The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Malik When I woke up this morning, I knew the day had come for Calliope to finally pay for her crimes, and with the evidence I have against her for planning to forcefully mark Umayza, no one ever has to fear her again. She will be put to death, just like Wenonah and Kendrick. I can even keep my own secret hidden, I don’t have to reveal it to anyone and my other half sighs in relief. “Maybe you should explain it to Orion and his Sister, I doubt they will hold it against us.” He says to me and I know he is right, but I know there was something else Orion wanted to tell me. I think he didn’t say anything because he didn’t want Calliope to know, if he is willing to tell me, I will tell him the truth about me and my Brother. I know he can keep a secret; he has proven that by not revealing what he witnessed the first time we met.It is also the reason why I informed him about Calliope’s plan and I hoped it would result in her capture, that Kendrick and Wenonah were also captured is a huge bonus. Everyone knows the rumors about Wenonah’s Mates, but I know the Council can’t prove anything and that meant she got away with it. Today their luck changed when I was able to convince Calliope to leave Wenonah with her. I couldn’t risk her reliving a memory that involved me or Orion and I was able to leave a piece of clothing behind with my scent to warn Orion. I am glad he managed to understand my warning, and I had chuckled when I saw a female take down Wenonah. It wasn’t difficult for me to subdue the two Warriors and I saw a smirk on the male’s face, I now know is Callan. He had really enjoyed seeing me handling them as Pups. Evander and Conri walk back to the cottage they came from, and Orion asks me to follow him, he guides me into the living room where I am faced with a female lying unconscious on the couch. Evander and Conri sit down on the couch, Conri placing her head on his lap and Evander puts her feet on his lap. Conri quickly explains their situation to me and I am surprised these guys had been that stupid. I doubt I would have been able to keep my other half away from our Mate for that long and I definitely know I wouldn’t have been able to stay away from our Mate for that long. “How long have you been helping the Council, Malik?” Conri asks, he doesn’t ask if but how long and I ask him to get the others in here to hear my story. Council-member Boaz tells me it is my right to tell them and that I know where to reach him if I ever need his help again. Conri tells me they will be here as soon as they have guided the Royal Warriors and Council-member off the park and asks me if I would mind waiting until Umayza has regained consciousness again, “I think she would like to get to know her baby Brother’s friend.” Yonatan is walking in and out of the cottage and Evander explains that all their food supplies are in another cottage. Orion and I get up at the same time to help him and with the two of us helping Yonatan, it is the last trip we have to make between the two cottages. Blaze tells me about how they became Umayza’s protection detail and that most don’t know they accompany her on her assignments. Axel tells me about her training and how she brought a Lycan to his knees and everyone starts laughing, except for Theron. “Let me guess, she knocked you on your ass?” I ask him and he tells me what she had done that day. “Thanks for the warning. I will try to stay on her good side.” I reply. I keep an eye on Umayza as we talk about this assignment that brought them to White Horn Pack. “Over five years ago this Pack got massacred by Rogues according to former Alpha Talon, when Princess Taliyah found out about it she realized why her Brother Ayden had made a turn for the worse back then, and the Council wanted to know if former Alphas Talon and Roger had something to do with it. Umayza is the only one that could get that answer for them and that is why she was assigned to this task.” Evander says and I ask him if she is unconscious because she tried too hard to relive the memories. “No, she had no trouble reliving the memory. I believe the memory left her drained from her energy. I doubt it was an easy memory to relive and I am glad if we never have to go through this ever again. I know she has to go through it, but this is nerve-wracking for me and my Lycan.” Evander says. “Hold on, you’re saying she can relive a memory that is over five years old?” I nearly shout and when Armand tells me she relived a memory that was ten years old, “Thank the Goddess Calliope never found out about that or she would have taken action a long time ago.” I growl.
