LANDON’S POV I was taken aback. Did I just hear her right? “What... happened?” I asked. This is happening too soon. The blood he had just received was supposed to be allowed to settle for a while before he regains consciousness. I hope that there has been no complication. But that can't be, we have done everything according to how it should be done and so the result for the Chamlee should be just perfect. “He... he opened his eyes, just now. And see... he is calm” Mia responded. “Okay, that is a good one” I rushed over to the Chamlee. After taking a look at him, I saw that everything was normal. I felt his pulse, they were okay. His breathing is already steady and he was mumbling out some words, trying to say something. “Now you get warm water and massage his whole body. Make the massage hard. All his bones need to be strengthened” I ordered. His skin is still very pale, but I know that by the time the warm water is massaged all over his body, he will have some colours and should fully regain consciousness. I moved over to Lalic’s bed. He is the only one in a precarious state. He has given almost all his blood to the Chamlee, and if the same is not replenished immediately, at least to a considerable extent, then there is no saying what that might lead to. “Lara, stop the syringe flowing from the luna immediately. She needs some time to regain herself. Let’s see how Lalic is doing, if he still needs some replenishment, we would do that by morning” I instructed. It is already past midnight and Lalic should be able to wait until dawn to take more blood if he needs it. “Alright, Landon” Lara replied and proceeded into action. “Kendra, go and prepare some soup for the Chamlee. He should be very hungry by the time he fully wakes up” I instructed. “Okay, I will go do that now” Kendra replied and walked away. Lalic’s temperature is neutralizing. It is no longer hot and cold at the same time. This is a good sign. “Do you think he will still require more blood, the luna is already very weak?” Lara asked. “I will know by morning. But that would greatly depend on the state of the luna” I replied.“So what if he needs more but the luna is unable to disperse with any?” Lara asked. “At the moment, there is no risk to his health. The thing is, I can't tell the condition of the fetus. I will be taking a huge risk if I should allow more blood to be drawn from her” I explained. “So what becomes of Lalic. Or will it have to be a choice between allowing either Lalic or the unborn child to survive?” she asked. I heaved. “If the blood already administered to Lalic turns out to be inadequate, with what I can see now, it will not be fatal. The thing is he might have to take some extra days to recover. A week at most” Lalic is not in a terrible situation as the Chamlee. He does not have any poison inside of him hence, local herbs should do the magic. From my calculations, that should be effective. At the moment, from my point of view, there are no complications. LARA’S POV It looks like it is all good and there was nothing to panic about, at least for the Chamlee. The luna and Lalic do not appear to be in any terrible situation. Even though the luna already appears to be very weak as a result of the transfusion, it is obvious that she would be fine within a couple of hours. She will be fine before the day runs out. I can speak for the luna, but I can't say the same for Lalic. Even though he appears to be calm now, there is no saying how his body would react to losing so much blood. What if he needed more blood to make out for what has been lost? Who else can give blood to him because I am sure that it will not be possible for the luna to do that again? She is pregnant, and the unborn child requires enough blood too. “So what becomes of Lalic. Or will it have to be a choice between allowing either Lalic or the unborn child to survive?” I asked Landon in my anxiety. Will someone have to die at the end of this, will it amount to picking either the life of Lalic or that of the unborn child? Will we return to square one? He heaved before responding. “If the blood already administered to Lalic turns out to be inadequate, with what I can see now, it will not be fatal. The thing is he might have to take some extra days to recover. A week at most” “Oh, that sounds more promising. I know the luna would feel bad, but it is not a bad deal after all” I exclaimed in joy. At least no one will have to die, that is all I want to hear. In a couple of days, even Lalic will recover and the luna will be fulfilled. Now I am glad that it will end this way. All our pains are washing away.“Another thing is that we can prepare some local herbs for him to take. With that, in a day or two, he should be back on his feet” Landon added. Yes, I should have thought of that. Lalic is not suffering from any poison, they are a lot of herbs that could be given to him to aid his recovery and in no time, his blood will fully be replenished. The luna only had to come in because of the seriousness of the situation. If we had done this earlier, the Chamlee would not have required much blood and the luna would not have been required to help replenish Lalic during the process. “What is happening here?” Chamlee asked. He is already awake and was trying to sit up. Kendra entered with a bowl of soup and rushed over to him. “My Chamlee, you are awake” she exclaimed. “Yes, he is. Help him to sit up, and feed him the soup” Landon ordered. “But what happened, why are my queen and my son lying beside me, and why are they not opening their eyes?” Chamlee asked. “My Chamlee, it is already late, and they are sleeping. You don’t want to disturb them, please drink some soup, you are well now” Landon appealed. “Yes, my Chamlee,” I concurred. I moved over to him and I assisted Kendra in getting him to sit up. “The Chamlar and your son have been waiting for you to get up. They got tired of waiting, and they fell asleep” “Really...” he murmured and took a look around. Everywhere seems very strange to him. “Yes, my Chamlee. Now you have to eat, the Chamlar would want to see you walking around by the time she wakes up” I replied cheerfully. He nodded his head and agreed to eat. That is a positive development for now. Maybe later on, we will take our time and explain everything to him.
