You Were Warned

Chapter 111 Pierre

Pierre It was in the middle of the night when I stepped through the portal that I had created. The buildings were similar to what I am accustomed to. I huffed out in frustration. Getting to Brasilia, Brazil was not an issue, the issue was … the male that I needed to speak to would be asleep. Directing my feet, I went to the address that I was given. I glanced at the little shop, it was obvious to me that the owner of this establishment lived above his store. 'Convenent!' I thought to myself. On the walls were sigils, if it were not for Merna educating me in the things of the magickal world, I would not have known about this. I did not need to be a rocket scientist to know what these were meant for. "Protection!" I muttered to know one. I was more than positive that only those on the other side could see this. If the human had the eye of sight, they might have picked up on this as well. The question remained, who were they protecting themselves from? And ... Am I able to get passed these sigils? Carefully I extended my hand, testing the barrier. With ease, I was able to continue forward. Following the pull of energy, I led myself to the domain of the family. ‘Fuck!’ I cursed, I forgot how much sleep humans needed to function. I glanced at the clock, it was only a little after five in the morning. ‘This family wreaked magical skill, the wards to keep unwanted spirits out were profound. I was impressed. I thought Merna was the only one that could work magic this strong.’ Further inspection of this place, I could tell the family was not rich, but by no means were they struggling either. The hairs on the back of my head started to stand at attention, pivoting there was a young male who could see and hear me. “The sigils ... It is a family trait!” The male coated his words with venom. “You better speak quickly before I fling you back to where you came from, demon!” His expression matched his words, he was pissed and in defence mode. I gauged the youth as he did to me, “What a human thing for you to say!” I had to remind myself that I was not here to fight but to gather information and nothing more, “a family thing you said?” With all the time I have been in the other realm I had learned Merna’s scent, this young teenager smelled the same. They were in a meat sack but they were something else. That something brought them together as a species. Narrowed eyes, a snarl that displayed his teeth, “You are running out of time, demon!” The teenager yelled.Shuffling came from behind the youth, “Boy put that amulet down now!” An older gentleman ordered. ”Fay sent him!” I could tell he just crawled out of bed as he rubbed his eyes trying to gain focus. The teenage boy was not happy. “What! This is a demon, who has entered our home.'' The boy was more confused than before. The elderly man began, “I had a dream of him coming, the mother of all mothers told me that he would assist in … the issues!” The male grabbed the amulet out of who I could only assume was his son, hands. "Give me that before you do something that you and I will regret later on!" Following with his eyes, he watched his father, “The issues?” The boy repeated. I chuckled internally! They were speaking in code. Not a very good one but one nonetheless. I was not completely sure but I was starting to begin to believe that their issue was also our issue. The reason why I was sent on the hunt! The older male took the time to gauge me, “You are Merna’s friend are you not?” Now it was my turn to look laughable, “y.e.s!” I bobbed my head yes. It astounded me that they spoke of Merna, yet she had never once mentioned them. The male cleared his throat, “Then we do not have time to waste, Mannel is after her for her powers. If you can get to him before he gets her … we will all be saved a great deal of unpleasantry.” The male started to walk away from me. “Follow me, young man!" He directed his order to me. Aiming for the small kitchen, "It is early but I think I will start a pot of coffee. Merna is very talented … too stubborn though. She has spent her life fighting her nature … scared, so scared of what she is!” The elderly male appeared distressed. “We have tried to reach out to her many times but nothing! She blocks all of us out!” "I am very well aware of how bullheaded that woman can be! even saw what she could do!" Knowing that my friend was in danger, “Who do I find Mannel?” I crossed my arms and rested them on my chest. “You do not find him, he will find you!” The male started his coffee maker. “You killed one of his offspring! He will hunt you down to get retribution.” I directed my nod toward the elderly man. “You saw this all in your dream?” “I did! The only thing that is unsure is the outcome. You have skills but Mannel is older than our universe. That does not mean you can not … deal with him. Unlike his offsprings, you will not be able to kill Mannel.” I huffed, “I thought this blade would kill anything!” “Only one born of that bloodline can make it do that!” The old man was pointing to the blade that was on my body. “That blade was not your birthright but gifted. It will not kill an original ... god or elemental. You can wound one and if you have the proper skill, trap one!” The male glared at his son, “You two are going to work together.” I smiled, “You are like Merna, I can sense that you have her same energy. So … you know how to do it!” My tone was warm. The old man and boy gave me a toothy grin. “My boy will get the seal ready. You will sit and wait while we get everything completed.” The male made a cup for himself and his son. “Some of the originals and gods did my kind wrong, I have been waiting many lifetimes to pay them back with the same kindness!” The old man sat at his table. “You are going to help me get my revenge!” I started to laugh, “Now you are speaking my language!”
