Golden Moon: The Beta Twins' Contracted Mate

Chapter 85 Not Yet

Meadow’s p.o.v. After Felicity and I both get checked by a doctor, not that it was necessary. We head back to the Pack-house of Light Ridge to meet up with Alpha Damon and Alpha Lincoln. “We are going to the ballroom. Elder Chelsea sent a few Elders to hold a trial, even though we all know what the outcome will be.” Makay says as he places his arm around my shoulder. Myka walks on my other side, his arm around my waist and I hear Rebel purring softly in the back of my mind. I can’t blame her; it feels good having both of them with me. Fallon, who is Felicity’s Brother, is pacing the front porch and runs toward us the second he sees us coming. He barely slows down enough to grab his Sister and pulls her against his chest as he buries his nose in her hair, doing everything he can to calm himself and his Wolf down. “I was so worried. Don’t ever put me through this again, you scared the shit out of me.” He whispers into her hair. “I am fine, thanks to these three.” Felicity says as she gestures toward us. “I’m not sure how they found me, but I will be forever grateful that they did.” We follow Fallon and Felicity into the Pack-house and I can hear angry voices coming from the ballroom. “BACK THE FUCK OFF.” We hear Kenyon roar and for him to push Alpha Lincoln back to take control means someone has tried his luck. “He needs to die. A trial is a waste of time.” Someone responds and other Pack-members give sounds of approval. “Wouldn’t you like to know how he got into the territory without detection? Don’t you want to know how he knew how to get into the old dungeon? Are you willing to put other Pack-members at risk by not getting to the bottom of this?” I ask as I get into the guy’s face. Rebel is right there with me and I know my amber eyes are glowing brighter than usual. “I suggest that you step back or you might get hurt, little girl.” The Idiot says and I hear my Mates mutter “Ouch” from somewhere behind me. My hand wraps around his throat before he can respond and I slowly close my hand, making sure that he realizes what I am about to do. “Maybe next time, you will think before you speak.” I say as I look into his eyes, squeezing his throat more and more. I drop him on the floor once I have squeezed enough to make him lose consciousness. “Any more volunteers?” I ask as I look around the room, but it seems that most of them like breathing. Elder Josiah stands next to Alpha Damon with an amused look on his face. He knows what I am capable of and has seen plenty of men lose a fight against me. Rory is on his knees in front of Alpha Lincoln, facing the Pack-members of Light Ridge Pack. He still looks roughed up from the treatment Thyrius and Blade gave him, but I don’t feel sorry for him, not in the slightest. “How did you get into the territory?” Alpha Lincoln asks, using his Alpha aura to force him to answer the question. “I crossed the northern border, near a cluster of huge rocks. Patrol is minimal there, most patrols cut corners up there.” Rory answers. His answer infuriates Alpha Damon and for a damn good reason. If your patrols cut corners, you are at a higher risk of Rogues entering your territory and no Alpha in his right mind wants that to happen. “Who told you about that passage into the territory?” Alpha Lincoln asks. “Doesn’t matter, she has been dead for a while now.” Rory answers, but it looks as if Felicity knows who told Rory. “Why did she tell you?” Felicity asks and when Rory doesn’t answer her immediately, Alpha Lincoln forces him to answer the question. “So we could meet each other.” Rory finally answers Felicity’s question. You don’t have to be a genius to understand why they were meeting up, but Rory has been with Sarah for more than three years and now we find out that he cheated on her. “Did she tell you about the old dungeons? Did she tell you how to access it?” Alpha Lincoln asks. “Yes, she did. It was the best way not to get caught by anyone.” His answers are quick and short. It doesn’t seem to anyone that he is lying, but his thoughts are what assure me that he is telling the truth. There is nothing more that we need to know and Elder Josiah is quick with his judgment. It is not what anyone within Light Ridge territory was expecting; he gets incarcerated for life in Renegade territory. Alpha Damon wanted to put Rory to death for kidnapping Felicity and he shows his disappointment with the sentence. It takes a few Squad members to keep him away from Rory and they quickly take him out of the Pack-house. “Alpha Lincoln, can you keep Rory in a cell until another Squad comes to pick him up?” Elder Josiah asks. Alpha Lincoln looks at Makay as he nods his head and a moment later, Makay pulls me out of the door to escort the Squad members to our dungeons. How the fuck did they find us? How the fuck am I supposed to know? I am glad that I know now that I am listening to a conversation between Rory and his Wolf. If I hadn’t figured it out, I would have thought that I was losing my mind. I concentrate on Captain Miles to find out if I can hear anyone’s thoughts or if I am unable to control this gift in any way. Why didn’t Elder Josiah sentence him to death? The Idiot deserves to die for what he tried to do. Okay, that answers my question. I can control my gift, now I have to find out to what extent. I might start with my Mates in the privacy of our room, it will be interesting to find out if it works on them or not.“Because he failed, he gets to live. If he had moved quicker with his plan, he would have gotten a death sentence, Captain.” I answer him. The look on Captain Miles’ face is priceless, but I am not going to tell him my gift. At least not yet.
