SCARLET’S POV “How did they come here, how were they able to gain access without alerting us?” I fumed pacing the room. “Dark magic” Landon replied. Yes, that must have been it. Dark magic. That is the only reasonable explanation for their undetected intrusion. But let them, wait, they have seen nothing of me yet. “You have to be calm, my queen” the Chamlee moved over to me and held my shoulder. “They have no right to come here, absolutely no right” I spat. “My lady, take it easy. You still have to hear them out” lord Nathan appealed. “Hear them out, did you just say that I have to hear them out? I am not obliged to. I can cut off their heads this very minute if I so wish to” I yelled. Cutting off their heads would be the best approach to this. Cut them off and return them to their people. “They have no right to come here, to my land” I added. “Rich,” Chamlee called. “Yes, Chamlee” Rich replied. “How many are they?” Chamlee asked. “A handful of men. They are led by alpha Fred and beta Tim” Rich revealed. “Alpha Fred” I yelled. “By the time I am through with him, he will no longer be alpha” I declared. “You still have to calm down, my lady” Chamlee requested. “And for that Tim” I spat angrily. “I will cut off his head, feed it to the vultures and hand his body over to the vampires. I will ensure that he is never given a decent burial. I will make sure that none would be left to mourn him” “My... queen...” Rich called quietly. “Get off it, Rich, keep quiet” I yelled. Of course, I know what he wanted to say. He wanted to remind me of Dawn. She will have no choice but to mourn if she hears of her father’s death. But I will never let that happen. I will never give Tim the privilege of having Dawn mourn for him. “Even Dawn will not be allowed to mourn Tim. I will make sure that Dawn never finds out about his death. He will never have the honour of having Dawn mourn for him” I revealed. “So what do we do with them now, arrest them?” Chamlee asked. I thought about what he had suggested. Arresting them would be the better choice. I can keep them locked up and then attend to them after my Lalic recovers. “Yes. Landon, go this minute and have them arrested” I ordered, but Landon did not move. “What are you...” I was going to ask why he is adamant even after getting my order, but Chamlee stopped me. “Come off it, love. You must first find out what they are doing here before taking any action” Chamlee said. “And who says I must listen to them, they are the enemies?” I asked. “I say so. That is how it is been done and you also know it. they are now under you and there is no changing that fact. They are like your subjects now since you conquered them” Chamlee explained. “And that is the only reason why the alpha and beta of the Pack would come here themselves. They already know their fate and are not ready to fight it” lord Nathan added. I chuckled. I hope they are not about to play some games with me? May the heavens help them if they try to. “They are three, lord Nathan, they are three Packs that I defeated, where are the remaining two?” I asked. “The presence of alpha Fred is as good as the other alphas. You know that more than anyone else” lord Nathan replied. “They better not try to play any games,” I said. “I don’t see the possibility of them trying to” Rich replied. I thought about what they had said. Diamond Cut is an astute Pack, but they would not be stupid enough to attempt to play with my intelligence. “Rich, go and discard them. I have no time for them now” I ordered. “Please go first and hear them out” Chamlee pleaded. I heaved. I don’t know what I might do if I should appear before those two. I fear that I might not be able to control myself.“I feel like strangling those bastards” I cussed. “No, you will do no such thing. You are a great queen and should not act under impulse” Chamlee replied. “My son is lying down there because of them. I want to take my revenge on them right away” I said. “Lalic will be fine. By tomorrow he will be perfectly alright. And even me, I am fine too. I am not saying that you should forgive or look with pity upon them. All I am saying is that since they are here, you go and listen to them first. They are now our subjects and we can make them slaves if we so desire” Chamlee replied. “Yes, Chamlar. I know exactly how you feel. Listening to them will not change the cause of anything. But if you don’t listen to them, then how would you know what brought them here? Let us hear them out first” Rich appealed. There are right. Listening to those fools would not change my decision. Who knows, maybe they are here to surrender their Pack and hand it over to me. But it is already too late, now they are under me and I can deal with them in my own way. They have no choice now. “Okay, I will meet with them. Even though I believe that it will make no difference. They already lost the right to make any sort of bargain with me and so their coming here is as good as useless” I decided. The hatred that I feel in me cannot be quantified. I desire to see them mourn and gnash their teeth. I will change the cause of the three brother Packs, the time has come for that. “That being decided, my Chamlar, I will go get the elders ready. Everything will be set soon” Landon said. “Not yet, Landon, take them and lock them up. They are enemies and should be treated as such. I will meet with them tonight after dinner” I ordered. “I will do just as you have instructed, my Chamlar” Landon bowed. “Pixolands will not be hospitable to them. They came without our approval, and so they must be given the same treatment accorded to trespassers” I added. “Not to worry, my queen, we will show them no mercy” Landon replied. “I will see to it that your orders are carried out to the fullest, my queen, we beg to take our leave” Rich promised. “That will be great, Rich, the both of you can leave now” I replied with a sheer smile.Rich and Landon left the room. “I don’t think they would want to mess with us. They have learnt their lessons” Chamlee spoke. “They are proud and arrogant species. What else would explain their coming here uninvited?” lord Nathan said. “They must have envisaged that there is no way that they would be welcomed here and hence had gone for dark magic. What they want must be very important to them” I replied. “Of course, what they want must be important to them. But they must also know that we owe them no favour” Chamlee concurred. “They better be careful if they want to leave here with their lives,” lord Nathan said. “That is it, as long as they are careful, I will let them go with their lives,” I said. “They are not stupid, they cannot risk appearing before you to spur out something stupid” Chamlee replied. “If they are stupid enough to go to war without a justifiable reason, then I will never be stunned by their show of stupidity” lord Nathan said. “In any case, I will still be glad to do away with their heads” I revealed. Of course, that would be the best for them. It will even be a good thing for the members of their Pack. It is high time they are spared from the reign of idiots.
