When the Galaxy Wept
Zach laughed cheerlessly, “If I had known that you’re a Zerg, I would rather have died from the infection than let you save me or regard you as a kind and strong woman. You are so stone-hearted that even if the war eliminates the Zergs, you won’t stop. Right?” This time the Queen was silent for quite a long time before she finally responded with a severe tone. “Zach, you know I’m not like that.” This time she didn’t refer to herself as a Queen. “You see, now it’s summer on this planet, but it is even colder than it is during the winter at the Alliance. Do you know how many comrades we lost last winter? 45 thousand. Our environment keeps getting worse, but we were refused from intermingling with humans. “I don’t understand why during the last war between the humans and Zergs, my mother gave the planets with the most abundant resources to the humans. We are as kind and united as humans, and we are even more innocent than them. Why should we live on a planet with no resources? Why should we be deemed to be less than humans? “If the planet has to have a governor, I will try my best to create a joint renaissance of Zergs and humans. Under my command, humans and Zergs will have equal resources, power, and freedom.” The Queen’s words surprised Emerald a little, but she had to disagree since the war had been started by the Queen. Zach and Emerald were thinking alike. “War is war, no matter the reason behind. War is always ugly, only interested in competition and killing.” “I don’t expect your approval. I prepared for this war for ten years.” The Queen’s voice was indifferent now. “What do you want to do?” Zach asked with frustration.“Safeguards!” She was still speaking in human language, but her voice was filled with coldness and indifference. “Search!” Considering that she had only a small knife and two grenades in her hands, Emerald felt a rush to confront and capture the Queen right here and was willing to risk her life as a soldier for her people. But she refrained herself due to a sensitive situation she was in. The Queen had planned this colossal war and would not leave any chance to put herself in danger so easily. Zach knew the Queen much better than Emerald, and he hadn’t taken any actions, so she just waited to see what would happen next. More footsteps were heard from the outside, sounding as if a large group of Empire Zergs rushed into the living room. “Stop,” Zach said sharply. Without saying anything to Zack, The Queen gave her instruction. “Guards, please guide Zach aside and take the human from this room.”The voice at the door became louder and louder. Emerald knew that hiding any longer was useless and prepared for a face-to-face meeting with the Queen, grenades in her hand. At this moment, another voice was heard. “Your majesty, we captured 11 humans from behind this room.” “Good.” The Queen said with confidence. “Gather them with the two on the ground and kill them all.” Emerald opened the door and stood up straight. Zach’s broad shoulders hid her from plain sight. Noticing her voice behind him, he turned around immediately, “Em, you!” Emerald looked surprised at the Queen, who was sitting on the opposite side of the room on a sofa. The famous Queen of Zergs was in a female human appearance. She had a tall and finely shaped figure and was dressed in a blue military uniform. Her long red hair spread over her shoulders. Her face was beautiful despite her high cheekbones and forehead. She looked serious, mixing her beauty with inherent strength and power. Her eyes were wide and shining intensely. Emerald was surprised to see the Queen had so much decorum. The only weird thing was that Emerald couldn’t tell immediately how many pupils she had. The Queen of Zerg had such a human-like appearance. Where were her Zerg features? The Queen seemed to notice Emerald’s exploratory sight and turned cold. “You’re bold.” Besides the Queen were two Empire Zergs, and another four or five Zergs were standing by the door, pointing their guns at Emerald and Zach. Outpowered, Emerald knew she had no chance to revolt and said calmly. “The people outside are my men, don’t kill them.” “You organized the takeover of the 7th labor camp.” The Queen said affirmatively with an ice-cold voice.Zach rushed to answer before Emerald could defend herself. “She just came here to rescue these captives, not me.” Zach looked at the Queen, “You don’t have to get angry.” “If she came here for you,” The Queen said, “She would have died a thousand times already.” “Then we die together.” Emerald showed the Queen the two grenades in her hands. “That cannot hurt me.” The Queen glanced at Emerald emotionless. “Catch her!” Two Empire Zergs came to Emerald with heavy footsteps as Zach hid Emerald behind his arm. After soliciting the Queen’s opinion by looking at her and seeing her nod in agreement, one Empire Zerg came forward and pushed Zach aside as the other grabbed Emerald with its tentacles. Emerald fought back with her sharp knife, which poked into the Empire Zerg’s arm, but it dismissed it with a hum and wielded fiercely with its other tentacle as if hushing away a fly.Emerald prepared to resist but was beaten to the ground with the knife due to the Zergs disproportionate strength compared to her. Feeling a sharp pain in her shoulders when she was about to get up, the Empire Zerg’s back leg stepped on her back, immobilizing her completely. His other tentacle took away the knife with complete accuracy from her hand. “Em!” Zach could only hear Emerald groaning in pain and was surprised and afraid. He turned to the Queen angrily, his face getting pale. The Empire Zerg had a strong sense of smell. After smelling the blood, it stepped on Emerald’s broken leg without hesitating, Emerald screeched in agony. Zach trembled under the screech. Douglas and Foxy, who were still on the ground, woke up at this moment and were shocked at the view in front of them, but they were held on the ground and couldn’t move.
