Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 54 It's All Seraphina's Fault

"Make it a statement. She's definitely provoking us." Brody affirmed, "Shane, should we stop her and give her a lesson? We'll show her who we are." Shane's dark, fathomless eyes followed the slender figure. As Brody continued his words, Shane turned slowly and stared at him. Brody's confidence faltered. "Shane, what's wrong?" Without a word, Shane kicked him squarely. "Are we gangsters?" "We are…" The last words died in Brody's throat as Shane's glare darkened. We are gangsters! Brody thought bitterly. … "I can't wait for next week's test," Kelly said with excitement. However, Linara couldn't shake a sense of unease. Something felt off about the entire situation, but she couldn't pinpoint it. "Do you guys think that Zack saw the wrong report card?" she asked, speaking up. "Impossible. Even if Zack is blind, there's no way he'd mistake a 580 for a 280." "Linara, don't worry. She's just stubborn despite being a loser, like Xyla Stone." "Hey look. Who's that?" Carmen looked towards the back of the school building. The group followed her gaze. They spotted Yvonne cornered against a wall by Molly and her gang. "Isn't that Seraphina's best friend?" "You can ask her anything about Seraphina." The four exchanged a knowing look and began walking toward the scene. In the shadowed corner, Molly had a tight grip on Yvonne's hair as she stared at her menacingly. "Do you think running away would get you out of what happened at the restaurant?" "I'm sorry. It's my fault," Yvonne stammered in fear. "Now, do you think saying sorry will fix everything?" "I-I'll pay you back." Yvonne's scalp was stinging from the pain. Yet, she did not dare to make a sound. Molly patted her face. "That's more like it. You have one month to pay your price. If not, don't think about staying at Bloomington School. We'll make sure you're gone for good." Tears welled up in Yvonne's red-rimmed eyes, but she nodded furiously. "What are you guys doing?" Kelly and the other three strolled up. Her gaze swept over Molly's group with veiled disdain. As Kelly's group approached, they immediately put up a pleasing smile."Miss Thomson, we are just educating the new student about the rules of Bloomington School," Molly said sweetly. "Right, Yvonne?" Her sharp gaze turned to Yvonne as a silent threat gleamed in her eyes. Yvonne nodded timidly like a mistreated maid. Kelly chuckled softly. She did nothing to expose their obvious lie. Yvonne recognized them all, especially the stunning girl at the center. That's Seraphina's so-called sister. As she witnessed Molly and her group bowed down in front of Kelly, her heart was filled with bitter resentment. That resentment wasn't directed at Molly or even Linara. It was aimed squarely at Seraphina. If Seraphina was willing to pay her debts and stand by her side, Molly and her group wouldn't have dared to treat her like this. It's all Seraphina's fault. I ended up this way because of her.
