When the Galaxy Wept

Chapter 76 You Can't Do This

Robert and Foxy were shocked by the word “Mrs.” Patrick said calmly. “She’s my woman, so what you are doing is loyalty rather than betrayal.” They left the mansion of the Commander in great pleasure. A successful friend could bring all kinds of benefits. The more important Emerald was, the more successful they would be in their military career. Emerald had been sent for another task and was unaware that Foxy and Robert had been summoned. Harvey and Harrison were in the opposite wing and were surprised to see the two leaving. “I always figured that there’s something between the boss and his wife,” said Harvey. “But it seems impossible since our boss values her so much. How could she still not be happy?” Harrison pretended to be calm and took a sip of water before he answered. “No way. Why do you think so?”“If Ms. Wilson was satisfied and willing to stay with the boss, why would she want to go out? Isn’t the boss enough for her to rely on? Shouldn’t women stay behind their men? “Harvey questioned. Harrison shook his head. “Emerald is not that kind of woman.” Harvey thought about his words and nodded, “I think that she has been trying to find a way out for herself. Besides, the Commander was always unhappy. Do you think that maybe there is a misunderstanding between them?” Harrison almost choked with the water in his throat. While Harvey was planning out the next few days for Patrick that night, he saw a business trip on next week’s agenda, and an idea occurred to him. The next morning, he showed the arrangements to Patrick. “To the base in the southern hemisphere?” Patrick glanced at Harvey, “Aren’t we going there next week?”Harvey said, “The scenery in the southern hemisphere is really beautiful, and the people there are very nice. You can have a vacation there.” Patrick was surprised at the suggestion and frowned. “Do you want me to dance with her plans?” Harvey was bewildered, and Patrick seemed to be cold. “Harvey, she’s my woman. She must absolutely obey my rules and listen to me. Remember, I can spoil her, but I won’t wrack my brain to dance with all her plans.” A week went by quickly. Emerald had finished a simple task with Foxy and Robert, and they had received the second task, which was taking a rich businessman and his family out for a space trip. The task was simple, but it would be fun, and the pay would be considerable. On the third day, they would take the family out to see the nebula and galaxy near the boulder belt in space. Emerald was familiar with this route and had parked many times in this belt. She liked the roughness of the stones, so she felt happy that day. Her day was fully planned, and she drove the Cheetah out very early in the morning. However, the moment she sat in the Cheetah, she saw Patrick and some officers walking to the parking apron to another Cheetah. She was a little surprised. She thought they had already left since he had gotten up so early, but he hadn’t. Instead, he was going on a business trip to the southern hemisphere over the next few days, which made her happy because she could stay outside for days. It seemed they hadn’t seen her. So she lowered her body immediately so they wouldn’t see her and planned to lift off right after they had flown away. **** Patrick stood beside the Cheetah and noticed out of the corner of his eyes a small woman crouching in the pilot seat in one of the Cheetahs. He fell into silence. He thought Emerald was pleased these days. She was even singing in the shower sometimes when he came back home. Obviously, her days had become more pleasant since she was back to doing tasks outside. But now, she seemed even happier after knowing that he was going away for a few days. Harvey and the others watched him in surprise as Patrick walked directly to that Cheetah and knocked on the window. Emerald, who was crouching in the pilot seat, opened the gate in embarrassment. Before she realized it, a blast of wind blew in. A strong hand suddenly grabbed her waist, and she was immediately lifted from the ground! He pressed her close against him, and her chin was close to his chest under his uniform. His sharp eyes were staring at her from a small distance. “Are you happy that I’m going on a business trip?” Emerald couldn’t tell his emotion from his words.“No, I’m not.” Carrying her, he turned around to walk to his Cheetah. “You can’t do this!” Emerald struggled, “I have taken a task, and Harvey said I didn’t need to go with you!” Harvey, who was in front of them, pretended that he didn’t hear anything and watched with no expression as Patrick threw Emerald in the back seat of the Cheetah. “I can’t?” He grabbed her waist with one hand and ordered the pilot in a low voice, “Launch the fighter!” Although Emerald could normally control herself, she was furious now. They had pretended to be peaceful with each other, but the anger inside her exploded when he forced her to stay with him, and she realized that she became more and more dependent on him. “Patrick Lewis!” She hit heavily on his chest with her fist. “Do you know you are really selfish?”He grabbed both of her hands and pressed them against the cabin wall with ease. The officers sitting in the back of the cabin all looked to the corner, trying to give them their space. Emerald ignored them and kicked on his knee. He dodged her foot, held her waist with one hand, and pushed her to the wall. Emerald groaned as her back suddenly hurt, and he loosened his hand. She grasped this chance and pounced at him like a wild cat to bite him on the neck. Patrick grabbed her neck, lifted her up, and put her inside his arms. This time, he held her so tight that she couldn’t move. Harvey, who was next to him, quickly took the gauze and put it on Patrick’s neck.
