You Were Warned

Chapter 154 Merna

Merna It is amazing how different city life and country living were completely different. The birds are singing, the sun is high. Everything seemed calm and relaxing. Yet, I knew the storm was about to begin. I was sitting at the table glaring at the medallion that started this road I was on. "I know you are here, come out!" My tone was flat. I waited for her to step out of the shadows, "father said you were talented!" I remembered the female she was around Zefer and her other siblings in the alternate timeline. She was slim and built like all of Chaos' daughters. What made her stand out was her height, she was the shorts of the group. Something told me she was a bookworm … silent ... very deadly. They were the ones that you never knew what they were capable of doing until they acted. I held out the Medallion to the female, "I remember you from before. In the other timeline! But I never got your name? Chaos never properly introduced me to all of his children." The female took the Medallion, "Aruru, second youngest!" She studied the object, "what is this?" "Give it to your father, he is the one who placed it around my neck!" I pointed at the object in her hand. "It is blood bound! I am going to guess the one that created this medallion, is part of your father's court. It was designed for everyone to forget! Except it did not work on me!" The female glared at me, silence was between us for the longest time before she pulled out a chair and sat down. “I am talented, but even I am not capable of breaking a seal that has been bloodbond.” I forced a smile, “I have yet to learn how to do that!” Aruru studied me in silence. Moving the medallion around in her hands. "Why should we protect you? What makes you so bloody special?" Aruru broke the silence. Her tone was like jack frost nipping at my nose. I chose not to answer instead I glanced at the table, "break the spell cast on the medallion ... you will all remember as I have!" I tapped on the table, glancing up, "you do not want me ... but ... you will need me!" I tilted my head to the side a bit, “I am the evil that no one wants around, but … I am necessary!” “Zefer tells me you are not a hybrid but conceal yourself in a human born meat sack …” Aruru’s words tried to cut me like a knife. “Why?” I smiled sweetly knowing that my words could burn like a hot poker. “Everyone that is of a higher birth … you see things that are not like you as weak! Something to wipe your feet on whenever you should choose to! And that is not restricted to human borns! You shit on the very thing you need … caring less about the smallest of things. Only seeing what you want to! Where better to hide than the thing you will walk past! As far as you are concerned I am a lowly being, not worth your time … effort … or notice.” I hissed. “You only see things when your reality has been disrupted. When there is something you do not understand you become defensive and destroy the things that threaten your lifestyle. Not giving a damn if the small little thing has more importance to the cycle. But you will never know because you will never take the time to understand!” I stood up from the chair wandering to the front window. Pushing the curtain to the side, I saw the two spies once again. Aruru stood slightly behind me. "They are back!" She pointed out. Inhaling, "Yes!" I held on to the s. At the end of the driveway, the male was holding binoculars to his face, looking directly at me. “Fuck around and find out!” I said just above a whisper. I motioned my hand from left to right as if to say hi to the inconvenient insects. I mentally envisioned the male going blind, "Let the darkness be your guide!" I closed the curtain and strolled back to the table to finish the rest of my coffee. Picking up the cup I sipped on the liquid, "How rude of me, would you like a cup of coffee?" Aruru tapped the object in the palm of her hand, "Maybe next time! I really should get this to my father!" "In that case, do not use the portal that brought you here, use my personal one. I am sure you know how a multi purpose portal works?" I was not rude but nor was I chipper. With a nod of her head, I took Aruru to my dark room. Opening the door, I cast the spell to open the vortex. "My father has one of these!" Aruru smiled, "I can see it took you no time setting this place up!" I placed my hand on my chest as the pain came back again. "I got the idea from your father!" I cleared my throat as I glared down at my feet. Gaining control over my emotional outburst! I brought my head back up to see the woman standing just ahead of me, "I do not need your protection nor your help! I am accustomed to being alone!" I told her. She smiled at me, "It is funny! The ones that are accustomed to being alone are truly the most frightening, they have their own set of laws they follow. Yet they tend to be the ones that need the most help! They need to be saved from themselves!" Aruru tapped the floor with her foot three times, "until later lone wolf!" Closing the circle, I aimed my feet towards the door, “It is not I who needs to be saved. Chaos underestimates his so called siblings. They have found a way to dethrone him.” Closing the door, I wandered to my office. I did what needed to be completed before I could go hunting. I was basing my hunch on what I remembered from the other timeline. Serfs entered Chaos’ terrain through a portal that would appear on the West side. The side that Tizqar would patrol along with his companions. No one ever noticed this movement because the traitors to Chaos were the ones helping the serfs get in. This action stops today! I was not fully sure how this process would happen. I surmised in my mind that Tizqar or one of his companions would take an unsuspected serf that was once Chaos’ property. They would kill the serf and have a spy take over that individual's place. Making sure to keep all the spies resting in the same location to ensure that no one would speak. I could only assume that if a serf had found out what was really going on, they would be silenced at the moment. I had a vague idea of the location that was used to get in. I remember seeing a pond, getting online I saw three possible spots … Wood Pond, Tempest Pond and Aspye Pond. Studying the terrain, I was getting my mind to remember how the area appeared. Each area appeared to have a lot of hills, not much flat land. Using satellite viewing I searched the area again. I spent most of the time only looking at the lakes that I did not consider between the lakes. Once the thought entered my mind, using the satelite imagine, my hunt had expanded. There was a section of land between Tempest and Aspye Pond. The location was so close that I could walk there in less than thirty minutes. Jumping up from my computer, I portaled to the location of interest. I did not like this one bit at all. The area was a field with few trees to give me cover from any attacker. Realizing the danger that I was in, I was about to leave when I felt an energy shift. It was strong enough to make me crouch behind a dead stump. Coming out of the portal was a female. Shorter than me but same body build. Not making a sound I checked the location again. If my suspicions were correct, this spy would be picked up. The female stripped out of her clothing and got into rags that I had seen on Chaos’ serfs. She was blending in. This confirmed my first theory! What I was not sure of was who was going to pick her up. My heart started to pound rapidly when I noticed the female heading in my direction. To portal out of here and tell what I had seen would be a mistake. The spy would tell whoever was picking her up what she saw. I only had one other option, there was no way I was going to get out of this situation. Summoning the underground water, I bid it to hold the female in place. As I had done with Gwydion, I repeated my actions with this spy. The only difference was, I did not have a conversation with the female. In my opinion, I did not need to extract information from this female. I only needed the traitor to find the body. Carving into her body, I left the same message as I did with Gwydion. Running to the tree line I found the perfect spot to see the dead body. There I waited for the traitor to collect what was to be. The sun was down while the moon was starting to rise in the sky. I thought for sure they would have come sooner. From the tree line, two heads emerged, strolling over to the body. Kicking the body, “Parppavar is not going to like this!” I recognized the voice to be that of Tizqar. “Unbelievable!” I did not recognize the voice of this male. Picking up the body, “Get your hands on the hybrid …” He grumbled, “I will take the serf back to our Master!” “I tried!” Tizqar yelled, “no one has been able to get onto the land … only Sadragon.” “You are such a hatchling! Ask Sadragon how he did it, even a moron could figure that out!” The second male scolded Tizqar. “Sayranth … Do you think I have not tried? They are not speaking … their lips are sealed tight. Ever since the redhead got here, they have not talked at all. Even the blabber mouth Alma has not said a word. All she ever says now is that we are all in need to know the basis. If the Master has not spoken it means I am not to know!” Before disappearing, “Tizqar, you have fallen out of grace with your cousins … fix it!” I did not move from my spot until I heard the sounds of insects.
