Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 56

In the evening, Charles sat at his balcony, staring at the stars and the beautiful night sky while he sipped his wine. The breeze was soothing, and wonderful that it made him feel relaxed and calm. Suddenly, the system appeared right in his front, and he looked at the instructions that was given to him with keen interest. “You are to spend 10 million dollars in 18 hours.” The system disappeared, and then his phone beeped, alerting him that he been credited. He took a deep breath, and then thought deeply on what he could use the 10 million dollars for. Charles stood up from his seat, and leaned on the rails of the balcony, looking at the streets, and dazzling lights at a distance. “What can I use these 10 million dollars for?” He muttered under his breath as he looked around. He had gotten literally everything he ever desired, and had even gotten business partnerships which he was delighted in. Now, there was nothing that needed him to throw money in at that moment. He paced around slowly with the wine glass in his hand, and then ruffled his hair as he was finding it hard to think of what he could do. He knew that if he slept without thinking on what to do with the money, he would have lost a few hours, and he would be running at a risk of failing the task which he wouldn’t want for that to happen. So, he sat down, and took another deep breath to calm his body, and mind. “Yes!” He said sharply after pondering for a while. He had just thought of the perfect way to spend the money with ease. After he had found out what to do, he felt more relaxed, and this made him feel ready to sleep. Charles gulped down the remnant of the wine, and walked into his room to have his bedtime. He laid down on the bed, and in no time, he slept off. The next day, Charles got ready for his plan, and contacted Vera who got to his house in about thirty minutes after the call. “Alright, I want you to spread the word to less privileged people that I will be sharing necessities at Light Avenue, so they all should come. The maximum capacity should be about 50, 000 people.” Charles instructed Vera, and she got to work. They dove off to the venue they wanted to share things, and Charles stayed in his car for an hour before Vera gathered the things they were going to share to the public. They had gotten food, clothes, learning materials for children, and more. Charles smiled as he watched from a distance how people gathered, and were happy as they received their gifts. He felt so much joy in his heart that he was able to come up with an idea that brought him overflowing joy in his heart. He attended to a few business texts, and resumed back to watching the people accept his gifts with love, and how they blessed him with loud voices. After Vera and the others were done giving out all they had bought, the system appeared before Charles again. “Congratulations, you have earned 5 points for completing your task successfully. You can choose any of the skills below: A new business idea, language skills, mind reading skills.” Charles sighed, and looked carefully at the options. He wanted to ensure he picked the best option that would save him when he needed that help. “A new business idea is a new one. Looks enticing.” He thought to himself. So, he picked the new business idea option as he felt a new business idea would bring in more money, and connections. “You have successfully picked a new business idea as your option.” The system notified, and disappeared. Charles leaned back on the car seat, and waited until Vera wrapped up what she was doing. Soon, she was done, and they were ready to drive away. “We’ll be heading off to the Adams’ company, so take us there.” Charles instructed his driver, then looked at Vera who looked a bit exhausted. “It must have been really exhausting. You did so well today.” Charles commended her with a smile. “Thank you. Those people were so happy when we shared those gifts to them. Some or most of them could have been worrying about a lot of things, but you coming through for them was like a big miracle to them.” Vera said, with a smile. “I’m glad I was able to do that. I was thinking hard on what to do with the money I wanted to give out, and the idea just popped up.” Charles uttered, and placed his phone beside him. “That was such a great idea.” “Pull up, driver. I’ll like to get something at this restaurant. Is there anything you want, Vera?” Charles asked.“Uhm… Sure.” They both went down, and walked into a restaurant to get something to eat. Charles ordered a hamburger, and a cola drink while Vera ordered French fries and chicken. Charles had been feeling pangs of hunger especially because he didn’t eat a thing before he left home, and the day was beginning to seem stressful as he still had the Adams’ tech company which he wanted to go to. He also bought something for his driver as well, and his driver appreciated him, glad that he would have something to munch on when Charles and Vera go out of the car. Charles and Vera were nodding their heads in acknowledgement of how nice the fast foods were and while Charles was eating and enjoying his, an idea popped up in his mind. It was quite a great idea, an idea which anyone could possibly pay billions of dollars for. He smiled as he calculated the income and connections the idea could bring, and he nodded his head for satisfaction. Then he brought out a notepad, and wrote down the idea to ensure he doesn’t forget it. “Just wonderful.” He thought to himself with a wide smile on his face.
