Golden Moon: The Beta Twins' Contracted Mate

Chapter 181 His Threat

Marley’s p.o.v. This is going to be damn interesting. Meadow is an excellent teacher and with the knowledge I have, I know this is going to be even better. “Renya, I would like to take a look around the territory. Care to show me around?” I hear Meadow ask as she walks into the kitchen. “Don’t worry. We will keep an eye on them and take plenty of rest along the way.” I say when I see that Magnus and Gideon want to object. “Besides, some fresh air will do them some good.” I don’t wait for a response as I help Renya off her stool and guide her out of the kitchen, while Meadow follows me with Milcah next to her. I hear Myka tell Gideon and Magnus to relax, that we won’t run off with their Mates. We have been walking for about ten minutes when I hear Milcah say, “They didn’t follow us.” “They better not or I am going to kick some ass, pregnant or not.” Renya mumbles as she takes a left turn on the path, leading us between two cottages toward the forest. I can hear voices ahead of us and Renya smiles as we walk through the forest until we reach a clearing. We look around the clearing to see a dozen women training with a man who looks familiar to me. “When did your Brother get here?” Meadow asks and I realize that this is Renya’s twin Brother.“He moved here with me. We have never been away from one another for very long and Gideon wanted me to feel at home. Neither one of them told me, until Bodin showed up two days later.” Renya answers. We watch as the Omegas train with Bodin’s help and it is clear that they have been training for some time. They are good enough to defend themselves and if they team up, they can take down an enemy without any help from the Warriors. “Nice job, Bodin. It is going to be more difficult for a Pack to attack when Omegas don’t need protection from Warriors.” Meadow says as he wraps up the training session. “Don’t tell Gideon yet. We want them fully trained before showing their skills to the rest of the Pack.” Renya responds. “Bodin, you will have an extra instructor for the next week. Meadow challenged Caldwell.” Bodin looks from Renya to Meadow, but it isn’t with confusion but with amusement. “What did he do to piss you off? How did you get him to accept your challenge?” Bodin asks and Meadow recounts the events from earlier. Damn, he is lucky to be still breathing. “I won’t be the only instructor you have. My former Renegade team will also be joining us and they will help me in any way they can. I am curious, though. Who does Renya believe to be best suited for this challenge?” Meadow asks. Bodin turns toward his Sister and he raises an eyebrow as he looks at her. He knows who Renya was talking about and she didn’t tell him.“She is talking about Amila, an Omega who has an axe to grind with Caldwell. He rejected her for being an Omega and she is determined to show him that he made a huge mistake.” Bodin says. “And Gideon isn’t aware of what he did, is he?” Milcah asks, but no one needs to answer her question. It is part of their Pack law and breaking it means banishment. Silent Crest Pack has always been strict in its laws concerning fated Mates. You accept your fated Mate or you ask the Alpha for a trial. A trial is held in front of the entire Pack and the Alpha will order everyone to tell the truth. It can backfire if you have something to hide yourself and there haven’t been many Shifters who asked for a trial to reject their fated Mate. “You wanted to see me, Luna Renya.” A woman says as she approaches us and I think I already know who she is. “Amila, would you like to kick Caldwell’s ass?” Meadow asks before Renya can respond. “Caldwell made a stupid remark and I am going to prove him wrong. According to Renya, you are the perfect person to help me.” Meadow explains what happened in Gideon’s office and the more she says, the bigger the smile on Amila’s face. “Damn, straight. I am your girl and I will enjoy making him eat his words.” Amila says with a wicked grin. We create a schedule for Amila’s training and when Renya sees the names of everyone who will help with the training, she shakes her head. “Caldwell is doomed. I have seen most of them train and they are brutal at times. If all of them are like that, then Calwell can kiss his ass goodbye.” Renya says. “Meadow, you might want to come to the Pack-house. Maryan and Hayden just arrived and they need to speak with you.” I hear Magnus say through the mind-link After giving Bodin a few instructions for Amila’s training, we head back to the Pack-house to find out what Maryan and her team discovered. I bet it isn’t good, and Silent Crest might not have seen the last of their enemies. “It’s because of other kinds of Shifters.” Maryan blurts out the second the door closes behind us. We all look at her because we already figured that was the main reason. “What my Mate is trying to tell you is that they don’t want Silent Crest around, because some of their ancestors and their children are mated to Bears, Lynxes and other Shifters. Each attack takes place after they discover another pair of, according to them, mismatched couples.” Hayden clarifies. Meadow and I start laughing, because this isn’t only ridiculous, it might also be against their Pack laws. Uncle Joseph is going to enjoy visiting those Packs and either put them on probation or take their titles away from them. “Maryan, send all the evidence you found to Elder Chelsea. She will plan a meeting with the King and take care of this.” Meadow finally says.Uncle Joseph made it clear that he will hold every Pack accountable if they break their own Pack laws and having Renya living in Silent Crest territory is a great incentive to follow through on his threat. You also don’t have to be a genius to know that every guest that night has been telling other Shifters. So, in my opinion, no one can claim ignorance.
