Revenge of the Rejected
Mr. Darwin looked at Charles with keen interest, and wondered what exactly he had to say that would benefit him a million times. He knew that Charles was a business guru, so he counted today as a rare lucky day, and was willing to do anything which Charles wanted him to do. “I’m all ears, Mr. Lincoln.” He replied, with composed excitement. “I’ll advise you not to go on with that deal anymore.” Charles spoke out, with confidence. “That’s Mr. Mark Adam. I would really love to take your advice, but Mr. mark is going to lose the money he invested if I decide to stop this deal as that’s what we signed to.” Mr. Darwin explained. Charles scoffed, and smiled as he shook his head lightly. “I feel it’s best if you cut off that sympathy, because the person involved doesn’t know how to deal business with a sincere heart. He would make you go bankrupt if you’re not careful, as well.” “Are you for real?” Mr. Darwin exclaimed in disbelief. “If you need proof about that, you’ll get it.” Charles said, with a smile. He was happy as he could feel the positivity in the air. He was certain that Mark’s plans would be destroyed, and he would have nowhere to go. After discussing with Mr. Darwin for a while, and extending their meeting to some other time. He got into his car, and ordered his driver to take him to Rosaline’s house. He was ready for the outing which he had asked Rosaline to prepare for, and he felt today was also the best day for it. He was interested in knowing her more, and he felt it was also one of the best ways to get to know a person more. Soon, he got to her house, and Rosaline was all dressed up, and also looking excited to go out with Charles. Rosaline didn’t know that Charles would be this nice to her, and she was grateful for the fact that he was making her happy, despite that she wasn’t his mother. “I hope you don’t mind us going to the zoo?” Charles inquired as they got into the car. “I don’t mind. In fact, this is my first time, going to the zoo, and I really appreciate this opportunity you have given to me.” She said, with a smile as her eyes glistened with sparkly tears which were fought back from pouring out. “It’s my pleasure. Please feel free to enjoy yourself to the fullest.” Charles urged, with a wide smile. They both smiled, and looked forward to what the journey beheld of them until they arrived at the zoo. Rosaline was stunned, and stoked. She couldn’t believe that this was a reality, her reality. She was excited, but managed to compose herself, and hoping she would be able to do that the more she got stoked. “Let’s go to see the lions first.” Charles suggested as he slid his hands into his pockets, with a smile on his face. He was glad as he saw her happy, and that he was the one making her feel excited. “Alright then.” Rosaline responded as she looked around, with an expression of awe on her face. Charles held her hand as they headed towards the Lions’ cage, believing that she would feel better, and calm with that. Following the directions given to them wasn’t all that hard, so there wasn’t much path straying. While heading towards where the lions were caged, they sighted the monkeys jumping around in excitement as a few kids offered bananas to them. Rosaline and Charles chuckled as one of the children got scared when the monkeys forcefully collected the banana from her. “Monkeys can be scary, sometimes.” Rosaline spoke out softly. “That’s true.” Moving on, they discovered two love birds, and Rosaline admired their beautiful colors, and the way they stuck together. She smiled, and wished she had something to feed them as it would really make her happy. Soon, they got to where the lions were caged, and Rosaline looked stunned, and her mind blew as fireworks displayed sparks of different colors, in her head. “Wow. This… This is wonderful.” Rosaline exclaimed as her eyes widened as she studied their strong bones, and charismatic strolls. “The zoo here feeds them well, and make them live in a place which is 95% alike their natural habitat. These are real lions.” Charles lectured as he moved closer to her. After taking a long-interested look at the lions, they decided to move over to the hyenas’ cage. They were so smelly, and looked uglier than the way they depicted them in Lion King. Charles covered his nose, disgusted by the smell which was really thick as they moved closer to the cage. “I think we should just go look at something else.” Charles suggested as he backed out from the cage.“Sure.” “I’m so thirsty right now. I’ll get water for both of us. You’re thirsty, right?” Charles asked like a gentleman. “Yes, I am.” “Alright, I’ll get that. Is there anything else you perhaps have in mind to eat?” Charles inquired, hoping that Rosaline would feel free enough to speak. “I don’t mind if they have snacks around.” Rosaline answered, calmly. “Alright, I’ll be right back. You can keep staring at the animals while I go get snacks, and water.” Charles got to where they sold snacks, and water, and when I got back to Rosaline, he saw her feeding baby monkeys which he didn’t notice were around us. He guessed the zoo keeper must have given her what to feed them since she probably was interested in doing that. He smiled, and felt she was a lovely and calm person whom anyone would love to have as a mother. To him, it felt as if his mother’s spirit had jumped into hers, just to console him for a while. Rosaline then noticed him, and walked up to him with a smile, and sense of achievement. “I was finally able to feed those baby monkeys. That was so cute.” She chuckled lightly, and collected the snacks and water which I handed over to her, with a smile. They sat down under a shed, and began to eat in silence until Rosaline broke the silence. “Charles, I think I have something to tell you which you need to know about.” She voiced out, looking a bit nervous.
