Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 89

The next day, Charles got ready for the meeting he was to have with his father, so he can get all his documents, transferred to him. He walked down to the sitting room, and found James sipping a pineapple juice while waiting for him. “Alright, alright, I’m here. Let’s leave. You’re with the court order, right?” Charles asked, to confirm. “Yes.” James responded firmly as he stood up. Charles nodded his head, and then they both walked out to his car, with his bodyguards, joining in. “Sir, you look really good, today.” Charles’ driver complimented with a happy smile. Charles chuckled, and smacked his lips. “Thank you, John.” He appreciated him, and then leaned backwards on the car seat. They drove off to one of Mr. Lincoln’s companies, and his secretary allowed Charles and James, in, because she recognized Charles, and also knew what he was here for. “Please go in, sir.” She urged, politely. “Thank you.” Charles and James went in, and met a not surprised Mr. Lincoln, and his lawyer, sitting like they were waiting for him. “Let’s get this thing over it, but first, I won’t allow this meeting to go on, if you’re without a court order.” Mr. Lincoln said, with a serious expression. “You need to tone it down, father. I have the court order.” Charles responded, signaling to James to bring it out. Charles knew his father could be cunny. Despite being present at the court, he still demanded for a court order which was so bizarre, and unnecessary. Mr. Lincoln gave him a sneering look, and exhaled sharply before signaling to his lawyer to transfer the documents and funds that belonged to him. After the necessary procedure was gone, Mr. Lincoln applauded, and gave a sinister look. “You have taken all these, and I’m sure you must feel victorious for that. But let me tell you this, I’ll take back every single thing, including that trust fund account you hold dear.” Mr. Lincoln threatened, with anger. Then Carlos and Tyson walked in, surprised to see Charles in the office, so quick. Charles scoffed, and then turned back to Mr. Lincoln. “Well, you can go ahead, and try. A challenge is always exciting, but have this in mind, you’ll always get what you deserve.” Charles spat the words at him, and walked out. “You are a stupid pig, and we are going to teach you a lesson for messing with people like us!” Tyson yelled out in anger, but Charles ignored their whatever. Charles and James did a high-five, and walked into the car. “Drive us back home.” Charles instructed John, his driver. “Yes, boss.” “Gosh! It’s one interesting thing to watch Mr. Lincoln go angry.” James chuckled as he dropped his bag at his foot. “Well, we can’t relax even after this win. My father is a determined and egoistic person. He won’t allow me to go scot-free, easily, until I destroy him completely. So, until then, let’s be on our toes, and be extra careful.” Charles got home, while James had been dismissed. Charles felt quite victorious, just as his father had said, and he wasn’t going to allow anyone’s bitterness, make him feel less victorious. A few years ago, he would never have thought that he would be able to beat his father. He saw his father as someone mighty, and impossible to take down, but now that he was better in status, he could see the possibility, now. He flung his suit on the bed, and pulled down his pants, then walked up to his unfinished bottle of wine which he had left on his bedside desk, then he poured himself, wine in a glass cup. Charles sat down, feeling like a King, and sipped his wine slowly to savor the sweet taste of victory. Somehow, the victory of winning his father felt so much better than the victories he had against other people. He felt quite powerful right now, because to him, he saw his father as the most powerful man, and the one with the highest sins that need to be punished for. “Father, I hope you love my show of power.” Charles voiced out, and a smirk followed after. ADAMS’ HOUSE Things were quite depressing at the Adams’ house, and Mrs. Penny sat alone in the sitting room, thinking about how her life had come to this, in the space of a few months, all because of Charles.Angela walked in with her little bag, strapped to her shoulder, and she plopped down on the couch, feeling exhausted. “Grandmother?” She called out to her when she noticed that she looked spaced out, but Mrs. Adam hadn’t snap out of her thoughts, until Angela tapped her gently. Her eyelids fluttered as she got back to reality. “Oh, Angela, you’re back.” “Yes. I really don’t want you think too much. Everything would be sorted out, soon, I believe.” Angela assured her, with eyes, full of concern. “You have a plan, or have you spoken to Charles?” Mrs. Penny questioned, desperate for a positive answer. “No, grandmother. But I could come up with a plan, soon. I just need time to recuperate from my loss, and how bad things have been.” Angela uttered, and picked up her bag. Mrs. Adam let out a sigh, and the heel of her hand connected to her forehead. “Don’t worry, grandmother. As I said, everything would be sorted out. Now, I have to go to my bedroom to get me some rest.” Angela informed, and headed up to her bedroom as slowly as a snail. She was a bit embarrassed that there was nothing she could do at the moment, but she just needed her grandmother to have that trust in her that she would bounce back when it’s time. But Mrs. Adam on the other hand, had decided to take things into her own hands as she was tired of being disappointed by her grandchildren. They weren’t proving as effective as they were, in the beginning. “Charles shouldn’t be a hard target to take down. If they can’t take him down, I’ll take him down.” She thought to herself, and dialed a particular number. “Yes. I need you on a very special operation, right now. Come over, right now.” Mrs. Adam instructed. She felt better than a minute ago, and she could already feel the positivity in her decision as these people she had called, had a history of success in every difficult task, without a speck of failure. “Now, you’ll regret you tried to step over me, Charles.” Mrs. Adam spoke out with confidence.
