You Were Warned
*Kudiya * The leads were starting to dry up and her mood was starting to get on my last nerve, I was losing patience with her. ‘She is getting close to her blood moon.’ Dath pointed out as the rabbit was rubbing her abdomen. “Maybe we should head back. We have been hitting dead ends for sometime. I know the Master will be pleased with the work that you have done, Merna.” Dath suggested to her. “I think you are right, we need to go back. It is not something that I wanted to do, but we are coming up empty handed. This is a waste of time when we could be more proactive.” She opened a portal and we landed in the domain that would lead us to my father. I pushed my thoughts on Dath, ‘What do you think you are doing?’ I could feel my eyes glowing. ‘Giving credit where it is due! If it were not for Merna, your father’s army would not have grown. Hate her all you want, but a fool can see what you refuse to!’ This was the first time that Dath had ever talked back to me, ‘So she has won you over with her charm as well I see.’ ‘She has won me over by her dedication and hard work. Even the highest general would be pleased at her performance.’ Dath pointed out his truth. Dath was defending my enemy. I was so bent out of shape, I did not register that we were walking into an ambush. With little discussion, we were attacked. ‘Protect my fathers pet!’ I ordered Dath. ‘I think she can take care of herself, she has already taken down two of them.’ Dath pointed out. To my utter shock, the black mist came out of her mouth and noise. The smell of decay surrounded her and filtered out towards us. The only one that didn’t seem out of place was the rabbit and Dath. Everyone has their breaking point of exhaustion, and the rabbit has met hers. Dath and I took down the last of our threats as the last mage attacked the rabbit. She was able to aid herself enough but it was her exhaustion that defeated her. She was projectile backwards into a boulder. I could hear several bones break and her head shattered on impact. While this was all happening Dath attacked the mage. Unable to recover quickly from his attack on the rabbit, the mage was quickly taken over by Dath. “My father is going to kill me!” I rushed over to the rabbit and scooped her up faster than I had ever moved. Both Dath and I ran towards the portal. Zefer was standing on the other side with a group of hunters, “We need healers!” I bellowed. It was not out of fear that the rabbit was injured, it was the worry about how my father was going to react. My mother was running towards us, “What happened?” I carried the rabbit towards my father’s castle, “We were ambushed heading here.” “Take Merna to her chambers!” Zefer snapped her finger and one of the mages took the rabbit from my arms. Mother did a glance at Dath, “You look like you need a few stitches but nothing major.” glancing over me, “the same!” Zefer pushed past my mother, “I have to go and get father, he is going to want to know what is going on!” I glared at my sister as everyone was starting to rush around, ‘Did you call IT by her given name?’ Zefer narrowed her eyes on me, ‘Merna has earned the rights to her name, just like the others. You, of all, should know what she has done!’ Zefer was following mother, ‘Father is in the throne room.’ *Merna* The leads were becoming fewer and further in between. Furthermore, I could feel how my hormones were starting to kick in. Remembering my promise I figured this was a good time to portal back to Chaos. Kudiya, Dath and I were nearing the portal, that had been placed up for us at Chao's main territory, all three of us stopped in our tracks knowing something was not right. Our enemy did not try to hide where they had been. “Did you believe that you could go around the universe and not be noticed?” A voice came from their hiding place. He was the leader of ten individuals who spat at us. I took a step forward, “And what exactly are we doing?” The leader of the group seemed shocked that I would dare to speak out of turn, “Who do you think you are?” “It all depends, who do you believe that I am?” The sassy in me was just building.“Cousin, what are you doing on my father's land?” Kudiya pushed me backwards as he stomped forward. “Give us the hybrid …” The male briefly glanced back at his group, “and my mother will forget your crimes!” He laughed out loud, “Mannel wants this hybrid, nothing more!” “NO!” Kudiya roared. Everyone was shocked, myself included. It was a no brainer, it was easy to tell that Kudiya hated human borns. “You do realize that if you handed me over … A lot of your problems would be solved!” It was a fact that I pointed out. Kudiya growled at me, “I am following orders!” “That is a big mistake on your part … cousin!” The male growled. “Just one more thing …” I interrupted the stare down, “What is it that you believed we were doing? It had to be something important!” “If you must know, hybrid, we have eyes and ears everywhere!” He was gloating, “Your movements have been followed all over the universe, there is not anything that you were doing that we did not find out about!” His sight was glued to me. I cleared my throat, “Yeah! … Kudiya, they know shit about shit!” I was hoping that he understood what I was speaking about. In a low tone, “That is what I figured!” “ATTACK!” The male roared. In a flash, two enemies jumped from their location and grasped me by my arms. One on each side.”A mistake on your part.” I allowed the darkness to take over, willing it to consume those who were touching me. Black mist oozed from my pours latching on to my opponent. Swirling around their arms, moving upwards to their nose, mouth and eyes. Entering their body, slowly suffocating them. They were unable to move as I willed death to devour every bit of their essence. Between Kudiya and Dath they were able to take down seven of the eight remaining individuals. As I was getting ready to make my next move, a mage sent his energy to me. I was not prepared for the blast of energy. With no warning, I was flying backwards. On impact, I hit a large rock. The wind had been taken out of me. My vision was starting to fade as Kudiya ripped the head of the mage clearly off of his body.
