I Became a God After the Apocalypse Game
"The last one's on you, Merrick." Aiden jumped off Merrick without a second thought. "Got it." Merrick planted his feet hard and shot toward Northcrest like a whirlwind. Aiden had already taken down two Lord-level bosses, which eased the pressure a lot. I'm a divine, for crying out loud, and with Leafport's warriors backing me up, if we still can't take down the last Lord-level boss, I might as well just grab a loaf of bread and run headfirst into it. "He's fast…" Aiden muttered, watching Merrick's back disappear into the distance. He'd felt it firsthand—riding Merrick at full speed was wild. The guy could smash through Level 70 or 80 beasts like they were nothing. If I actually had a mount like that, the travel speed… wow. Too bad, that's just wishful thinking. Aiden pulled his gaze back, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He felt genuinely pleased. Killing two Lord-level 100 bosses in a row naturally nets an insane amount of experience. I have no idea how many times I can level up from this.Too bad the Tier Advancement Trial is still in the way. Still, I'm more than satisfied. In under five hours, I've shot from Level 31 to Level 40. That kind of leap is hard for anyone else to imagine. These eerie creatures are invading? Perfect timing for a power boost. And the loot isn't just experience. The bosses I farmed earlier dropped a Legendary piece of equipment, over ten Epic items, and around a hundred Gold pieces. Skill scrolls and all the random junk? Even more of those. My 200-slot inventory definitely can't hold it all. Of course, I don't grab everything. I purposely leave twenty slots open. As for what I'm saving them for… Aiden's eyes burned as he stared at the spot where the Lord-level 100 eerie boss had vanished. A few pieces of equipment were glinting there, catching the light. This time, there's no way a dragon's going to stop me from grabbing the inventory, right? Last time at Dragon Mountain Range, I missed out on Redmaw's drops, and just thinking about it still makes my heart bleed. If I miss this one too, I'm going to switch to full dark mode. Anyone who tries to stop me, I'll deal with them! Even if a dragon shows up, it won't matter, I swear. But judging by the situation, nothing's going to go wrong. After taking down the first Lord-level boss, Merrick had rushed me over here, but the inventory was still proper where it dropped. These eerie creatures only care about killing. And as for other NPCs? They're not stupid enough to try to snatch the loot. Even without a top-ranked powerhouse like Merrick on the scene, just the fact that Aiden personally took down a Lord-level boss was enough to earn their respect. The first Lord-level boss had died in a way no one really noticed, but this second one? Everyone had witnessed it with their own eyes. It wasn't the mighty Merrick who struck the kill. It was this mysterious man with an unreadable face, wielding some unusual item from his inventory, who would finish it off. "Sir, could you tell us your name?" a knight, bloodied from dispatching the surrounding eerie creatures, asked with genuine respect after the fight. "Nighthale," Aiden answered without hesitation, giving his ID straight up. "Mr. Nighthale…" The knight let out a long breath and then straightened up, giving a formal Knight's salute. "Your mercy will not be forgotten. I am Knight Aude Husson, and your deed will stay with me forever."Aiden just smiled and didn't say a word. He turned and headed toward where the boss had fallen. Aude didn't linger either. He quickly rejoined his team to support the others. "So, did you get his name?" Someone was immediately curious. They had to know who this mysterious man was, the one who casually took down a Lord-level boss. "Yes, his name is Nighthale," Aude said gravely. "He saved our lives." "Yes, Mr. Nighthale saved us," another teammate added, taking a deep breath and speaking with solemnity. As knights, their role was to take the hits from the boss. And in those precarious moments, one careless strike could have ended their lives. But at the critical moment, this powerhouse appeared out of nowhere and wiped out the Lord-level boss. Their gratitude was immense. "Remember! The one who saved our lives is Mr. Nighthale!" "Mr. Nighthale…" Word spread like wildfire. The name 'Nighthale' flew like wildfire among Leafport's NPCs. It traveled all the way from the Eastguard battlefield to Northcrest. Basically, anyone from Leafport who had taken part in the battle, including officers like Aimar, remembered that name. … Of course, Aiden had no idea about any of this. His attention was entirely absorbed by the new inventory he had just acquired. 'Aegis of the Divine (Shield), tier: legendary, effect: unidentified.' 'Starcaller's Staff (Staff), tier: legendary, effect: unidentified.'
