You Were Warned

Chapter 156 Pirapancam

Pirapancam I was sitting having tea when Chaos came into my home. Kissing the top of my head, "sorry for the intrusion dear sister, but this can not wait!" My seer appeared as if she was about to jump and run out of the location. Chaos took a seat that was beside me, "Sit seer! It is not you who I wish to kill!" He gave her a toothy grin, “at least today!” "Just my species!" My seer pointed out the obvious. "No!" Chaos poured himself a cup of tea. This is when I knew things were serious. Chaos never stays any longer than he has to. "I do not wish death on your kind seer, only those that tell lies and spread poison to the masses!" Chaos finished as he blew on the hot liquid. Pulling out of his cloak he dropped an amulet on the table. Without a second to spare my seer picked it up. "This is why I am having so much trouble seeing Merna!" She exclaimed. She turned her head towards Chaos, "Your Grand Mage is the one that made this. I can see him working on it. Careful as he knows this will aid him in his next scheme." "This is why I brought it here the second Aruru brought it to me!" Chaos set his sight on me, "Merna tried to break the seal but was not able to. “Merna did not even try!” My seer started to laugh. "It might be a bloodbound spell and it is true they are very difficult to destroy. Once one has been cast ..." She placed the amulet back on the table. "Gwydion is the one that has to break it!" I could tell there was something that she was not telling us. It was as if when she was speaking … ‘What did you see my dear beloved friend?’ I thought to myself. Huffing and puffing, "That is going to be a problem!" Chaos started, "Someone has killed him! I have sent Aruru and Nin to gather more information about the crime. The authorities there could not find anything!" "Oh dear!" I placed my cup down, "Where?" From the beginning, I never liked the vial little thing. But Chaos saw something in him that was redeemable. My seer always told me the wizard would get what he deserved in the end. Now it seems that he has. “Nilranlin … on the outer reaches from what I was told!” Chaos finished the rest of his drink, "I was told that somehow he was burned from the inside out." Making himself another cup of tea, “The mages there could not tell how it was done. It is not a spell that they have written down in their book. They are still looking into the situation so the investigation is ongoing.” I glanced over at my seer, looking for any sign from her. I placed my hand on my throat, "That is gruesome! If it were a spell, there would be magickal traces of the spell and who did it!" I thought for a moment longer and was drawing a blank. There are no species that I know of that would burn an enemy from the inside out!“ I took my hand off of my throat and moved it down to my chest. “Except …” My mind started to wander off. Chaos began to chuckle, “Oh dear beloved sister! There are many who would perform this kind of execution. Sorcerers and others that practise the darker path and blood magick!” He took a sip of his tea, “we do not hear of it often because of the laws that have been put into place. This is to stop vigilante justice! Remember ‘an eye for an eye tooth for a tooth!’ It is practised just hidden from the public eyes. This comes as a shock because the body was left in the open to be found!” I was in a state of shock, it has been so long since acts of this nature have happened. Things have been so quiet for the last century. “Do you think … possible there are more to come?” I had to ask my brother. “YES!” My seer spoke! Both Chaos and I glanced at my seer. “They are messages … to who … that I do not know yet. But I just saw several bodies dead … all of them burned as Chaos has mentioned. And … I can not see what is carved on the corpses … but a message is left for the intended. The killer is not going to stop until they are caught.” My seer now had my dear brother's attention, “How many bodies?” he inquired. “I lost count! They will be found in all the realms … kingdoms … territories! The killer is a skilled assassin. The targets are chosen carefully. The locations where the act takes place will alway private with little movement! Yet each body will be placed in a location to be found!” My seer informed us of what she saw. “Interesting!” Chaos started, bringing the topic back to the murder that had just happened. "When the authorities came to me with this news, they asked me if Gwydion had any enemies. The list was so long ... I think the inspectors wanted to crawl into a hole. Gwydion was not particularly liked, especially in his early years, but he proved to be valuable." Chaos sat in the chair pondering on what was going on. My seer picked up the amulet once again. "Chaos ... Gwydion was not making this for Merna's protection! I am seeing the opposite! He made this to capture her! I see him writing a note to him and tucking it away for him to find later. Zefer found out and took him to the cells. Someone had freed him just before everyone lost their memories. One thing works in our favour. Zefer took the note. What happened after that I do not know. I do know one other thing … Parppavar had promised him a seat by her side. Parppavar wanted Merna for herself! That is why Merna was sent back in time. To forget everything! So they could capture her without anyone knowing what was happening."Chaos and I glared at each other, "I do not remember a thing!" I declared. I knew I did not have to utter those words, I only feared that Chaos would think that somehow I was behind him pushing Merna into the vortex. Losing his mate. My seer got up from her seat, "I will do my best to break the seal!" "Name your price?" Chaos said to my seer. My seer tapped the medallion with her finger, "First I have to figure out how to complete the task ... if I do ... you will give me what I ask, even if it is your next born child!" My seer hissed at Chaos. I had to admit that was a ridiculous price to pay since it would be Merna’s child that she would be taking. Then the thought crossed my mind. I know my seer all too well, she would not say something like that if she already knew she could not break the seal. ‘So why would she take the medallion?’ I thought to myself. Chaos held out his hand as did my Seer. Their hands glowed indicating that a deal had been made and it was sealed.
