When the Galaxy Wept

Chapter 103 I Want To Go With You

Emerald’s face was even paler, and he didn’t answer her, “Em, I used the Zerg to transport them here to save their lives. There is fuel under the floor of my room. You can wake them up and fly the planes outside to leave here.” He spoke very slowly, but his tone was frank. Emerald almost believed him. Otherwise, why did he send the Empire Zergs away outside the door? “What happened to you?” She suddenly felt sorry for Zach when she saw the smile on Zack’s vague face. He was silent for a while and said, “Em, come here and let me touch your face.” Emerald didn’t move. Zach smiled, “When I ran away last time, my eyes were injured by a bullet, I haven’t recovered since.” He explained slowly. “I want to go with you, even if I may die in space. Em, I’ll always remember my vow, and I’ll always be loyal to humans and to the Alliance. I didn’t live because I’m afraid of death, I live because I want to die in my own country.”Emerald was shocked by his words. She could almost imagine who that critical person was when she thought about the Empire flag by the gate. She couldn’t say anything and just walked to him and gently held his hand, “I’ll take you with me.” Zach smiled calmly, reached out his hand and threw away the walking stick, hugged her, and held her tightly in his arms. After a while, he reluctantly let her go. Emerald gave him the walking stick and helped him sit by the table. The white cloth still covered his eyes, but Emerald could see that warm, calm glow of his eyes through the fabric. Emerald almost cried. She walked to his room to look for the barrel of fuel while he sat still waiting for her to come back. Emerald growled. “She was fierce.” He didn’t respond, but he asked her with a faint smile after a short silence. “Are you afraid? If you take me, you may face the fiercest attack of the Zerg.” Emerald asked him back, “Are you afraid? You were way more skilled than I am. Maybe we’ll all die in the stone circle.” He laughed slowly but suddenly stopped as he was just about to say something. At the same time, Emerald’s men outside the door made a sharp hoot to tell her that it was hazardous now. He listened carefully, and his face became cold, “Ver... The Queen is coming.” Emerald was shocked. Why would the Queen come? Shouldn’t she be commanding the battle in space now? Why would the Queen, the ruler of three planets, come to this small place to meet Zach when the war was in full swing? Or had the situation of the war changed? She was suddenly nervous. “Immediately hide in my room and lock the door and the windows. She can smell you.” Zach suddenly pushed her into the room. He then reached out his hand and took the gun from her hand as if he could see again. “Don’t open the door no matter what.” He instructed her. Emerald gritted her teeth and gave a sign to her men outside the window, then rushed to the room with the fuel barrel. A burst of neat, converted footsteps came from outside. It seemed that there were many Zergs. After a while, a light step came from the door. Compared to the jumpy, heavy footsteps of the Zerg, this one’s step was light and sounded like a human. Emerald didn’t dare to look outside because she was afraid to be seen. She just shot a glance to the outside leaning against the wall, where she saw a significant number of Empire Zergs in the open space. Emerald guessed there were at least a hundred of them. They were all crouching on the ground, wearing the blue uniform of the Guardsmen, holding heavy weapons like lots of tanks guarding their Queen. She was finished. She couldn’t run anymore. Emerald gritted her teeth. The ten men outside would soon become the Zergs’ live targets since the Zergs had a very sensitive sense of smell. What should she do? Unexpectedly, the Empire Zergs seemed to have some order not to do anything right now. The door opened, and someone walked in. She heard a soft, low female voice, speaking the standard human language, with a slight accent of Planet Hope. “Dear Zack...” No one could tell her emotion in her voice, “I’m here to visit you.” Zack didn’t answer her. It seemed that this was the way they had been communicating. Emerald only felt scared because she couldn’t imagine what the Queen looked like and why she was so persistent about Zack. “This is the fiftieth time that I ask you. Do you want to be my husband?” The Queen’s inquiry got nothing but silence. It seemed that she had gotten used to his attitude as her gentle footsteps resounded the room. The Queen must have seen Douglas and Foxy on the ground. Smiling, she said, “These are human vanguards, do you want to save them? Don’t you know that it’s treason even if you’re my husband?” “Assuring the safety of war prisoners is basic ethics,” Zach answered. “And, I’m not your citizen.” “Oh...their air raid destroyed half of my defense on the ground and killed millions of civilians.” The Queen answered with a firm voice. “They’re war criminals, and their death should not be lamented.” After a short silence, Zach inquired. “I need to know the situation of the battlefield.” “The war is simple - I got control over the sky.” The Queen said slowly. “Patrick played up front on his own and lost half of his force. Within today, my troops will set out to the Alliance’s planet, and this time I will get control of all the planets in the Alliance.” Emerald was shocked. The Queen sounded so calm and confident, which made it hard not to believe her. But how could she think that Patrick would lose? Was the Queen bluffing, or was Patrick indeed in a predicament?” It seemed that the Queen’s words touched Zach as his voice finally had some emotions. “You look so ugly right now. You deem life to be worthless - you make me sick!” “You said you love me.” The Queen responded, “I’ll remember that all my life.”
