Meadow’s p.o.v. “Meadow, wake up.” I hear Captain Miles say through the mind-link, waking me up before it is time to get up. He wouldn’t do this if it weren’t important, so I jump out of bed and grab my robe while I exit my room. Running down the stairs, I tie the robe at the left side of my waist and I am met with an angry looking Elder Josiah. “Rogues just attacked Black Valley Pack, you will be leaving in half an hour.” Elder Josiah states as he hands me the little information he has. I link the girls on my way back to my room and quickly shower while I link another Squad member with the request to prepare us breakfast and coffee to go. Two SUVs are waiting for us when we walk out of the Squad house, Calista gets behind the wheel of the first SUV and Maryan takes the second SUV. Lyndy and Raya get into the vehicle with Maryan, while Tia and I get into the SUV with Calista and in seconds we are pulling away from the curb. Tia hands out the coffee and breakfast I asked for and for a few minutes it is silent in the SUV, the three of us just enjoying our breakfast, trying to wake up before we reach Black Valley territory. “What are you hoping we will find inside the territory?” Tia asks, while she puts away all the paper and plastic from our breakfast and I take another sip of my coffee before answering her. “Probably nothing. Alpha Lincoln has all paper files in the archive in the Pack-house and medical records can be accessed by computer with a personal code.” I answer Tia’s question. “How do you know that?” She asks. “Uncle Major explained it to Maryan when she called him at Gold Moon, just assuming that he would run both Packs the same.” I answer. It is the only conclusion that I could come to, because running two Packs differently makes no sense to me. “Two injuries at the border, nothing severe.” I say as I read the first page of the report. “What? This doesn’t make sense.” I skim through the rest of the report, but it doesn’t make sense to me. “Meadow, we have arrived.” Calista states as the SUV slows down and I lift my head to see four Warriors at the gate. One of the Warriors in Human form walks to the SUV and comes to a halt when he looks at Calista ID. “Renegade team.” He calls over his shoulder and the other Warrior opens the gate for us. Calista follows the road that will lead us to the Pack-house, Maryan following us closely and I look around me to take in the territory. It looks different from Gold Moon Pack, the cottages and houses are built closer together and a lot closer to the Pack-house than in Gold Moon territory. If someone would get into trouble here, help wouldn’t be far off and abuse of any kind would be nearly impossible. Comparing it to Renegade territory would be unfair, our territory was built to accommodate Warriors and not families. “Related to Makay?” I hear Tia ask and I let my eyes glide toward the front porch of the Pack-house. She is right, he looks just like Makay. We park the SUVs in the parking spaces on the right side of the road, I open the door to get out of the SUV and I stretch my arms over my head as I walk towards the Pack-house. I can feel eyes roaming over my body and Rebel is chuckling in the back of my head, nothing I haven’t been through before. “Underaged, Misha.” I call out as I look at the female standing next to him and a smile appears on her face at my words. “You must be Meadow, the girl that made hell for my other Son. I am Beta female Lilith and I understand we owe you to find a part of the problem.” She says as she walks down the steps.“Beta Lilith, it is a pleasure to meet you. I understand from Uncle Major that you still haven’t found an answer for Makay’s behavior, I fear that you may never find it.” I tell her as I shake her hand, before I introduce my team to her. “Hello, Meadow. It is good to see you again.” I hear the voice of Beta Lennox come from behind me. “Did you return because of the attack?” I ask as I turn around and shake his hand with a smile on my face. His eyes shift to Tia and I see them slowly widen as he realizes that she is a Mountain Lion. “Tia is a Mountain Lion, Lyndy is a Lynx, Maryan is a Wolf and the rest of us are Lycans .” I state as I point at my team members. “I am assuming that the Gamma family are also Mountain Lions.” I had gotten a small glimpse of the guy’s eyes, but it had been enough to see his Shifter and with him standing up there with the rest of the future leadership of Black Valley Pack made the deduction easy.All of the people on the front porch gasp, but Beta Lennox and his Mate are laughing, “You are right, but I thought that you needed to look into someone’s eyes to see it?” Beta Lennox asks. “I have been practicing and now a tiny glimpse is enough for me to see. There are enough other Shifters in Renegade territory, so enough guinea pigs to practice with.” I answer him and I hear Tia huffing behind me, her Mountain Lion hates it when I compare her to a guinea pig. “I did return because of the attack, Lilith returned a week ago. She hopes that our archive can help us find an answer, Makay still refuses to answer questions. Your Uncle explaining what might happen with Myka didn’t do their relationship any good, not that I can blame Myka.” Beta Lennox finally answers my question from earlier. “You must be Madden, the future Alpha.” I say as I walk towards the Pack-house. “Can we talk in your office?” Madden leads the way to the Alpha office and I see Pack-members giving us strange looks, not used to seeing a Renegade team in their Pack-house.
