Revenge of the Rejected
The receptionist came out and knelt down before him, pleading earnestly as she rubbed her palms together with teary eyes, “Please don’t do this to me. I realized my mistakes, but there was no way to get to you.” She continued to plead. “You’re making things worse by lying. You can’t have realized your mistakes that day, just with me. And that’s because you have been doing this for long, and don’t feel remorse. You were after the little gain politicians give you when you boost their ego.” Charles sneered at her, disgustingly. “Please sir. I have realized my mistakes. Just give me another chance.” Tears began to stroll down to her cheeks as she continued to plead without stopping. “I have made up my mind, and I do not want you to destroy the reputation which Auto Air Airline has built for themselves. To be sincere with you, I was shocked that Auto Air Airline operated that way, but I’m hoping it’s just you and a few more like you doing that.” “I promise it’s not from the management, sir.” The manager defended immediately, then he turned to the lady with an angry look. “Now, leave this company, and never come back.” He ordered, pointing his hand to the exit door. “Governor, please, I’ll do anything to make up for this. Give me another chance.” The lady still continued pleading. “I think you should call the security, because she doesn’t look like she’s ready to leave.” The manager immediately called the security guards, and Charles watched as they dragged her out along with her belongings. Charles felt a bit more relieved as one of the pests here had been gotten rid of, and she would serve as a lesson to learn, to others. “I’m so sorry for the inconvenience she could have caused you. Please kindly overlook it.” The manager pleaded sincerely. “It’s fine.” “What do you need? I’ll personally take you through the various private jets we have.” The manager offered, with a smile. “Okay, I appreciate that.” Charles and Vera were taken through the various private jets, and when Charles saw the one, he liked, he picked it, and that same day, he purchased his own private hangar to keep the private jet. “Thank you for doing business with us.” The manager shook hands with Charles, with delight.“It’s my pleasure doing business with you as well.” Charles replied with joy and satisfaction in his heart. Soon, both Charles and Vera walked out and got into the car. “So, what next on the agenda?” Vera asked, inquisitively as she checked off his list of accomplishments. “I want us to go to Mrs. Adam’s tech company which I acquired. I need to have a meeting with the staff and executive members, so the company won’t turn out to be like Auto Air Airline.” Charles replied and shut his eyes as he leaned against the car seat, to relax. Vera smiled, and did the same as well. After a while, they got to the company, and were greeted by the workers as they made their way to his office. The manager walked to his office, and knocked on the door. “Come in.” Charles urged as he sat comfortably on the chair. “Good day, Sir.” The manager greeted him with respect. “Yeah, good day. I need you to set up a meeting for the staff and executive members and I, right now.” Charles instructed as he picked up his pen to scribble something on the paper, and handed it over to the manager. The manager looked at it, and nodded. It was an exclusion of the staff and exclusive members he didn’t want there. Charles got ready for the meeting, and went with Vera to the conference room, and the company workers started strolling in twos and threes. After everyone were complete, Charles stood up and introduced himself properly, and so did others. “So, I want to set some things straight, briefly. First, I want you all to have the sense of welcoming customers well. Do not look down on them even if they look like they can’t afford anything. Our policy is to make our customers feel like Kings and Queens here.” Charles paused, and then drank water. “Any customer that leaves here feeling like a King or Queen, would always come back, and even stick with us to the end of time. That’s one thing. Now, another thing is I’m going to give each field an assignment which is to give me a list of suggestions of what can be done to make this company progress. I’ll take the submissions the next time I come here.” Charles instructed, and sat down. Everyone clapped for him, not having anything more to say, because he had already touched one of the things they burned to ask or talk about when Mrs. Adam was still the CEO. Charles and Vera were now heading home, and about thirty minutes since they got home, James walked in.“Congratulations again, my Governor.” James said, with a smile as he picked up a glass of wine to drink. “Thank you, James.” Charles replied with a slight smile. “I heard about the news; I mean Auto Air Airline issue. You cleared it up. That lady really deserved it, and that calls for the former Governor’s punishment as well.” James uttered and took his seat. Charles went quiet, rubbing his chin with both his thumb and index finger as he looked into space. He smiled to himself, and exhaled. “It seems you have a ready-made plan for him, and that means we have something to do tomorrow as well. So, what’s our agenda tomorrow as I know we have a lot on deck.” James asked, excitedly. “No! Nothing for tomorrow.” Vera interrupted abruptly. Charles glanced at her, looking baffled as to why she had suddenly said that when there was obviously a lot to do on ground. “Charles, please do not forget that tomorrow is your mother’s death anniversary, and you need to visit her, and make that day free for just her.” Vera reminded him.
