Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 55

Charles stood gallantly, and folded his arms, waiting for George to get to him. “What’s going on here, Charles! What the hell are you doing to my companies!” George yelled angrily. Charles scoffed, and sneered at him before he decided to speak. “So, we meet again. Firstly, do not forget you’re speaking to the Governor, and you know I can do anything, right?” George bit his lower lips, trying to restrain himself from getting too angry. “But that doesn’t give you the audacity to lock down my companies over some grudge that should have been forgotten, months ago.” George spat out. “Well, that’s why you should watch the people you oppress or step on their toes. I’m sure many people would come for you if they are each given a chance to payback what you’ve done to them.” Charles smirked, and unfolded his arms. “Still, you don’t have the right to do this!” George yelled, unable to control his temper. “You are still that small boy I knew a few months ago. I can still trample on you.” George threatened, almost popping his eyes out of their sockets. “Tch! You should not step your boundaries, George, or I’ll ensure you spend a long term in jail. As you can see, your companies have committed heinous acts that would land you in jail.” Charles threatened, resuming his cold expression. He walked away, bumping shoulders with George arrogantly. As Charles walked away, the Governor wished he could give him a punch in the face, and ridicule him in front of the public, but he knew more than anyone, what the consequence could be. His heart was filled with anger, and he felt he had to direct that to those who had eaten up his money like leeches, and brought no results. George drove back home after calling Mark. He had decided to deal with them separately. As soon as he got home, he was served a chilled drink to try to push down the embarrassment and anger he was feeling at the moment. Then he sat back on the couch, waiting for Mark to walk in through the door. After for what seemed like an hour, Mark walked into George’s sitting room, and greeted him, but George reacted by throwing a vase at him which Mark dodged, and a look of surprise came on his face. “You just… you just tried to hit the vase at me.” Mark spoke out, baffled at George’s reaction. “Exactly! Because I can’t believe I dealt with a moron like you, and your friend. I was thinking I had met with the smartest people as your schemes were looking potential, but then, this is what I get?” George lamented with anger. “We are truly smart, but then, it seems that Charles was just one step ahead of us. If you look at it, he only got in because of the votes and his personal deeds to a few people. And that was enough, against you, who has been oppressing the people.” “What are you trying to say?” George questioned, clenching his fist. “If we were dealing with someone who had not offended the people so deep, our plans would have worked out smoothly. So, we are not to blame. Also, Angela is not my friend, but my sister.” Mark revealed, and scoffed. “What! Are you for real? So, you both scammed me or what do I call this act?” “Whatever you think it is. You have no power again. You’re basically somewhere around our level. I heard the two companies of yours which are doing well, has been closed down by Charles.” Mark chuckled, and sneered at George. George felt humiliated, and could almost stand to choke Mark, but he knew he didn’t stand a chance against him physically. “Also, it’s best you do not act rashly, because, I could easily expose your transactions with me, and all. Then ensure you go to jail.” Mark threatened, and kicked the remains of the vase as he walked out on him. George was in a fit of rage, and shouted angrily, then threw fragile objects around. He was obviously regretting he made a deal with them as they probably now see him as a low class. AT LINCOLN’S HOME. Tyson, Carlos, and their father, Lincoln were in the sitting room, with a cup of coffee, placed before them. “That Charles can’t be trusted. He is devious. He intentionally became Governor so as to automatically win this property case, and that’s cheating.” Tyson voiced out, unable to drink his cup of coffee. “I can’t just imagine bowing to him as the Governor. I’ll rather pray not to meet him.” Carlos added, with a cold expression. “That’s how he behaves. He is a coward, and can’t afford to lose to us. Now that he is Governor, he would be able to do anything.” Lincoln said as he sipped his tea. “I heard he locked down two of the former Governor’s prominent companies.” Tyson uttered as he adjusted himself on the sofa. “Just imagine that. Why would he do that? He just wants to show everyone how he can maneuver his way around things now. More like a warning for people not to step on his toes anymore.” Carlos scoffed, and picked up his cup of coffee to drink. “Well, I don’t think he would act as rash as that. Charles only get back at people who have crossed him. So, the governor must have done something to him to make him shut down his main companies.” Lincoln corrected them, and exhaled. “That’s why we need to teach him a lesson. It also means he is going to get back at us. Dad, don’t you have anything you can use against him?” Tyson asked, inquisitively. “That’s true, father. You watched him grow, so you could have noticed any of his weakness which you can use now.” Tyson added. Both sons stared at their father, waiting for him to say something which would shine the rays of their hope again. “Hmmm. I think I do, and I didn’t expect to use it now, but I guess I will have to.” Lincoln smirked as he rubbed his chin slowly.
