance told me she was serious. Merna placed her hands up in the air, ‘if you do not want to listen, I can not force you. Though I believe I have an army for you!’ I raised my brow! “No games!” Merna strolled past me, “your room is the most secure location here, let’s go!” ‘An army?’ I linked as I watched Merna start to stroll away with more speed than she normally walks.‘This means of communication could be compromised, let us speak in your room!’ Merna paused, ‘I do not trust many things and this is one of those things and times.’ Merna was acting more secretive, I had never noticed this behaviour before. Strolling in the hallways, we did not speak, following behind her she pushed the door to my room open. Without saying a word she held the door only when I was in the chamber did she close it. Placing a finger up to her lips to indicate that she was not ready to speak. Closing the door Merna placed her hand on the door muttering “Pecuvatai enta katum ketkatu. Intak kalattai entak kankalalum parkka mutiyatu. En cittam utaikkappatatu!” I observed Merna repeating this at each door that led into my chamber. I know there was a reason for Merna's action. I just had to wait for her to finish what it was that she was doing. “Explanation?” My sight was placed on Merna as she poured us both a drink of wine. Merna rushed over and wrapped her arms around my waist breathing heavily. “Mother and I just found out that Mannal has gotten his hands on one of my siblings that has the skill for remote viewing, like myself. The only difference is that she can also hear conversations.” Merna had steadied her nerves heading over to the table where she filled two goblets with wine. Merna handed me my goblet. “My sibling does not seem bothered by her natural gifts, so she has been practising since she realized what she could do. I on the other hand like to hide in the darkness pretending … Never mind!” Taking the goblet, “Do you know all of your siblings?” Merna paused, “No!” I watched Merna sit and take a mouthful of her drink. “If I were walking the streets I would sense their presence. My next move would be up to myself and the others.” Merna relaxed into the chair facing the fire. “It was mother’s seer that rushed to tell us that Mannal had her.” Taking a mouth full, “She warned me that she can’t disobey her master. But she does not want to do what he tells her!” Taking another mouth full, “Mother told me what her skills are and told me what she can do!” I thought about what Merna had said, “Mannal is going to use your sibling to spy?” “If my siblings are anything like me … they will be strong and gifted. Many may have been practising since the day they were able to walk. I am … behind them!” Merna grinned, “We are all able to choose who we follow … I am the only one who has not chosen to align myself with a side. Either Way, once the food is digested, mother can not do a thing!” I sat there listening to Merna ramble on. “What the seer told us … I had a dream of it … I think I saw it while I was sleeping with you and Ashur. It bothers me … I think this was not a choice but forced.” Merna glanced up from her goblet to me, “In my dream … The conversation was brief … it is just a feeling and I have no validation, but I think he took her by force! I believe she was warning me because … she doesn’t want to … she is scared! Mannel is aiming to get me next! I think he is aiming to get me the next time I am walking around your territory.” Merna got up from her chair and was aiming to sit on my lap. “If my dream is correct … all of the attacks on the border have been testers to see where everyone is and how fast we respond.” “Do you know your sister's full name?” I watched Merna nod her head yes. “This would be the proof that is needed, but without an investigation, it is only speculation. I will deal with this. Is there anything else I need to know?” I filled my mouth up with the liquid as I held tighter on Merna. “I also had another dream … I listen to the whispers, investigate, from there I will make the best logical judgement based on the evidence that is in front of me.” Getting off my lap and placing down the goblet, Merna manifested locks in her hand, “here!” She gave me what was in her hands. “You remember the nightmares I have been having … They are not just dreams!” I could feel the energy that was coming off of the locks. “What is this?” I had a feeling I knew where they came from, and I was not going to like this! Tilting her head to the side, “I was having dreams of the past … events that have happened. Those that were imprisoned told me their stories.” A rumble erupted from my chest, “Where did you get these from?” My tone was dangerously low. Merna placed her free hand on my arm, “What you are thinking is correct, what you need to be asking is who is really loyal to you!” Merna’s sight was locked on me. “You really need to be looking at your bloodline, the ones that are here!” Merna released her hand off of my arm, “my dreams …” I did not want to listen to her, “I will not listen to this! They would never betray me!” I stood up as my temper started to boil. “Just like Tazqar would not betray you either … Tell me something Chaos …” Merna was matching my temper. I glared with anger at Merna, “Remember your place little hybrid!” I saw red! If Merna was correct, this would mean … I would not listen to this at all! “We broke bread with THEM!” Merna placed the last two locks on the table and had her hands on my arm, “When your kin were being sentenced to eternity in the abyss, whose side were they on? When your kin was being slaughtered … whose side were they on?” Merna was fighting to remain in control. “Their cases were very clear cut and easy for me to decide that they were innocent. The only crime was not following Pappavar … being strong enough to defend themselves from the corrupt viewpoint of your siblings. Your KIN and many other species have been imprisoned for merely having a difference of opinion.” “My offspring would never …” I glared down at her!“I am not talking about your children … I am talking about your kin, you know the ones who swore loyalty to you, the ones that promised to protect your lands.” Merna placed her hands on her hip. “Think about it, Chaos! Everytime your siblings attacked you, who was close to I grunted, “What do you mean?” “It is good to know that all of your bloodline is full of ego and delusions of superiority complex!!” I gave Merna a warning growl which only caused Merna to laugh. “Think about it for a second … your domains are vast with no beginning, no end … so you're telling me that you have eyes everywhere? There is no chance at all that your siblings could never slip past you? Be honest with yourself if not with me!” Merna challenged me. “This discussion is over with!” I was not going to hear another word on this topic. Merna smiled up at me, “which sounded good to me! I think we both need a bit of unwinding time!” Merna pushed my cloak off of my shoulders as she shifted her position on me, facing me. “I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and for once in this life … I feel ill-equipped and lack a great deal of knowledge and education!” “Should I be concerned?” I grasped her lips with mine. Breathing heavily, “I am listening to everything that is being told to me … moving with caution. If I continue like this, I will be fine and come back to you in one piece!” Merna was staring at my lips. Brushing her lips on mine softly. “I need to de-stress … no more talking!”
