Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 226

Charles looked down at Andrew's hand and noticed that he was holding something that looked like a flash drive. “Is that what you were trying to make?” Charles asked, out of curiosity “Yes it is. This is powerful enough to destroy any bombing that is connected to you. Come on, sit over here.” Andrew urged as he led Charles to a chair which was before a system. ''So, what are we to do here?’’ Charles asked, wondering what was next. “Alright, I'm going to get some information regarding the bombing related to you.” Then Andrew slipped the flash-drive into Charles’ chest pocket and then concentrated on the system right before him. Charles watched as Andrew did his job on the system while he tapped his fingers on his lap impatiently. After a while, Andrew pressed a particular button and then turned to Charles. “Done.” He voiced out with a smile. Then he moved the system closer to Charles and showed him the places which the bomb had been installed in. “So, the only thing we need to do is to detonate the bomb with this stuff looking like a flash drive. And I call it the mother controller.” Andrew spoke, feeling cool about the fact that he had made something he felt was really nice. “Alright, let's get this done with, then.” Then Andrew pressed a tiny button on the flash and he expressed a satisfied smile on his face. “So, it has all been settled? Like, there's no way he can use those bombs to threaten me anymore?” Charles asked, not wanting to celebrate too fast. “Yes, he can't. Those bombs can't even be activated anymore. It's more like fuel mixed with water. The fuel is no longer useable.” Andrew confirmed, feeling very elated as well. “Alright then. Then, there's one thing to do.” Charles rose to his feet and then began to dial the strange number which texted him earlier. The phone rang several times, but no one answered the call. Then he sent a text instead. “I know who you are, so answer the damn phone.”He waited for a while before trying to put a call through to the number, but before he could try to dial the number again, he got a call from the number. Then he smirked. “I see you could have also found out that those bombs have been detonated.” Charles uttered under his breath. After his phone rang for a while, he finally answered the call. “And how did you find out that it was me?” Longman questioned calmly, although Charles sensed that he was only trying to act calm. “Well, isn't it obvious? You used a bomb threat on me, the last time, and now, you are doing the same thing.” “Anyone could have taken interest in ruining your life with a bomb, Charles.” “But you aren't denying it right now which makes it more obvious you are the one behind this particular one.” Charles spoke as he walked around step by step. Longman chuckled and let out a deep sigh. “Well, you're correct. But then, there's something that baffles me, Charles.” Longman spoke, now making the conversation sound really serious. “And what's that?” Charles asked, enjoying the conversation. He knew where Longman was headed, so he only waited for him to speak out. Andrew smiled as he watched Charles speak with Longman. He was glad that he was able to help him and hoped that he would be able to handle it himself from here. With the little help he had been able to render to him since they met, he felt Charles’ mother would be so happy wherever she was, and it was more like he was repaying the good deeds she did to him, when she was alive. “The last time I planted a bomb in James’ body, it somehow got detonated and I really don't know how such a complicated bomb was detonated. I didn't suspect you because at first, you didn't know how to go about it.” “Hmmm.” “But this time again, this seems like you have a hand in the detonation.” “Well, the good always prevail, Longman. I know nothing of what you're trying to say. But I think it's high time we meet. All you're doing is enough.” Charles spoke, now making his tone sound serious. “Oh, I see. Do you really think you do not deserve all the things I've tried to do to you? Well, you deserve more than these. Just so you know, this isn't the end. You dare try to outsmart me at the contest? I will ensure you regret you ever did that.” Longman threatened, with anger rising in his chest. “You played foul first. How could you shoot James and then plant a bomb in him!” Charles yelled, also getting annoyed at how despicable Longman was proving to be. Andrew stood up from where he was and moved closer to Charles, trying to ensure everything was okay. “That's because you didn't want to partner up with me, and that's totally understandable. That's what happens in business.” Longman voiced out and laughed irritatingly. “Then I apply the same words to this situation. This is what business is when it comes to dangerous people like you, and I will be the one to ensure you regret it. Your bombs were detonated, right? Well, you don't know what next is coming for you. Just have this in mind; I'm coming for you and when I do, you won't know what hit you.” Charles threatened and then hung up the phone. Andrew then clapped, just so the atmosphere won't seem that tense. “I guess he was being a stubborn mule.” Andrew uttered and slipped his hands into his pockets. “Yeah. Well, I'll have to show him where stubborn mules end up. Andrew, I need you again.” Charles said, looking at Andrew with a sober expression. “Well, I'm always at your service. Tell me. What do you need?” “I need you to track Longman. Track his wife and his kids, if he has any. It's time he understands the effect of what he does.”
