You Were Warned

Chapter 143 Pisces

Pisces Pirapancam’s seer always scared the crap out of me. A being with no eyes and nose only a mouth full of shaped teeth … who would not be scared out of their skin at seeing that? Jumping out of my bed I ran to find my dad. The blood moon was less than a week away. This did give me time to get a hold of Mirna. Yet there was something about this conversation that told me the sooner I got a hold of Mirna the better. I also wanted to tell Father how the seer told me that Mirna was close to her shift. In our community, this was a big thing. A celebration that brought us all together. The younger we shifted, told everyone how powerful that individual was going to be. When I shifted for the first time, my father was there. Father eased things for me. Talking me through something frightening yet at the same time was magickal. It was a time when we spiritually connected with the universe and everything around us. With this new found power came the dangers. The day of the celebration, I found this out the hard way. On the night of the celebration, we all had been attacked. There were several broken bones, and more cuts but no one lost their life nor was anyone taken. That was the day I had a feeling that we had a spy watching us closely. No one could figure out how our hiding place had been found. The most troubling thing was a ward that had been placed out for protection had been removed. This brought on the other thought … We had a traitor among us. The thought was disturbing enough that I kept it to myself. Only recently have I brought up this thought to my father. Neither of us wanted to think it was possible. I just could not shake the thought that someone was giving out information about our locations and personal information. Because of this, all of my workings have been secret, I refused to even tell my best friend, Scorpio! I had gone even further to change the wards on our place without Father knowing. I love the old man but sometimes he puts too much faith in those that are around us. Not seeing who they truly are. I even have my suspicions when it comes to Mirna’s true self. I will acknowledge she did not have the same raising as us … yet her behaviour speaks volumes. I wonder if everything she is doing is for herself or the whole group. I also had a slight case of jealousy towards Mirna! For the longest time, the focus was on me, now it is always about Mirna and how perfect she is. I felt left out! She was like the daughter my father always wanted but never received. Mirna filled that void my father craved. I spent the time calling Mirna, trying to get a hold of her. I ran around the upper part of the house yelling for my father, but with no response, I ran to the shop with my phone in my hands. It had been agreed that Pirapancam most likely had something to do with Mirna not transitioning. Mirna was a different case altogether. She is the only one who we recruited in her mid twenties, the rest of us, were between fourteen and eighteen. Father would give them the speech, and train them on how to protect themselves. If it were a family full of birds, they would up and leave their location if they could. Others continued with the cause in their location. Runaways or orphans, we would sneak or take them into our domain. They would get a new identity and start their new life close by for all of us to protect the whole. Finding my father dealing with a customer, I patiently waited for him to no longer be busy. I told my father what the seer had told me. "I wonder!" I could tell his mind went into deep thought. “Could it be …” He never completed his thought process. I waited to see if my father would tell me what he was thinking. Finally after a while of saying nothing, "You start dinner, and I will continue trying to get a hold of Mirna. If we can not get a hold of Mirna after dinner time. You have my permission to portal to Mirna’s house." Father turned the sign over to indicate he was closed. Locking the door, he then proceeded to turn off the lights at the shop. This is when I knew things were not good. Father never closes the shop up early unless there is an emergency. "If the seer has come to you ... without the Mistress command ... something major is about to happen. Mirna needs to see the seer!" He huffed, “or at the least be willing to come and speak with us. If she is close to shifting, she will need aid in the process; she will also need to learn how to protect herself further so that her energy is not easily picked up while walking out and about.” I pointed out the obvious, "How will I portal to a place I have never been?" "I will search for the house, Mirna once told me that she was moving and had given me the address!" My father said as he went to the computer. "A picture from Google Maps will have to be your guide!" “Does feijoada sound good to you?” I asked my father as we climbed up the stairs to our home. “That sounds like a great idea!” Father unlocked the safe that held all of our important information. After the attack on my birthday father made it a point to make sure that no one could get vital information. This did not stop the attempts on our lives. Though father and I noticed one thing. When Draco had moved and refused to allow anyone to know where his address was but my father. Draco had not received one attack at his address. This did not convince my father there was a traitor … but it did look suspicious! Typing away on the keyboard while I was making our dinner I could hear my father muttering something about Sagittarius living less than an hour from Mirna’s location.
