Myka’s p.o.v. There was no update on Makay, Elder Chelsea refused to discuss it and made it clear that Alpha Lincoln would only get answers from Meadow. River and I have spent a lot of time with Meadow’s friends and when they told him that Stella wasn’t Rufus’ fated Mate, but that Meadow was, all hell broke loose. We managed to stop him from going after Rufus, because it would mean that everyone would know about Meadow and about Rebel showing up early. It was enough to make River calm down, but he is taking it out on Rufus during training and the poor guy doesn’t understand the problem. Rhys has been rather secretive for the past week and I am glad that I had Meadow’s file placed in the safe of the Alpha office, because this morning I walked into the Archive to find some papers missing.Unfortunately for Rhys, I had made a copy of the Beta family file and all he did was destroy the copy and not the original file. “Rhys, I am only going to ask this once and you better have a damn good explanation.” Alpha Lincoln says. “Why did you destroy your family file?” River is sitting next to his Father and his white knuckles show me that he is pissed off, but he doesn’t say a word. “Before you say that you didn’t destroy it, I want you to know that there is a camera pointed at the archive and we know that you went in there last night.” Dad says and I see a small smile appear on River’s face. “What I do with my family file is none of your business.” Rhys says as he looks at Alpha Lincoln. “My family is my business and no concern of yours.” I know that Alpha Lincoln is counting to ten in his head, it is something he does when a Pack-member or a visitor talks back. He is the Alpha and his Pack-members are his business, especially if he just took over as the new Alpha. “Rhys, your family file is my business. I am your Alpha and I need all the information that is in a family file, even if you think that there might be something that I don’t need to know.” Alpha Lincoln says calmly. “What information did you destroy, Rhys?” Dad asks and we all wait for Rhys to answer the question. “River, leave the room. This is between me and Alpha Lincoln.” Rhys says, but River isn’t moving an inch. “River, I am not telling you again. Get the fuck out.” Rhys growls and again River doesn’t move, but Dad does. “ANSWER THE QUESTION.” He roars, scaring the shit out of Rhys. Alpha Lincoln is rising to his feet, he will order him to answer the question if Rhys doesn’t comply and it seems that Rhys is aware of that. “I took out the information on my Mate, she died a long time ago and there is no use for it staying in my family file.” Rhys answers, but we already know that it wasn’t the only thing he removed from the file. “Anything else you took from that file?” Alpha Lincoln asks and this is the first time since he sat down that River looks at his Father. “What else could there be in that file, Dad? Is there something that I need to know?” River asks and Thyrius likes the way he put his Father on the spot. “Are you going to answer your Son or should I?” Alpha Lincoln asks. We are hoping that we will finally get to understand why he shunned Meadow or why he kept it hidden from River that he had a baby Sister. “My Fated Mate was a Lycan, a Low-ranked Lycan. The only thing she needed to give me was an heir, a Lycan male and she failed at that. When River was four his blood test showed that he was a Wolf and my Mate couldn’t have any more Pups, so she was useless to me. She stuck me with a Wolf male and a She-wolf, I rejected her after the results came in on River and she left that night. Leaving behind the one thing I told her to take with her and about two months later she died, it was the night that little She-wolf screamed at the top of her lungs.” Rhys admits. For a few moments it is deadly quiet in the office, but River is looking at Alpha Lincoln and after he gets permission River gets out of his seat. “You are no longer my Father, I will never carry your last name and when I find my baby Sister I will love and protect her the way you should have done. Alpha Lincoln, I don’t care what you do with him, but make sure that he stays away from me or I might kill him.” River says before he walks out of the office. I follow River out of the office and we head to the clearing that Meadow used as a training ground. Her friends are there waiting for us and it takes River a while to tell them what happened in the Alpha office. “I know that I hurt Meadow with my behavior, but I didn’t know the truth and I will spend the rest of my life to make it up to her. Wherever she goes I go, she will never be without her family again.” River vows. Tyson is deep in thought and it takes Hayden to smack the back of his head to pull him out of it, “Where the hell did you go?” Hayden asks. “I could be mistaken, but I doubt that your Mother was a Low-ranking Lycan, River. Meadow has always been a damn good fighter, but after getting Rebel she became even better. I have read your training files and the same goes for you. Makes me wonder if she might have lied to your Father.” Tyson says. “Or Rhys never asked her.” River mumbles and now I really want to find out more about their Mother.
