Magnus’ p.o.v. Dad turns his phone in my direction during the meeting and I have trouble keeping a straight face. “Elder Joshia, is this a healthy Pack in every way possible?” Dad asks. “I would like to know the conditions of Frozen Star Pack before you turn it over to a new Alpha. I doubt you want him to hit rock bottom before the year is over.” Elder Josiah opens another file, which he pulled from his bag. He flips through it to finally look at Dad with a confident look on his face. “The finances could be better, but this Pack is healthy enough when it comes to that.” Elder Josiah answers. He hands the file to Dad, who looks through it for a moment and then hands it to me. It is that I know the truth, but otherwise, I would say that this Pack is barely getting by. I wonder why Ferdinand is hiding money from his Pack and what he plans to do with it. A ding from Dad’s phone tells me that he has received another message and like last time, he tilts his phone in my direction so I can see another message from Mom. This message has Gilliam rolling around in my head, chanting that Ferdinand is a Moron. “Elder Chelsea, your guests have arrived.” Joshua says as he walks into the living room, followed by two men. “This is Beta Joel and his Son, Jeremiah. I believe that Alpha Ferdinand knows who they are.”We all hear the chuckle in his voice and Ferdinand responds with a growl. He isn’t too happy to see his Brother again, but neither is Beta Joel. I wonder how much Beta Joel knows about what happened here or if he ever had his suspicions. “What the hell did you do, Ferdinand?” Beta Joel asks. “Why does my Son have to take over this Pack?” Two very valid questions to ask and I wonder if Ferdinand will answer them himself or if one of us has to answer those questions on his behalf. From what I have seen from Ferdinand so far, I fear that we will have to explain the situation to Beta Joel and Jeremiah. Beta Joel finally turns to Dad for some answers, because Ferdinand is only glaring at Elder Joshiah. “You probably know why former Beta Dresden came looking for you and Ferdinand. What you don’t know is that your Brother is presenting Katreena as his Luna to the outside world, while he kept his fated Mate and his Daughter prisoner on the Alpha floor.” Dad states. Beta Joel growls at Dad’s explanation and Jeremiah is ready to kill, but Dad releases a bit of his Alpha aura to calm them down. “We arrived here yesterday and while we were in a meeting with Ferdinand and his leadership, a Renegade team helped Zaphara and Milcah escape. They are safely in my territory.” Dad says, before he explains the rest of the events from yesterday and this morning. “Your family still has the right to become the Alpha of Frozen Star Pack. Your firstborn, Jeremiah, will get the title and the powers that go with it and your secondborn can take over your Beta position one day.” Elder Chelsea states. Jeremiah looks at his Father with a smile. He seems to like the idea of taking over as the Alpha and he can’t do worse than Ferdinand did. “I wasn’t trained to be an Alpha, but have been following Dad around long enough to have picked up a lot of things from my Alpha. I am confident that I can handle this.” Jeremiah says. “You can always call on me if you need help, Jeremiah.” Dad says. “I have plenty of people I can send out here or take over from me for a while.” I hand Beta Joel the file with the Pack finances in it and he looks worried as he reads through it, seeing the same mismanagement that I noticed. Jeremiah looks over his shoulder and he glances at Ferdinand from time to time. “How did you manage to screw up this badly? Dad always said that you were the smart one, that anything involving money came as second nature to you.” Beta Joel states. Ferdinand stays quiet during all of it and I know that he will never tell his Brother that he was careless on purpose. “Beta Joel, as you can imagine, Ferdinand demanded the return of his fated Mate and his Daughter. He didn’t explain to us why he made that demand and I believe we both would like to hear the answer.” Dad says. “Because Zaphara is my fated Mate and Milcah is this Pack’s rightful heir.” Ferdinand blurts out, but we all know that without the proper Ceremony, Milcah will never be the rightful heir. “You are saying that your Father was wrong about money being second nature. You are saying that you don’t want Zaphara back because you need her signature to access millions of this Pack’s funds.” Dad replies. Everyone stares at Dad for a moment while he opens the message from Mom with the evidence. There is no denying it any longer for Ferdinand and he slumps down into his seat, defeated. “Jeremiah will have enough funds to turn this Pack around. Zaphara doesn’t want the money, because it belongs to the members of Frozen Star Pack. She is more than happy to sign it all over to you, Jeremiah.” Dad says. We can hear Pack-members mumbling outside the Pack-house. They need to process everything they have listened to and I doubt they will allow Ferdinand to remain within the territory. Half an hour later, Elder Josiah leaves with Ferdinand and the entire Beta family. We all decided it was best to find another Pack for them to live in, if we can find one that is. “Jeremiah, for the time being, Beta Lennox will stay here with you and help you in any way that he can. After the Full Moon, I will return to help you rebuild this Pack.” Dad says. Lennox will be a good mentor for Jeremiah and hopefully, we will all return here soon for his Alpha Ceremony. However, he needs to find himself a good Beta and Gamma to run this Pack with before he can start thinking about the Alpha Ceremony.I want to stay behind to help Jeremiah in any way I can, but Dad won't allow it. “Your Mother will kill me if I don’t bring you back for the Full Moon party. She has gone out of her way to plan it and you better show up with your best behavior.” Dad mumbles.
