BETA TIM’S POV Why were we been treated so miserably, we didn’t come for war, so why are the Pixies treating us so? Even the alpha was not spared from their harsh treatment. He was treated like a nobody. A whole alpha of the fearless Diamond Cut Pack. Or maybe I should say the once fearless Diamond Cut Pack. I got us into this mess, but not to worry, I will get us out of it. I have my plans. Mildrid is with us now and we would come up with something to lift us from the captivity of the Pixies. She is a great witch, and no one should dare to underestimate her. “Hey... young gentleman, can I get some water” alpha Fred requested from one of the guards that had manhandled us but he was adamant. It was just as if no one had spoken. “Hey you there, are you deaf? The alpha says he needs some water. What are you still standing there for? Rush off immediately and get him some clean water” I commanded. They are just servants but we are at their mercy. They had beaten us up before throwing us into this dungeon. I heard that the Pixies are hospitable but that is not the case with what I had experienced. Maybe it was a bad idea coming over here after all. Maybe we should have remained in Diamond Cut and waited for their arrival. Being in our Pack would have given us some leverage over them. The guards remained quiet and did not move from the spot he is standing. “You, get the water right now” I yelled at the guard. I got up and made for the door. however, I only moved a few steps before I found myself on the ground. “Hooo...” I cussed. I have forgotten that there was a chain on our legs, binding all of us and that is what had sent me landing on the floor. For we to move, it has to be in unison, all at once. “If you should make another sound, I will cut off your legs from the chain and then you will not be hindered from coming to me” the guard warned sternly. He did not even bother to look at me. I became quiet. I know that is not a joke. I don’t think they were given any limit as to how they could treat us, the queen left us completely at their mercy. I dragged myself back to the rest. I did not bother to stand up. I crawled on my stomach as I did not want to upset any of the ruthless guards.“I will make that witch pay dearly for this, she assured us nothing will happen to us” alpha Fred gnashed his teeth. “Nothing will happen to us, alpha” I guaranteed. “See we are thrown into this dark dungeon and it is all thanks to your witch, we don’t even know for how long they intend to keep us here but your witch guaranteed that no harm will come to us” alpha Fred gritted his teeth. “But no harm has come to us. This is just a way of the queen expressing her annoyance. I guess she will send for us soon” I replied. “I am under chains, Tim. This better ends well or you will have your life to pay for it” I threatened. His threat does not scare me right now. We have to get out of here alive first before he can make good of his threat. But right now, there is no saying if any of us will leave here alive. If there is any to remain alive, then it will definitely not be the alpha, he is the number enemy of the queen and so there is no way she will let him go. But for me, I am only but a humble servant. I have done nothing wrong, all I did was carry out the orders of the alpha. I must make the queen realize this. Of course, with that, she must let me go. An old man like me will not be useful to her. “Alpha, Mildrid assured us that we will get here safely and we did. I don’t think any harm can come to us. She already say no one will harm any of us” I replied quietly. He is still the alpha, and I should be careful in annoying him. The fact that he is under chains with me and his other servants does not mean that I should look down on him. But that Mildrid, she is so unreliable. She has personally assured us that the queen would welcome us with open hands once we arrived. But look at us now, about to die from thirst and starvation. Maybe she misled us as a way to discard us. She knew that all her promises are fake and she is aware that the alpha will not hesitate for an extra second before executing her if he should find out about her deceptions. She brought us here to actually get rid of us. May the moon goddess help her if I should meet her again. I will make sure to strangle her with my bare hand before telling her how much she has been exposed. “I don’t want to hear you mention that witch again, it is only now that I have come to realize just how fraudulent she is” he spat. “And alpha” I called. “What again, Tim?” he grumbled.“What if we go back to Diamond Cut, then you must believe Mildrid right?’ I asked. “We are in this dungeon. Tim, and I bet that the queen has already forgotten about us long ago” he replied. “I know we will leave here. I know it because Mildrid assured us of it” I said. Mildrid? I don’t believe her one bit. But what can I do, I am only siding with her in order to save my head. There is no way the alpha would keep me if he should get rid of Mildrid. He may not say it, but deep inside, he is already blaming me for the advert of Mildrid. I blame myself too for the advert of Mildrid. “See, Tim, if we should leave here alive, then I will show my unfettered appreciation to Mildrid” he replied but sounded unconvinced. “She assured us that we would get here undetected and we did. So I am very sure that we would return alive just as she has said” I said. “I think you should be more concerned for yourself than you are for Mildrid, Tim” he advised. “A.. al... pha” I could only mutter. It was a piece of friendly advice, at least that is what it appears like on the surface. But being with alpha Fred all these years, I know it is a promise, a promise of just what he will do to me should anything go wrong.
