You Were Warned
Pirapancam I felt Chaos nudging at the back of my mind. Opening up a link he told me that he was on his way. By the tone of his voice, it appeared as if he had some good news. A change for once from all of the other times he has visited with only questions and aggression. Setting up the sitting area in my garden, I had tea and biscuits ready for his arrival. The last time there was good news was the arrival of Nin. I was sitting sipping on my tea while I waited for Chaos. I knew it would not be much longer. He was never someone to waste time when other things needed to be done. Kissing the top of my head, "sorry for the intrusion dear sister, but this can not wait!" Chaos took his respectable seat while I prepared his tea. Once I finished with the preparations I handed the cup to him. “What brings you here dear beloved brother?” I was pleased to find out that Anatu had found her mate. It was clear that Chaos would have preferred anyone but a human born, but who are we to question fate. Like so many we have always viewed the human borns as weak and not capable of taking responsibility to govern themselves. Those that were capable of governing themselves, well they are so far in between that we overlook them as well. It is the hybrids that we mainly pay attention to. Chaos continued to speak of Anatu’s mate. Saying there might be hope for this male! The only redeemable thing about Steve was that he could fight! It was infuriating how the male gender always thinks that one is only redeemable if one knows how to fight. They might have crawled out of the inferno eons ago, but their brain is still that of an animal, I swear sometimes. Males are rough and domineering. Well, females can see worth in other qualities. “Dear brother!” I started, “There is more to an individual than knowing how to fight. There is education and the ability to conduct according to societal laws!” Chaos did understand my perspective, yet what parent would not want their child's protection to be secure. We spend all their life making sure everything is safe for them. It is hard to hand that responsibility over to someone else. “Is Anatu at least happy with her mate?” I asked my brother. It is rare to see my brother smile, “she is happy with the match.” Though Chaos saw Steve as being ill matched with his daughter along with Zefer, who has yet to accept things for what they are. Manner wise, Steve is equal to Anatu’s temperament. For a while there had been no chatting among each other, I was sure Chaos was at the end of his visit when he said something I did not think I would hear. “What do you know about the Zodiac’s and the Constellation?” He inquired. To make sure that we were on the same page I had asked for clarification. It was not the stars that Chaos was meaning but a group of human borns. The further he spoke about them the more I was convinced he was talking about the groups that I interact with from time to time. In Chaos’ search for information, there were reports from the magickal community. Human borns have aided hybrids from being captured or killed. Intentionally I listened to what my brother had to say. Placing my cup down I decided that there would be no harm in giving some information about the Zodiac. It is not like the groups are a threat to Chaos. Our other so call siblings … they are a threat! “I take it you are wanting more information about the Zodiac?” “You know about them!?” Chaos had a mixture of not surprised and irritation. “It was my idea! They are a group of human beings with incredible gifts. From one generation to the other, they continue what their ancestors had been doing. Their work is shared so that they may survive.” “Who are they?” I refused to give out names or the location where they could be found. I knew my brother would not mean it, but if this information should get out. It could be devastating to the community. “You have to understand, dear beloved brother. When the magical community reported to you of their bloodline being attacked … no words or responses were given. I can only do so much since my hands are tied. They on the other hand could learn how to protect themselves from attacks that would take down their numbers.” Chaos was perplexed by this information, it was clear that this was the first time he had heard of this. As far as he knew, there were no reports of human borns going missing. That the magickal community has never brought their woes to him. I had asked Chaos who was to take care of such matters. It was no surprise to me that he appointed Kudiya for the task. What shocked us both was that he did not bring this to his father's attention. For the longest time, we sat just looking at one another. “I know my son is slow in the mind compared to his siblings, but even he is not that dimwitted to cross my path!” I could tell my brother was questioning the sincerity of his offsprings. “There are many things that Kudiya is but a traitor to his direct bloodline … he is not. I am going to assume that his hatred for the human borns has clouded his judgement. Not wanting to bother his father with such issues. It may not have been the wisest of decisions, but he would n.e.v.e.r betray his father.” I knew until Chaos tested Kudiya’s loyalty he would not let this discussion rest. Abruptly Chaos stood up and readied himself to leave. “I have only one more question … Pierre told Sadragon that Cancer has been working with Merna! Is Cancer trust worthy?” “Cancer has given me until the next blood mood to tell my daughter everything … or he will!” Chaos started to laugh, “A human born threatening you! I know have seen everything!” “He does not threaten me, but believes keeping Merna in the dark will cause her more harm than any good. He is also like Merna, a hybrid. He is also the leader of the Zodiacs, I trust Merna in his good hands and no other! He might even be able to curb her wild ways!” “He still would not be able to compare to my elites!” I raised a brow and chose to say nothing. If I had disputed such a claim, it would only perk Chaos’ interest. For now, the two needed to remain separated. Later on, though, I would love to see Cancer defeat Chaos’ top fighter. Something I will take great pleasure in seeing.
