You Were Warned

Chapter 157 Cancer

Cancer Mirna arrived as normal! Around her neck was a charm that I knew all too well. With a smile of relief, "You met up with the Seer!" I pointed to the charm. Nodding her head, "she said something along the lines of needing to keep things a secret. that if I did not I would be hunted by all species. And here I always thought I was never wanted!” Mirna laughed at her dark humour of a joke. I pointed at her, "That is not funny Mirna!" I gave her the same tone I give Pisces when he is in trouble. To my dismay, that only made Mirna laugh even harder. Mirna took a step into the protective circle, "Do not worry old man! First, they have to get to me!" She stretched her arms above her head, "That alone is not easy of a thing!" "Do not get too full of yourself little one! You are strong, but you are not the strongest! You are smart, but you are not the smartest! There will always be someone out there who will Be better than you!" I had pointed this out to the youth all the time. We had lost many great fighters because of the chip on their shoulders. Thinking because they were on top of their game, nothing was going to happen to them. Mirna smirked at me, "You told Pisces this line many times in the past ... I am going to bet on it ... that you have!" "He gets a head of himself sometimes and forgets that there are things out there a lot bigger than he is! A lot bigger than all of us!" I chuckled at recalling how I was the same as these two when I was younger. “I remember how I was the same as you young ones. Full of life and wanting to take on the world's problems head on. You can do this, you just have to be smart about things!” “I will keep that in mind as I move forwards!” Mirna’s smile slowly slipped away, "I remember!" All hints of amusement were gone, "I do not know how I got here, but I know what I am." I squared my shoulders, "and what is that?" I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. If I were correct about what she is about to say, that means Pirapancam has lost her chance to speak. I will not lie to this child. If she asks a question I will tell her the truth. But first I have to make sure we are talking about the same topic. What I was not prepared for was Mirna Stripping out of her clothing and shifting. In front of me stood a blue fire phoenix. I placed my hand over my mouth to stifle the exhale of shock. From behind me, Pisces came into the dark room. "So are we ..." Pisces came into the area, "WOW! What the ..." Pointing, "Is that?" I was glad Pisces was not here to see Mirna strip, he is already struggling with his issues as it is."Mirna! We have finally found our queen!" In Mirna’s blackened eyes there was the shape of a golden dragon. So tiny that at first, we did not notice it. We had mistaken it for swirling energy! “Boy turn around and give Mirna the respect she deserves!” I told my son as we both turned around. It is true that over time we no longer care about nudity, yet until the individual says something, the first few shifts males and females will turn their backs to be respectful of the person. There was a big smile on my son's face, "I now know for sure I am not gay! I want a wife just like Mirna!" He stated to me. Mirna was laughing while she was putting her clothing on. "I am fully dressed now!" Mirna announced. "I am so glad I came here today!" Pisces clapped his hands together. "So what are we going to do next?" He was looking at me and then at Mirna. Mirna's dark humour came back, "Not me, that is for sure!" Mirna was laughing her ass off. Dramatically, Pisces placed his hand on his chest appearing hurt and let down. 'Damn, that boy is definitely my son!' I thought to myself. "Pisces go and tell the constellations that tonight's meeting will be held tomorrow. I need to work with Mirna on concealing her identity!" "Are you going to need my help?" Pisces looked as if he was hoping I would say yes. "I am going to need you to bring your strongest art piece here!" I thought about it, "Bring everything! Mirna can choose what it is that she will carry around with her all the time!" "On it!" He clapped his hands as Mirna listened to the both of us. "How about instead of bringing it here ... I will go with you! Then we come back here and have a workout!" Pisces and I thought about it for a second. After everything that has been going on, we did agree not to let anyone into our private living quarters. "Dad you cook … I will get the charm up and ready. once the food is done we finish working!" "This is going to be a long night!" I muttered as I brought us out of the dark room. I made sure to keep the door to Pisces' room open. I was sure that Mirna and Pisces would keep their hands to themselves. By keeping the door open, I knew it would be a sure thing.I was excited, since I can remember I have spoon-fed Pisces stories about the child queen, who would come and lead us to victory. That she would be the one that would re-write the wrongs that happened to our kind. I know Pisces thought of them as just a story. I also know that as much as he likes Mirna, there is jealousy towards her. For the longest time, the focus was always on him and no one else. Mirna was more than stunning! She was quick to learn! One hell of a fighter! But she is cold and the majority of the time moody! Pisces and I both agree the other thing we found odd about her is how secretive she can be. I can only attribute this to her being away from her kind for so long. I figure the more Mirna is around her kind, the more she will open up. From the kitchen, "You made these?" I heard Mirna ask Pisces. I entered the room, in her hand, Mirna held Pisces' latest piece, which he had been working on. He smiled at her, "Yes I did! That is one of my best work there you are holding!" Pisces was proud of his hard work. Placing the medallion on the table, "how much do you want for it?" Pisces began to chuckle, "I think that might be a ..." Mirna smiled back at him, "I do not want it for what your father has in mind! I need it to capture and contain! How much do you want?" It was apparent the two did not know I was standing there listening to their conversation. "Father said we are not supposed to sell to members but give ... since I am a junior member I have to do without question!" I could hear the bitterness in his tone. "I will give you twenty-five Canadian dollars for each medallion you make me. I am going to need a lot of them." Mirna exclaimed. “I saw in a dream that you are the best of the best! And I need the best for what I need to capture … So what do you say little brother?” I could tell by his facial expression he wanted to ask why, but did not! "I already have a lot of them in stock if you would like to look at them?" Pisces' tone seemed to pick up. Mirna did the one thing I did not think she would do, "If you think they will hold up to a big bad and ugly ... I do not need to look at them." She patted him on the back, "I trust your judgement!" One thing that bothered Pisces was the fact he felt like he did not get the respect he deserved and felt like no one ever trusted his judgement. He believed that age was the reason. What he did not realize was that it was a seniority thing. Yet here Mirna was … treating my son like an equal. Pisces picked up the medallion that Mirna was holding, "The first one is free!"“One more thing! Do not tell anyone what I am using these for … there is a spy in your group! I want to have the upper hand. Actually it would be best if you did not tell anyone that you are making these for me. Just say you have a new buyer if the topic comes up. I could even set up a website for you to make it legit!” She took the object from Pisces and placed it in the back of her pants pocket. "You know you have a talent, you could be living comfortably if you upped your game!" Pouting, "I would but Dad wants me to go off to college and become a big-shot lawyer!" Mirna started to laugh, "I think that is also an amazing idea, that way you can learn how to win a disagreement with your father." I saw my son pull out a charm that he had made while his mother was sick. It was a chunk of obsidian rock, connected to a copper chain. He held it in his hand and turned to give it to Mirna, "Here big sister, I think you should have this ... It will be perfect for hiding from our etirikal!" Mirna held it in her hands, “It has too much sentimental value to you.” She tried to give it back to Pisces. “No! My mother would have wanted it this way!” I saw Mirna whip a tear from Pisces' face and hugged him.
