Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 90

Mrs. Penny sat down, waiting for the people she had called, to get here. Soon, a doorbell rang, and she instructed a maid to get the door. Just as she expected, it was the gang whom she had spoken to on the phone that just got here. They were all dressed in black. The leader wore a black suit, and nice shoes to complement it, while the others wore other kind of outfits, but were black. “It’s so nice to finally have a business to do with you, Mrs. Adam.” The leader said as he moved closer to her, and extended his hand for a handshake. “So, you have been hoping to have business with me.” Mrs. Adam replied, and signaled for him to have his seat. “Yes, of course. My boys and I were really delighted to have your call. And we’ll ensure that we’ll sweep you off your feet once we get a hold of the work you want us to venture in.” The leader assured, with a smile. “Oh, I see. My interest is getting piqued, already. Allow my maid to serve you chilled juice, and then we’ll get right to work.” Mrs. Adam said, with a smile as she sat down. She was glad and felt herself to be the real powerful woman. She had it in mind to show her grand children how it is done in the real world, and she hoped that things would work out just the way she wanted it to. Soon, her maid walked in with a tray which held, glasses of pineapple juices. “Help yourself, please.” Mrs. Adam said, politely, and watched as the men took a glass of juice to themselves. “Lovely. Now, I’m ready to hear what you have for us, Mrs. Adam.” The leader voiced out as he dropped the glass of juice. “Excellent.” Mrs. Adam complimented with excitement, then she brought out a photo of Charles, and tossed it on the table to the gang leader. “Hmmm. This is our project?” The gang leader spoke, with his index finger on his philtrum and his thumb, supporting his chin. “Yes. You recognize him?” “Yes, of course. Wasn’t he the governor of this city, but has now stepped down?” “Yeah. But to me, he is nothing but a live-in son-in-law. And I want to teach him a lesson which he would learn in heaven, for thinking because he has wings now, he wants to fly above me.” Mrs. Adam said, with a serious expression.“Alright, ma’am. There is a reason we are set aside when people are calling random gang names. And that’s because we fear no one. If you want us to take down the President, we’ll do that for you, without fear, and it would be a 100% success.” The gang leader boasted. “I love that. So, what do you need to make this a success?” Mrs. Adam questioned, ready to give them whatever they wanted. “Time. All we need is time, and for the payment, we’ll love you to make a 75% payment, in advance.” The gang leader demanded as he picked up his drink again. “Alright, you’ll have it as you want it. Just give me the necessary updates as it should be.” “Noted.” The gang took their last gulp of the drink, and then walked out of Mrs. Adam’s house with confidence. Mrs. Adam felt goosebumps on her skin, and was so excited to watch how things were going to play against Charles. She could already imagine Charles begging at her feet, but she had no intentions to accept his plea once that happened. “Grandmother. I can’t believe this.” Angela appeared out of nowhere, looking shocked. “What can’t you believe? Is it the fact that I couldn’t wait for you to do something or the fact that I called the most infamous gang to take care of Charles?” She uttered, and sat down on the couch. Angela also joined her, looking curious, and even surprised that her grandmother was this serious about getting Charles, killed. “You know that once this gang take over, it means death for the target. I thought it would be best if we let Charles live, and suffer while begging from us, or sort.” “Angela, I just don’t see that anymore. Can’t you tell? Charles seem very intelligent, and always a step ahead of us. So, it’s best to just get rid of him, once and for all.” Mrs. Adam suggested, and picked up her wine, and drank it. “Hmmm. You’re right, grandmother. But can you tell the gang to somehow bring him over first before finishing him off? I want to sneer at him and make him feel miserable before he goes off to meet his dead mother.” Angela said, with excitement. “I’ll think about it. This isn’t something we can waste time on.” Mrs. Adam replied, and stared at the wall, waiting for positive news. AT CHARLES’ HOME Charles was right in his bedroom, with his book of plans. He had messed up his father’s ego and taken back what belonged to him, so the next thing he needed to do was to take a break from dealing with his enemies. He wanted to focus on something else, which was building up that idea he once got from the system. He was going to build his own very company which would be the greatest anyone has ever heard. “Hmmm. I might need some manpower, or people who are very intelligent on this.” He said out, while staring into blank space. All these were just suggestions which he might not go for at the end of the day. Then he stood up, and poured himself more wine and then headed to his balcony. The cool breeze caressed his skin, making him feel really accomplished. His mind drifted off to the Adams. He felt they were too quiet, and he knew the kind of person, Mrs. Penny was, that she wasn’t one to back down easily. “Anyways, do your worst, I will always be one step ahead of you.”
