Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 100

George woke up, and met himself in a well-lit room which was receiving a good amount of sunlight. There weren’t decorations on the walls, and the room looked dry, and old. It was more like they had put him in a room-like-basement. After scanning everywhere with his eyes, then he noticed that he was tied up, and left hanging in mid-air. “Hello? Is anyone there? Please let me down. I’ll give you anything you want, just let me go.” George pleaded, earnestly. Then he noticed the masked man and his men, coming out of a corner. “Wow. He is awake. Get me a chair to enjoy the wonderful view.” The masked man requested, with excitement. As one of his goons dropped a chair, politely for him, he sat down, and let out a satisfied sigh. “Alright, bring in the specie.” He instructed, and crossed his legs, staring at George who was looking lost. “Please I…I know I… may have wronged you or something. But… but I can settle it with a huge amount of money. How much do you need?” George stuttered, and fluttered his eyelids in nervousness. “Look at this old man try to negotiate.” The masked man laughed mockingly. Then George found out that they were bringing a big glass of water which was home to different species of wild fishes. “Oh, n…n…no. Please don’t do this to me.” George pleaded, with fear, rising in his heart. “It’s too late, George. When you were on seat, you treated my family and I, like bullshit, and because of you, they lost their lives. I became this, because of you. So, there is no way I can spare you, George.” George felt horrified, and he let out shaky breaths as cold sweat broke all over his body. “I…I’m sorry. Please give me another chance.” “I’m not in for any fun, so just let the machine lay him in, slowly.” The masked man ordered, and leaned back on his chair to watch as George begged for his life. The rope which George was tied to, began to release him gradually into the fish tank, and this made George shout so loud, but they all laughed the more he shouted. Soon, he was close to the horrible fishes, and they were about to jump on him to enjoy the delicacies on his body when everyone heard a loud sound, coming from outside.“Shit! We could have been ambushed. Throw him into the fish tank. He has to die before he is…” Before the masked man could complete his words, cops dashed in, and surrounded them all with guns. “Your hands in the air!” “Shit!” The masked man cursed out loud. Then Charles and James walked in, but James immediately went to put a stop to the machine that wanted to end George’s life. “So, you tried to double up on me, right?” The masked man uttered angrily. “You were the one who overstepped your boundaries.” Charles replied, and the cops took him away. Then Charles glanced at George who was still looking horrified, and pale. He had experienced a near-death experience, hopefully that would teach him a great lesson. George was taken to the hospital for check-ups, and he was admitted because of some injuries and injection he got from the masked man, and his goons. Charles walked into his ward, and George sat up, wearing an angry look. “How dare you set me up, Charles?” He shot the question at him, with his eyebrows, raised. “I didn’t plan to set you up. They wanted you, and because they wanted you, they hacked into my account, and took all my money. The only way to get it back was to hand them over to you.” “And so, you did? I trusted you!” George yelled, and then coughed as he squeezed his chest tight. “Tch! I didn’t plan to leave as you saw for yourself how I saved you. I heard you weren’t even planning to give them the whole 5 million dollars. You’re still filled with so much greed, George, and it will implicate you one day.” George became speechless because he knew he was really guilty on that one, and he hoped that Charles wasn’t planning to punish him for that deed. Charles leaned closer to his ears, and whispered. “When you get better, leave this city, or I’ll keep using you as bait for dangerous things, whether you agree to it, or not. This is an advice, not a drill.” Charles said to him, and stood upright back, with a smile. Then he walked out of George’s ward, and headed out of the hospital. Charles brought out his phone, and put a call through to James.“Alright, now that I got my money back, let’s head off back to that company.” Charles and James drove off to the real-estate company in time, and when they got there, the manager was glad to see them. “Welcome back, sir. I assume you’re ready to purchase the building.” The manager spoke eagerly. “Yes.” Charles responded calmly. He had gathered all the money he could, without borrowing a dime. He was only bent on achieving that dream, and he would do anything just to make it come true. Soon, they got into signing the deal, and when they were done with all the paperwork, Charles could now proudly call himself the owner of the building. He called Vera immediately, and asked her to gather those that had shown interest in the publication she made, the other day. Vera did as he said, and they were all given the address of the building. “I’m wowed by how you were able to pull this off even when you were not so sure about it.” “I know right? The main thing is not to give up, even when it seems extremely tough. I have both of you to thank as well. If it weren’t for you and Vera, it would have been really difficult to pull this off in days.” James smiled to acknowledge Charles’ words, and they got into the car. But as Charles leaned against the back seat, his phone rang. He removed his phone from his pocket, and discovered it was Mr. Grayson. “Good day, Mr. Grayson.” He greeted, with a smile on his face. “Good day, Mr. Charles. I actually called you to inform you on a sudden unexpected change.” Mr. Grayson uttered, in a depressed tone. “What’s that? I hope everything is fine?” Charles asked, out of curiosity. “Mr. Charles, I’m afraid we have to put a stop to our partnership deal.”
