Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 247

“We’ll talk more on this, tomorrow. As for today, you know how sacred it is for me. I won’t be engaging in any work, no matter how pressing it is.” Charles said, standing on his ground. “I understand, boss. It’s noted.” James replied, acknowledging what was more important to Charles, at this moment. They both stayed at the cemetery until it was 6pm. “Alright, it’s time to leave.” Charles urged as he rose to his feet. James also rose to his feet and helped Charles pack up the few things he had set up and then placed it in the car. “Thanks for your help, James. You should go home to rest and then tomorrow, we’ll look into the problem we have. Thanks for your concern again.” Charles appreciated him and then got into his car. James smiled and then walked to his car as well, then got into it and stared the engine immediately Charles drove off. He was glad that Charles was okay and nothing bad had happened to him, but he also hoped that their current problem at work would have a solution. They had gone through enough hurdles to add another one to the list, so soon. But then, he was certain that they would still find a solution to it as they had always proven to come out victorious in any problem. When he got home, he was surprised to see Amelia who jumped on him the moment she set his eyes on him. She was so happy to see him and was also glad he wasn’t looking stressed. They both had a lovely time together which made James forget his worries for a moment. The next day, James got ready for work, ready to face whatever could be expected at work today. “Ensure you don’t stress yourself. Things are going to work out, so do not overthink it.” Amelia said to him with a smile. “Thanks honey. I won’t think too much about it. Alright, I got to go.” James said as he got into the car, then started the car. “Bye.” Amelia waved at him, looking so cute as she smiled widely and happily. James also waved back and then drove off in no time. Charles on the other hand was also on his way to the company, thinking about the whole vibranium situation.“System, find out the whereabouts of Mr. Jayla and access the worth of the vibranium he has in possession.” Charles instructed the system. The system loaded for a while, then displayed the information on the screen. Charles was quite amazed at how much vibranium Mr. Jayla had, and wondered how only he was blessed with so much Vibranium. No one knew his source, neither would he at least give the media a hint of where and how he gets the vibranium. “System, please access where Mr. Jayla gets his vibranium from.” “NOT ACCESSIBLE!” The notification displayed boldly on the system, blinking like it was emphasizing on how impossible it is to milk out information about or from Mr. Jayla. Soon, he got to the company and when he got down, he was accompanied by his security guards who stood at the entrance of the company. “Good morning, sir.” They greeted him as they joined him in walking inside the company. “Morning.” Charles responded. As they walked further into the company, heading for the elevator, many more employees greeted him with joy in their hearts and he acknowledged them all until he got into the elevator. But just before the elevator doors closed, his eyes caught the sight of James who was walking briskly towards him. “Hold the elevator doors.” He instructed his guards and they pressed the open button just to keep the elevator doors from closing up. “Good morning, boss.” James greeted as he walked in immediately. “Morning, James. How’s the day going?” “Fine, boss.” “Alright, so, I’ll need you to call up the production team one more time for a meeting in about thirty minutes. I need to know if there can be any other alternative, rather than having to meet with Mr. Jayla.” “Alright, I’ll get to it, boss.” James responded and when the elevator doors opened up, they parted ways. Charles waited patiently in his office for James to be back, informing him of the production team now all prepared. And he didn’t have to wait too long before he was informed that the production team were now all seated in the conference room. Then he rose to his feet, picked up his phone and headed to the conference room with James. “Good morning, boss.” They all greeted him as he walked in. “Good morning to you all.” Charles responded, and then drew back his seat before sitting on it comfortably. “So, I was told that you all had come up with an idea, and to perfect that idea, the use of vibranium is needed.” “Yes, boss.” The team leader spoke. “Unfortunately, the only person who has this in possession is Mr. Jayla. And we all know how selfish or withdrawn Mr. Jayla has proven to be. I may have to ask you dig up another idea.” “Boss, we understand how this seems impossible, but I feel we should try our luck. We can’t seem to bring up any other idea that’s more perfect than this.” The team leader spoke again on behalf of the others. Charles understood this and in fact, he himself was curious to know how good their idea was going to turn out. He wanted to give them a chance as he didn’t want to kill their creativity all because of the scarcity of the product they were in need of. He was going to try at least, once. “Alright, I’ll see what I can do. By tomorrow, I want to at least see the physical idea, at least.” “We will certainly do that.” “Alright, dismissed.” Charles voiced out, rose to his feet, then walked out of the conference room. “I hope I’m lucky enough to get the skills I need.” He muttered under his breath as he made his way back to his office.
