Scorpio Tonight there was a blood moon meeting. It was tradition for me to come over to Pisces' place for dinner then we would leave to the appointed destination. It was well known that if Pisces was not working for his father in the shop he could be found working on his trinkets. Taking his attention back to his masterpiece. I could tell that Pisces was working on a whole new piece. This one seemed different from the others, there is more detail involved. I was surprised when he told me that someone, a new client, was going to pay him ninety dollars for one of his pieces. I whistled … that is good money I told him. I could never figure out why his father insisted that Pisces go off to college to further his education when Pisces could bank off good money with his talent. Since I was brought into the Zodiac council I have only known Pisces to create the best master pieces. They served the purpose and those who were not part of the magical community loved his work. He could take metal and do his magick. But Pisces' father insisted that his son go for a career job as an officer or lawyer. Some big shot position that would get Pisces real money as Cancer likes to call it. As we were talking and having a couple of laughs, Pisces' phone started to ring. Noticing it was Merna, he answered it rate away. “I have you on speaker!” He let her know. “Mr. Soprano … I know we were to have scheduled an appointment today, but I will not be able to make it.” I thought Pisces was going to start yelling at her, but somehow he kept his cool, “may I ask why?” Merna’s voice sounded laboured, “the cops are looking for my mate!” We could hear Merna sniffling, trying to compose herself while in the background a dog was barking nonstop. “Do … you need help? I can hear your dog barking!” I asked, breaking my vow of silence. “No!” she whispered, “Bronkes is just barking at the parasites that are outside. He has never liked rodents!” If this was anyone else, I would have believed every word she was saying and took it as the wild life was bothering her dog. But I was smarter than that. I knew what she was speaking about. “Do you need one of us to go over there?” Pisces asked. Sniffling on the other end, “No!” Merna whispered, “I am just going to sit here and wait for the cops to come by and tell me what I have to do next!” “Okay … I want you to check in with me tomorrow!” Pisces said as he was getting up out of his chair. “Okay!” Merna ended the conversation. “This is not good!” We both said at the same time. Pisces told me that Merna had a mate, someone she did not speak of. Many found it strange that she would not speak about the one she was to love. As a matter of fact, no one knew much about Merna except Cancer was excited to work with her. She did not say anything about her family or friends. She did not speak about anything outside of training. Unlike the rest of us, we formed friendships, connecting with those around us. While Merna was only interested in training. She did not seem to care about relating to others. I once joked about Merna being more like a robot than not human. Among the Constellation they started the rumour that she was going to be the new Aquarius, but so far nothing had been done about it. My thoughts are they want one more of our kind on the Zodiac Council. The more paravai we had on the Zodiac council the better, as far as I am concerned. From what the Constellation warriors had just as much interaction with Merna as Cancer and Pisces did. The running joke was that Merna was cold like Antarctica. When Pisces brought up the conversation he joked about how it was possible that Merna could be colder than Antarctica, if that was possible. I had wondered how she would fit in with the Zodiac council. Each of the Zodiacs found some kind of relatability with a different Zodiac member. With his phone, he directed his feet towards the exit. Finding Cancer in the shop, we waited until the shop was clear of all customers. Pisces explained why Merna was not going to be there. While I told him this whole situation just did not seem right. The dog was barking nonstop and Merna was doing nothing about it. Most people stop their dogs from barking, yet Merna did nothing. Cancer was on the phone getting a hold of Sagittarius as a new customer was heading in. Pisces greeted the customer while Cancer was on the phone.It was clear that Cancer got a hold of Sagittarius. As he explained to Sagittarius the situation. The main question was, should someone do a wellness check now or wait. It was well known that Merna could handle herself. But we all know what happens when we are overwhelmed. Someone always gets hurt or worse scenario, someone dies. Getting off the phone with Sagittarius. Cancer told us that if Merna does not check in Sagittarius was going to portal over to Merna’s place to do a wellness check. Until then they were going to hold off. Just because the dog was barking non stop and Merna was not acting accordingly. This did not mean that she was in imminent danger. For all we knew things were going to end up well in the end, we should not be over reaching. Yet the expression Cancer was giving told Pisces and me otherwise. This situation was how I was feeling, uneasy and something was not right!
