Golden Moon: The Beta Twins' Contracted Mate
Meadow’s p.o.v. I still can’t believe that Rory went over there and kidnapped Felicity. What the hell was he thinking? “He wasn’t thinking. You need a brain for that.” Rebel says in my head and I almost trip over a tree root. “Rebel thinks she is funny.” I say as I continue running and tell them what happened in that head of mine. Which everyone, of course, finds hilarious. We keep searching our border up and down to find where Rory might have reentered the territory, but as I suspected, we don’t see a trace of him. We move closer to Alpha Damon’s territory every time we have made a run along our border, but no indication that anyone has been here. “How the hell did he pull this one off?” Captain Miles asks through our mind-link. “I doubt he left their territory. He must have known that Alpha Damon was warned when he started fighting the Luna. Meaning he never got a huge head start to begin with.” I respond. I mean, he was carrying an unconscious woman over his shoulder and the Alpha was informed during the fight. Alpha Damon saw him on the footage with Felicity and headed to Gold Moon territory. Rory must have known he wouldn’t get far. “Where do you think he might be?” Captain Miles asks me. I understand why he isn’t discussing this out loud, because if he gets caught in Alpha Damon’s territory, they can kill him without any witnesses or questions asked. I know of at least one person who wants answers and that is my Alpha. Okay, you are right. I want answers, too. We spread out a little further to cover more ground and give ourselves a chance to see how he might have gotten into the territory or how he plans to get out again. “Keep looking, the longer it takes, the higher the chances are of him forcefully marking Felicity.” Captain Miles says out loud. He is right, though. If that fucking Idiot actually used his brain, he would have marked her the first chance he got. “Rebel, keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. No matter how small, we need to find him first.” I tell her, but I make sure my Mates hear me too. Our Shifters can see more than we can and I hope they will be able to point us in the right direction. It takes us about an hour to get to the border of Alpha Damon’s territory. It is a slow progress, if you want to make sure that you don’t miss a damn thing. “Can you let Alpha Damon know that we found nothing?” Captain Miles asks one of the Warriors who accompanied us in our search. At the moment, we have only two options: we can search along the entire border of Light Ridge Pack or inside their border. I prefer to search inside their borders, but that won’t be up to me. Unless Captain Miles can get the Elders on our side, they will ask Alpha Damon to grant us access. “How do you think Rory got into the territory?” Myka asks through our mind-link. I can kick myself in the ass if it were humanly possible, we never thought about that little riddle. “Let’s ask Alpha Damon about that when he gets here.” I tell him. “Excuse me, can I ask something?” I ask one of the Warriors inside the borders of Light Ridge Pack. “Did you increase border patrol after Felicity went missing?” I ask after he has nodded his head. “No, Alpha Damon told us to keep our eyes open and to watch every possible way out of the territory.” He answers, which leaves me with the feeling that Rory might have had help entering the territory. Captain Miles has deployed our Squad members along the border to look for anything that might indicate where Rory might have crossed into Light Ridge territory. None of them has seen anything strange, but that might be an indication that we are looking in the wrong place. “Meadow, can you update us?” Alpha Lincoln asks and I tell him and Alpha Damon what we have been doing. Neither of them looks happy to hear that we haven’t found a trace of Rory and Felicity. “Alpha Damon, would you mind if we check the territory? We can’t seem to find Rory’s entry point and I suspect it will also be where he left the territory.” I ask Alpha Damon. “Anything to find my Daughter. Go right ahead, I appreciate everything your Squad is doing.” He says before he turns to Alpha Lincoln and invites him to join him at the Pack-house.Captain Miles teams a Warrior with each team to search the border from the inside, I take my team to join Alpha Lincoln at the Pack-house. I want to see for myself where Rory could have taken Felicity from there or if my hunch is correct and he never left the territory. Myka and Makay follow me as I walk to the back of the Pack-house, all of us curious to find some kind of clue. “Hi, can you show me the Omega stairwell?” I ask an Omega near the back door. She walks into the Pack-house to show us where the Omegas can access the stairs that go all the way up to the Alpha floor, but is out of sight from visitors and Pack-members. We walk from the back door down the hall to near the Alpha office, then we take a left into a small hallway that seems to lead to the kitchen and the Omega stairwell. “Are we sure that Rory left the Pack-house. It looks like he had a lot of opportunities to hide out here.” Makay mentions. He is right, though. Between the back door and the hallway we are in, I have seen at least three doors. Rory might be waiting for everything to settle down a little before he tries to escape the territory. I know that I would. “Keep an eye on any place he could be hiding. We will check them once we know for sure that he left the Omega stairwell on the ground floor.” I respond. I don’t know if Alpha Damon looked at all the footage, because if he didn’t, we might not have all the information.
