Caught Between Two Alphas

Chapter 178 The Risk In Using Lalic

LANDON’S POV “...He is still alive because of his kind of blood. His blood can create a room within it and cohabit with external sources, dangerous external sources. Such external sources can only live inside but there is an extent to which their power can go, they can never take the life of their host until a very long time. I also discovered that this is the same with your son, Lalic during the plague in Wild Cloak Pack. My Chamlar, you could heal Lalic, and by right should also be able to heal the Chamlee. However, he also shares your blood, so even when your blood mixes with it, it has no effect because the external sources are already used to it. And most importantly, you have the werewolf blood which cannot directly mix with the Chamlee's” It took me a great time to make all of these discoveries. It started as a suspicion. I have seen the condition that the Chamlee is suffering from and I know all about it. If it were a werewolf, it would have died on the same day. But even as a human, the Chamlee should not have lived for up to seventy-two hours. His being alive and resisting all known treatment fueled my desire to look critically into his case with my little knowledge of medicine. At that point, the only case that could come to mind after days of research was that of Lalic. And without looking any further I had approached the Chamlar in the hopes that she would be receptive and bring expects to research my discovery. I guess I didn’t think it through at that time because thinking of it later on, I realized that it was not the best move. I should have only walked up to the Chamlar and talked about her son when I was quite certain of my presumptions. Even at that, it still would not have been easy to convince her. “So how do we maneuver through this?” the luna asked as we head towards Lalic’s room. We have left the throne room. Right now, I, Rich, and the luna are going to find Lalic. The healing process must begin in earnest as there is not much time to waste. “I had to do some intensive research, my luna. As time was going, the efficacy of my remedy was diminishing. There would have been a risk of zero complications if we had done this at the very beginning” I replied. “So what risks are there at the moment?” she inquired. “A little” I replied. “How little?” she asked. She wants to know how little the risk is going to be. Anyway, she should relax, I am going to tell her soon. I am yet to come up with the best possible explanation to give. Soon we arrived at the room and Rich proceeded to open the door and we all walked inside.“Mother, general Landon, and general Rich. You are all here” Lalic exclaimed. “You are not sleeping yet, Lalic?” the luna asked him. “No, mother, I was waiting for general Landon. I am glad that you came too” Lalic replied. “For...” the luna murmured and shut me a questioning look. “I am sorry, my queen. I was going to go on with it tonight without your consent” I revealed. Yes, that is the truth. I have been preparing Lalic for this ever since. It is his own volition. I know he is still a kid, but I know his life would not be endangered, not when we act now. “No... Landon” the luna mumbled and grabbed Landon into her embrace. “Have you seen the Chamlee lately, my luna? There is zero risk involved if we do this. At least if we have done it earlier on, there would have been no risk to Lalic” I said. “And I ask, what risk is there to Lalic at the moment?” she questioned. I inhaled. It is going to be a hard one, but I have to be generous with the truth to prepare her mind. “The risk would be the same as what you experienced after fortifying the Chamlee with your blood” I finally revealed. “That is crazy, Landon, Lalic would not be able to handle such. I went to hell and back on that very day. Even up till the next day, I could barely hold myself. I am strong, Landon, but Lalic is just a little boy” she exclaimed. “That is the worst that can happen to Lalic, but I can't say the same for the Chamlee if we delay this any longer. The longer the Chamlee remains, the more dangerous it will be for Lalic and the fewer chances of recovery” I explained nervously. “I don’t get you, Landon, just what point are you trying to make?” she asked. I inhaled. “Okay, let me explain this in more clear terms. I will be as explicit as I could.” “Okay...” she urged me to go on. “Lalic is the only blood that is as strong as that of the Chamlee. From my research, his blood will act as a strong neutralizer against the poison in the Chamlee. Your blood is strong too, but you are a werewolf and already share the same blood with the Chamlee. on the other hand, Lalic has no wolf yet and so the Chamlee should be able to harbor his blood. As I said earlier, it would have been much easier if we had done this long ago but right now, it is a little bit complicated. Truly I can't say how complicated it is at the moment, but in order to abate any form of danger in the lives of any party, I will suggest that we do a trio cleansing” I stopped. A trio cleansing was the best I could come up with and I hope it works. From my research, if we are careful enough, the worst that can happen is a failure of the process. There will be no harm to any party. If only the Chamlar had listened to me from the very start, the process would have been a hundred percent success guarantee. Right now, I can only hope for the best. “You don’t have to worry, mother, I have gone through the entire process with general Landon and I am sure it will be a complete success. I want father to be okay, and I am happy to do something as great as this to see my wish come to pass” Lalic appealed. I looked at her, she nodded and so I continued. “The trio cleansing will go this way...”
