The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary

Chapter 108 Family

Josy "Can I come too?" Lynn asks, and I tell her to inform everyone that if they want to see Mano shift into Torben, to gather out front of the Pack-house. She runs off with Josh right behind her, and soon I hear a lot of mumbles around the dining room. I smile as I see the Pups jumping up and down; they really want to meet Torben, and so do I. Ten minutes later, Mano and I walk out of the Pack-house to see almost every Pack-member outside; Mano doesn't waste time as he undresses, and before I can blink my eyes, I am looking at a Grizzly standing in front of me. Through our mind-link, he tells me to get onto his back, and I giggle as he gets up from the ground. "Hold on to my neck, Little Angel." Torben says, and once I have a good grip, he gets up on his hind legs, making me squeal as the others gasp at his size. "Uncle Torben, Mara wants to hear you roar." Malik shouts, and Torben doesn't think twice about it, roaring as loud as he can. Torben allows the youngsters to touch him and climb on and over him as he lies on the ground. Tychon has shifted into Makucha and joined him, as Mylana tells our Pack-members a few things Mano and Tychon had explained to her. Some other Pack-members have shifted into their Wolf or Lycan form, and the youngsters are having a lot of fun. Romano We have spent the entire afternoon outside the Pack-house with all our Pack-members; I enjoyed my time with the youngsters, and I can't wait for our young to be born. Torben and I don't care if it is a male or a female, and we don't care if it is a Cub or a Pup; we will love our young no matter what. During dinner, we can feel that our Little Angel is tired, but she refuses to show it to anyone. I asked Mylana about the gestation period of a Werewolf, and she told me that it is about half of a Human pregnancy, close to five months. Tychon told Mylana that for Feline shifters it is around four months, and I think I scared the shit out of them when I told them that it usually lasts about three months for Bear shifters. Josy is eight days along, and if it is a Cub, there are probably two of them. She will start to show real soon, but with it will come fatigue from carrying two Cubs. The fact that I can tell she is tired is an indication that she will be having Cubs, and it might be more than two, if Mom told me the truth about a Bear shifter's pregnancy. "Okay, I would like to go home and enjoy some time with my Mate and my Nephews. I think I have seen enough of Colton for the next few days." I say as I wink in his direction, and he smiles back at me. "Well, I have seen and heard enough of you as well. Josy, take that annoying male with you." He says, smiling. We wish everyone a goodnight before we walk out of the Pack-house, and I am surprised Ivan and Malik didn't tell anyone that Josy is pregnant. I decide to wait until we are home before I ask them about it, and I pull her closer to me as we walk towards our home; Josy really turned it into a home. I tell her to go to the backyard and that I will get us all something to drink. I know she really enjoys a caramel latte macchiato, and for the boys I make hot chocolate; I decide to get a cappuccino myself. Once I have handed everyone their drink, I sit down next to my Little Angel and just enjoy the silence for a few moments. "Malik and Ivan." I say to get their attention. "Why didn't you tell anyone that Josy is pregnant?" I ask, and I almost drop my drink when Malik says, "It is not our place to tell. Grandma once told us that things like that should be told by the person it concerns themselves." "Well, we might have to start telling everyone soon." I say before I look at Josy. "I think you might be pregnant with Cubs, and yes, I mean plural. You are already tired, and if Mom informed me correctly, we will have three or four Cubs. Mom explained that the earlier in a pregnancy a female gets tired, the more Cubs are involved. Mylana told me that a Werewolf pregnancy lasts about five months, but for a Bear shifter, it only takes three months." I explain, and I can feel that she is panicking. "Don't worry. The nursery will be done in time, but we need to talk to Alice, as this will be new for all of us, and I don't know anyone I can ask for help." I say. "What about Aunt Myra?" Josy asks, and I quickly pull out my phone; I just hope she has reception wherever she is. After two rings, she picks up. "Mano, I am so glad you are okay. I came home, but everyone was gone and I..." I don't let her finish as I ask her where she is, and I smile when she tells me she is at the diner. "Aunt Myra, I will be right there." I say. An hour later, Aunt Myra is sitting between Ivan and Malik; I had linked Alpha Lakota before I headed over to the diner, and after she and Mylana had talked to Aunt Myra, she was asked to join our Pack. On our way to the cottage, I explained to her what had happened, and she was relieved to find out that Ivan and Malik survived as well. The moment I introduced her to Josy, she knew that she was pregnant, and she promised Josy she would tell Alice everything she needed to know about a Bear shifter's pregnancy. "Aunt Myra, I know a little about your family from what Mom told me, and I would like to know if your entire family felt the way your Mother did." I say. Aunt Myra stares at her coffee before she answers me. "Only my baby Brother didn't agree with her; he actually took the time to get to know your Uncle." She whispers. "I don't think there is any family left that still remembers me; my baby Brother died years ago as he protected a young Wolf." I see tears streaming down her cheeks. "It wasn't just a young Wolf he protected; he died protecting me." Darrius says. "He died protecting his Son, Aunt Myra." She throws herself in his arms as she tells him how much he looks like his Father, and I am glad she has found another piece of her family.
