The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Josy "You must be Josy; I am Yara, and I am Argos' Mate." Yara introduces herself, and I hug her as I ask Argos if this means he will finally stop bugging me. "Never. You are my baby Sister, and I will always look out for you." He answers as he places his arm around his Mate, and I just smile because I know he will always look out for me. I help Sela and Alice with directing our new members to their rooms, and then it is finally time for us to go home. Malik jumps on Mano's back to place his hands over Mano's eyes, and Ivan grabs his hand to guide him towards the cottage; I hold onto his other hand to help Ivan guide Mano in the right direction. Ivan tells Mano to stop walking the moment we reach the path that leads to the front porch; Malik tells him to keep his eyes closed, and Mano does as he is asked. I keep holding on to his hands as the boys walk up the steps, and after they have turned around, both of them tell Mano to open his eyes. He looks at the cottage with a huge smile on his face. "This looks amazing. I like the colors you chose; it suits the cottage perfectly." Mano says before he places a kiss on the top of my head, and I am glad that he likes the outside of the cottage. I can't wait to show him the inside, and I want to see the look on their faces when they see what I did to the room across the hall from the master bedroom. Ivan and Malik are pulling Mano with them, showing him the entire ground floor before they pull him towards the stairs, and every now and then he looks over his shoulder at me. I smile as they show Mano their rooms and I see him looking at the pictures in there; I think I chose the right ones as I look at his face. Ivan tells Mano that all the other rooms are empty, and Malik looks at the note I taped to the last door to our left: to be opened last it says. I open the door to our room, and a huge smile appears on his face when Mano sees the bed in the middle of the room; I think that I know what he is thinking about. "Can we take a look at that room now?" Mano asks as he points at the door across the hall, and I just nod my head as I follow him out of our room. Ivan and Malik are already waiting at the door, and Mano reaches past Ivan to open the door; there is nothing in that room but a mural on the wall to the left. After Chai told me that I am pregnant, I thought of a way to tell Mano; I used my pendant to get the message across, and by the look on his face, I succeeded. "Are you serious, Little Angel?" Mano asks, and I grab his hand to place it on my belly. I know that it is still early, but I am hoping that Torben can confirm it to Mano. After Torben confirmed to Mano that I am pregnant, we look at Ivan and Malik, both of them staring at the mural of a sleeping Cub inside a blue crescent moon. Ivan is the first one to turn towards me, and his eyes glide to my stomach; when I nod my head, he starts cheering. Malik hugs me as he puts his ear against it, but it is too early for him to hear anything. We spend the rest of the morning in and around our cottage; I show Mano every picture I placed around the cottage, and he smiles when he recognizes a few from the tablet I gave him. I wanted to show all three of them that this is our home, and throughout the cottage, there are little other things that represent the four of us. I smile as I see that none of them has seen my other little artwork; they have been too distracted by everything else to notice it, and I can't wait to come back after dinner. Lunch is a little chaotic with all our new members; most of them seem a little intimidated by the way we act around one another. Jazzy explained that Alpha Roland only treated the Beta family and the Gamma family normally; every other member of the Pack was considered less. The Pack-house was off limits, they had to fend for their own food, and they barely got any payment for what they did for the Pack.Malik and Ivan walk over to a young She-wolf; she seems to be about Malik's age, and she hides behind her Mother when the boys ask her if she wants a tour of the Pack-house. "Ma'am, I am sorry if we startled your Daughter." Malik says, and I see the girl peek around her Mother. "We would like to show her around to make sure she doesn't get lost; if she feels more at ease, I can ask Aunt Josy to come with us." I smile as I hear Malik offer to take me along, but it seems it is all the reassurance the girl needs, and she softly asks her Mother if she can go with Malik and Ivan. Her Mother looks at Jazzy, and when she nods her head, the girl gets permission to go take the tour with Ivan and Malik. Mano and I walk over to the girl's Mother, and she smiles at Mano before she turns towards me. "I am guessing that you are Aunt Josy." She says, and after she introduces herself as Nyla, we all sit down again. I tell her that I run the diner and the motel at the fork in the road, and she asks if I could use some help. "I would like to make myself useful; I don't mind cooking or cleaning, and if there are other things you would like me to do, I am willing to learn." She says, and I know I will need more help in the future, especially when our young is born. I tell her that there is always enough to do at the diner or the motel and that I would appreciate any help she can give me. We agree on going to the diner in the morning, giving her time to settle in and for me to have some time with Mano. I find out that Mano shifted for our new members and that Mara hasn't stopped talking about it. "Would you like to see Torben?" Mano asks, and I know he felt my disappointment through our bond.
