Revenge of the Rejected
Charles patted Tyson on the shoulder. "I advise you to start working hard for your money. Instead of sitting at home and barking orders to people, you should get up and work. You don't want to be embarrassed every time your father disappoints you. Be a man." Tyson shoved Charles' hands away. "Says the stupid illegitimate son that was kicked away. You should be happy to be standing in the same building as me." Charles shook his head. "I can see you haven't changed even after all these years. I'm trying to advise you to stop depending on your father for money but you're too proud to accept my advice. I'm no longer the person you think I am, Tyson." Tyson chuckled. "I don't need advice from a wretched man like you. Today is your lucky day but I promise you that your luck will run out. You may have succeeded in disguising as an important person today but you're still a nobody in this city. Very soon, your lies will be exposed and everyone will see through your disguise." When Charles realized that Tyson was never going to listen to him, he walked away. "Mr Charles," the manager returned with the documents for the car. "Everything is ready and we have also registered the car. Would you like us to drop it off at your residence?” Charles turned to Vera. "I think it's better he drops it off at my house. Don't you think so too?" Vera nodded. "Yes, that's a good idea." "You can drop it off at my residence." Charles said to the manager. "You should assign your most responsible staff to do that. I don't want any scratch on my car or an accident on the way due to reckless driving." "I will take it there myself," the manager was beaming with smiles. He was happy to serve Charles and be close to a man like him. "What is your residential address?" "Diamond homes and residence estate," Charles responded and the manager's eyes widened with shock. "I live at the only condo in the entire estate. You can drop the car in my garage." Tyson who was overhearing their conversation almost choked on Charles words. Diamond homes and residence? It was the largest real estate company in the city and only high class families lived there. How could Charles afford a home there? And not just any house, a Condo. He didn't understand what was happening but he knew that Charles was no longer the poor illegitimate son that was kicked out. He had suddenly become rich out of nowhere and could afford a luxurious lifestyle. Within him, he believed Charles was either lying or posing as someone else. There was no possible way he could have enough money to afford a condo in Diamond homes. "Wow," The manager shook Charles hands. "You're really one of the most humble billionaires I have seen in this city." Tyson scoffed. "Billionaire my foot. I'm sure he is merely posing like a rich man with someone's money. The Charles I know can't even afford a three square meal." The manager ignored Tyson's remark and continued to speak with Charles. He knew that getting acquainted with a man like Charles was the best decision to make. "If you ever feel the need to get a new car or one of our latest models, please don't hesitate to reach out to me." The manager handed Charles his business card. "You can call me before coming down here so I can offer you our available models." Charles took the card and nodded. "Thank you. I'll surely remember to do that." Tyson watched with anger and disbelief as the manager and Charles were chatting like best friends. Usually, he used to command so much authority at Visiondot that whenever he arrived, the salesmen would argue over who will attend to him. Now, no one was even batting an eyelash in his direction. He was standing alone, receiving bad comments from people who witnessed the altercation between him and Charles. "I'm glad that Mr Tyson has been finally put in his place. He's always disrespectful and proud whenever he comes here." He heard one of the staff say. "Even after boasting about his father's wealth, he couldn't afford our latest model. Oh, such a shame." "You should have seen the look on his face when his father hung up the phone. I'm sure he was so embarrassed." Tyson hid his face as he heard all the things people were saying about him. All of a sudden, he was no longer worshipped. Everyone had turned against him because of Charles. Charles walked up to him before leaving. "I hope you think about my advise." He smiled, before walking away. Tyson gritted his teeth in anger as Charles left Visiondot. He couldn't believe he would have the guts to speak to him like that. Fueled with anger, he marched up to the manager. "How dare you disrespect me in front of that good for nothing man? Do you know the consequences of what you’ve done?” The manager cocked an eyebrow. "The only good for nothing man I see here is you.” Tyson laughed bitterly. "You think this is funny, right? I asked to buy your latest model and you sold it to that crap. I demand a replacement immediately. I want the same model within 24 hours." The manager couldn't believe his ears. The same man who couldn't afford their latest model was trying to throw orders at him. "You must joking, Mr. Tyson. You should learn to accept defeat and walk away." "Defeat?" Tyson spat. "That was merely nothing. If you don't want your company to suffer greatly, I suggest you do exactly as I have said. Get me the exact same model you just sold to Charles or——" "Or what?" The manager burst into laughter. "Will your father come here to arrest me? Don't you think we are all tired of hearing about your father? What can you do for yourself?" "I can see you want to lose your job." Tyson threatened. "I'll make sure that you regret today. When I'm done with you, you'll beg me to forgive you. I'm only giving you 24 hours to get a replacement of that car. If you fail to do so, you'll see what I can do." "I would have taken your threat more seriously if you had the money to buy the Ferrari." There was a staring contest between the manager and Tyson. "But like I saw, you can't even afford half of the money. Because you decided to humiliate my best buyer, you will be barred from this company forever." Tyson's jaw dropped in shock. What had suddenly happened to his reputation as the son of a billionaire? Why was everyone disrespecting him? "Are you threatening me? Do you really want to see what my father can do?" "I'm not threatening you. I'm telling you that if you're still in this place in the next five minutes, I'll get my security personnel to throw you and your bodyguards out. And for once, can't you make threats without involving your father? Are you a man or a child?" Tyson saw the look of anger in the manager's eyes and decided to retreat. "Fine," he beckoned to his body guards. "I promise you that I will be back for you. I promise that you'll regret what you have done today." With that, he marched out of Visiondot in anger. "Call my personal assistant and tell her to get me everything she knows about Charles Lincoln. I want to know his business, and every little detail about his life. He has messed with the wrong person." Tyson ordered one of his bodyguards who quickly placed a call to his personal assistant.
