Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 53 She Provoked Shane

"Hmph!" Kelly scoffed. "I'm just worried that you're scared." Seraphina let her gaze sweep across the gathered faces. "What about you guys? Are you scared?" The group exchanged amused glances. "Why would we be scared?" "Hmph. Don't cry when you lose." "We'll be watching your every move." They were utterly confident in their victory. "Good." Seraphina nodded in satisfaction. "Keep up that confidence." She gestured toward a waiter to bring over two sheets of paper and a pen. Without hesitation, she began writing the betting agreement and signed her name. "Look. Sign it if all is good."Though their expressions were brimmed with disdain, the group took their time to sign the agreement. Dora picked up the paper and read through it carefully. Once she was sure there were no loopholes, she placed her signature. Everyone signed their names, except for Linara. Seraphina's smiling eyes landed on her as she tossed the pen to her. "Sign it." "I-I…" Linara stammered. "Don't force Linara." "Linara is respecting you. Be grateful." Protecting me? Her sly, underhanded maneuvers had done anything but that. "I don't need it." Her words ignited a wave of anger around the table. Even Shane, who had been quietly observing with mild interest, frowned in disapproval."Linara, just sign it. Stop defending her." Under the collective pressure, she scrawled her name across the paper. As the last signature was added to the agreement, the students had captured the scene. Within minutes, the footage made its way onto the school’s forum. The forum's admin was an admirer of Linara. He had long despised Seraphina for bullying her. Not only did he approve the post, but he also pinned it to the top of the page and made it a featured news. With all eyes on her, Seraphina left the restaurant. As she walked through the campus, curious onlookers with phones in hand whispered and glanced at her. "So, she is Linara's sister." "Linara lost her place as the Whitewood's eldest daughter because of her." "Look at her. How can she dress like that as a Whitewood?""She only scored 280 points. How dare she make a bet? She's delusional." "I can't wait for the Whitewood's eldest daughter to scrub the toilets." "Same." "I was stressing out on next week's test. But now I can't wait." … Cedric grumbled, "Shane, your deskmate is doomed. How can she be so dumb? She walked right into their trap." Shane's cold gaze shifted toward him, sending a chill down his spine. "Why do you care about her?" "N-No, not at all. Why would I care about her? I’m happy to see her suffer." Shane kicked him aside. "F*ck off. Do I look like I need someone to crush her for me?" Cedric scrambled and nodded repeatedly. "I was wrong. You can crush her like a bug with no problem." Just then, Seraphina walked out from behind a tree and strode past them. Her silent appearance startled Cedric and the others. Seraphina's gaze flicked toward Shane. A faint, mocking smile tugged at her lips before she turned away. Although she never said a word, her expression spoke volumes. Cedric muttered, "Shane, is she provoking us?"
