I Became a God After the Apocalypse Game
"Wait, what? Nighthale just left the city to take down a boss?" Greenwhisper and the others, who had been pacing the streets and shifting positions nonstop, were totally dumbstruck. BigBadGale grabbed his head and groaned. "Too strong! Nighthale is just insane! Does he even take followers? Greenwhisper, seriously, why don't you just lead us to Nighthale? The gap in this game is insane!" "I'd love to…" Greenwhisper said with a wry smile. "But only if he actually notices us." "Yeah… fair point." BigBadGale fell quiet for a moment, then his gaze drifted slowly to Vanessa. "Why are you staring at me like that?" Vanessa asked warily. "I'm not Nighthale." BigBadGale chuckled, a little sly. "Hey, you're gorgeous. Why don't you go talk to him? Who knows, maybe he'll be smitten and say yes." "Do you really think everyone's as shallow as you?" Vanessa scoffed, curling her lips. "Besides, I'm not the type to sell myself for fame or fortune.""Fair enough, fair enough. Just saying." BigBadGale smacked his lips. "Respect, Vanessa. You've got spine. I didn't… uh…" Before he could even finish, Vanessa's cheeks turned pink and she shyly said, "Well… if it's Nighthale, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, heh heh…" BigBadGale just stared in silence. "Vanessa, I seriously misjudged you!" he shouted. "Nighthale saves your life and you're already plotting revenge? That's not cool!" "Go to hell!" Vanessa kicked him. "Isn't that how every story goes? The hero saves the girl, and she ends up with him. Makes perfect sense, right?" "Yeah, in your dreams." BigBadGale rolled his eyes. "I guarantee after today, I don't even want to imagine how many people will be trying to latch onto Nighthale. If he wanted, there'd be girls lining up for days." "True." Vanessa nodded in agreement. Just surviving when eerie creatures invade is enough to make anyone go crazy over him. Not to mention Nighthale's insanely great skills. I consider myself pretty, get approached all the time on the streets, but I'm not so self-absorbed to think the world revolves around me. Plenty of pretty people exist, but there's only one Nighthale. "But I've decided. From now on, I'm officially Nighthale's number one fan!" Vanessa clenched her fists, eyes sparkling. "If I make it out alive today, I'm starting a fan club right away, heh heh…" "Cool it, drooling like some obsessed fangirl." BigBadGale sneered, then quickly added, "But count me in." "Me too." "Add me as well." The others jumped in, turning into little fanboys on the spot. "What about you, Greenwhisper?" BigBadGale looked at him. "Nope, not me." Greenwhisper shook his head with a smile. He did admire Nighthale, no question. But first, he wasn't into all that fanatical stuff. Second, after being a leader for so many years, it suddenly felt embarrassingly out of place to become someone's fan and join a fan club. "Alright then, suit yourself." BigBadGale looked disappointed. "Can't believe your standards are this high. Not even killing a Lord-level boss impresses you. Truly a lone wolf type." Greenwhisper joked. "Of course, taking down a Lord-level boss is nothing to me. Just because I couldn't beat him doesn't mean I won't respect it." Ding. 'War Zone Announcement: Player 'Nighthale' has successfully slain Lord-level 100 eerie boss. War Zone Points +1. Official Notice.' The announcement rang out again. Everyone went silent. After a moment, BigBadGale glanced at Greenwhisper. "So… now what?" Greenwhisper stayed quiet for a beat, then said, "Count me in too." … Thanks to the Cooldown Stone, Aiden could now chain two Slaughters of Carnage in a row. With Merrick acting as a human shield, the second Lord-level boss went down without any surprises. "Yeah, this guy's got some seriously shady gear," Merrick muttered under his breath. Even if I go all out, trying to take down a low-health Lord-level boss isn't easy. Everyone knows the lower a boss' HP gets, the harder it is to handle. All kinds of hidden buffs and effects don't usually trigger, but once the health drops, it's a whole different story. So whether we can even beat it is one thing, and whether we can actually kill it is another. This guy, though, just takes it down in no time, skipping the hardest part entirely.
