You Were Warned
Chaos Thinking of Ashur and his mate, I was happy about it. Puabi and her mate, ecstatic about it. Anatu and her mate … that was going to take a lot longer to accept. Thinking about the fact that the little red head was my mate as well, I was wondering why fate would place her with me. Giving my head a shake, I glared at the pile of papers. The pile of papers was getting higher as information came in. From what I could tell everything was running smoothly. There was nothing out of the ordinary that would make me assume that there was foul play going on in my territory. Rumours of my activity had reached the species in the physical world. Bombarding me with information about activity had increased. One thing that kept reserving was the words Zodiac and Constellation. From what I gathered, they are a group of human borns that have relations to the elementals. Nothing more was given to me pertaining to these organizations. I sent one of my assassins on a mission to find out more information about the Zodiac and Constellation organization. Until now, they had gone unnoticed by me. Now that they have my attention I want to know everything about them. I tasked Nin and Aruru to keep an eye on Merna. My other offsprings plus their mother were sent to deal with the new captives. From the information that Sadragon had told me Puabi’s mate is one of the females that were part of the group. It was not a custom of mine to give a pleasure their mate. Normally I would dispose of them the second the information came to my attention. Puabi was different! The mother of my offspring, loyal and after giving me two sons and seven daughters … This is the most I could do for her. The only payment she will ever receive from me. All I needed was for Puabi to be truthful and claim her mate! Sadragon and his mate were consummating their newfound bond. However, something tells me they had done this several times before the ceremony was held. 'Father!' I heard Aruru linking me. I figured Aruru was going to inform me about the two spies that had taken residence in human born bodies. 'Nin has already told me that the two spies are back in the area. Has the situation changed?' I linked my daughter back not wanting to hear any bad news. I have gone over the situation in my mind several times trying to figure out how to get to the spies. Each time I would come to a brick wall. If I were to get them I would have to break a law … something I did not want to do unless it was necessary. Huffing, 'It appears to me that your little redhead is more than capable of dealing with the spies on her own.' I could hear a bubble of laughter in her tone, 'If I am correct ... she blinded the male for using binoculars to peer into her domain.'I started to chuckle, 'Pierre did tell Sadragon that she does have a temper! Creative in ways of dealing with undesirables.’ 'That she can!’ Aruru was giggling, ‘her way of casting spells is much different from what I have seen done before. It is like she is forming her own magick, a new style that is made up!’ Aruru paused for a second. ‘Father, I have opened a link for a whole different reason!' My daughter did not have the chatty type of personality that her other siblings had. She was more like me in retrospect. ‘Continue child!' 'Please meet me in your mate’s room! I will be there in a moment, I am leaving my domain now!' I was perplexed at Aruru mentioning my mate’s room. ‘Does Aruru know?’ I thought to myself. The only one who knew for sure was Pierre, Sadragon, the seer and Pirapancam. I was positive that none of them would say anything to Ashur or my other offspring. That left only one other individual … my little redhead! Cleaning up everything that I had been working on, I materialized myself to the location Aruru had requested. Unlocking the door, Pushing it open I was bewildered at what I had seen. At last memory, this room had not been used since my wife was taken from me. Here this room appeared as if it had been used not too long ago. ‘Why is this area like …?’ I did not finish my thought. ‘Who else knows?’ I thought to myself. Materializing beside me, Aruru wasted no time, she held out an object. Studying it, I knew the second that it landed in my hand who had designed this. "Your little redhead said she could not break it, that it was bloodbound." She huffed out. It appeared as if she was going to say something else but did not continue. I could feel the energy coming from the medallion. This style of working I was familiar with. It was the one and only Gwydion. "You know just as well as I do who made this, why would this be in the hands of my redhead?" I was starting to pace the location. That is when I recalled something the seer told me and my sister. Gwydion had messed around with the timeline. "She also said that it was meant for her to forget everything. The problem was ... she did not forget and we have no memories of her! Father ... What is going on? She claims you did this to her ..." Aruru pressed her lips together firmly, not wanting to finish the rest of her sentence. We both studied the chamber. It was undeniable, someone had been living in here. All of my dead wife's belongings had been cleared out. There was little in here but the fire pit told me that it was used less than one blood moon ago. The medallion erased our memories but could not fix the physical aspect of the other timeline. I glanced at the medallion, ‘everyone's memory is gone but Merna’s!’"I would never do something like this unless there was a very good reason why!" I let out a stream of smoke coming out of my nose. "What is so important that I would do this to our little redhead …?" “She …” Aruru did not want to say Merna’s name, “did mention something about protecting the people in all the realms from another purge!” Aruru glanced backwards as if someone was listening to our conversation. "She said you have to get the creator to break the seal!" I ran my hand down my face, "That is going to be an issue! He was found murdered!" I stated the news I had received not too long ago. I was not going to put much effort into the investigation. Yet now he seems to be more linked to everything that is going on. A proper investigation was the next task I was going to hand out once the conversation with Aruru was done. Whispering, "Your Grand Master Mage! Where?" This was the first time Arurur had shown any sign of emotional change. "Nilranlin!" My eyes were on the medallion. "That does not make any sense! Why would the Grand Master Mage leave?" Aruru started to move her feet around the location. "There would have to be evidence of who would dare to do this." I remembered what information I was given. The authorities there could not find any evidence. Their best was not the greatest, “The investigation is still ongoing!” With a bow, "father may I go? I am better suited for this versus children that are still wet behind the ear!" It was true, if there was anyone that could find foul play that would be Aruru. "Take Nin with you! I do not want you wandering anywhere alone! There is a killer among us. This killer has no face as far!" “I can do that, though who will watch … her?” Aruru had a good question, who would I send? “I will see if Hassun is on shift, he can pick three of his best and they can watch the premises!” With a bow Aruru was gone, ‘I will tell Nin to wait until relief comes and then we will leave and complete the task.’
