When the Galaxy Wept

Chapter 102 Zack Still Alive

Emerald brought about ten people with her, including Rosalind and President Henry. Rosalind could save people with her medical skills, and Henry insisted that he was strong enough to go with her and wouldn’t let Emerald leave him behind. They were driving nonstop, and someone would provide him assistance for him to walk so he wouldn’t become a burden. The group drove slowly into the mountain along the mountain road. There were many thermal springs in the hill, with steam rising but no human or Zerg insight. They were all surprised and curious who could be the critical person living here since this must be the best place for the Zerg to live, and the person here must be valuable indeed. They saw a white house rising from the mountain forest in the distance. Around ten Zergs were guarding the entrance gate with guns in their hands. The blue empire flag was proudly set up on the roof, which would frighten any Zerg. Two Cheetahs, which belonged to the Alliance, were parked outside the house’s open space. Although only ten Zergs were guarding the house, they were not just any ordinary Zergs. They were huge worms. Each one was as big as a small truck, standing on their strong limbs. Their black hooks were sharp as a knife and their skin hard as iron. Each one of their red compound eyes was as big as a lantern, scanning the environment around them carefully. Emerald heard that these were the guards of the Queen---the Empire Zerg. They were all carrying heavy machine guns. A team like this could kill ten times as many people as them within seconds. “Madam…” Someone was anxious, “Will we meet the Queen?” “Don’t jinx it! Do you want to see that devil?” Another one interrupted, “that devil must be directing the battle now. It is said that she is the Admiral of the Zerg army. How will she have time to spend a vacation here?”Emerald didn’t know what to do. How should she kill these Empire Zergs? She figured that even her grenade would be useless here. She had to think of a new strategy create a new plan. While she was still thinking about what to do next, someone touched her from the side. She was stunned and looked up. A tall, muscular man was walking out of the house. He was wearing white clothes, using a walking stick, and held his head down. He was ambling but seemed to be whispering something. The Empire Zergs seemed to hesitate but couldn’t do anything about it. After a while, the Empire’s Zerg team suddenly took their weapons and left the house, walking to the entrance of the valley along the mountain road, where they put their guns down and just stood there. At that moment, the man raised his head and looked in the direction where Emerald and her team were hiding, then walked back to the house and closed the door with the walking stick.Since the man was far away from them, Emerald couldn’t see what he looked like, but she thought his figure looked familiar, but he didn’t look healthy and looked different from anyone Emerald had met before. Was this man that important person of the Zerg? How could a human issue an order to a team of the Empire Zergs? Emerald led her team to the back of that house along the forest. The window of the house was open, and everyone was squatting quietly in the forest behind the house. Emerald and one young man who was swift and athletic stepped forward and got close to the window. They could feel the warm air gradually flowing out of the window. She carefully raised her head in and looked inside, and she saw two people she knew lying on the ground in a very elegantly decorated hall. Douglas and Foxy! Apparently, the two had been tortured heavily, and their spacesuit was torn into shreds. Their bodies were covered in blood, and their faces were bruised. “Clip-clop.” There came a small sound. The man with the walking stick walked in from the other side of the room. He walked to Douglas with his back towards Emerald and lowered his head to look at Douglas. “Alliance? Mercenary?” He asked Douglas in a low voice as if he was whispering to himself. Although he whispered those words, the voice was like thunder to Emerald. She suddenly started to breathe slowly. Finally, the man seemed to notice her and turned around slowly. “Who? Who is there?” The low, calm voice was very different from the sound in her memory, but it was still that clear, melodic voice, except that it was cold and smooth as if touched by death where it had been warm and pleasant before.Emerald, who was still by the window, came out from her hide and looked at the man directly in his eye. Her memory of the time they had spent together and the help and care that he gave her were like water suddenly flooded her heart. Zach Williams! He was alive! He was still alive! But why was he like this now? Why was he here? He was wearing pure white clothes, which were softer and glossier than any other material Emerald had ever seen. But his face was sharper than before, and his hands were holding the walking stick tightly as if he had to lean his whole body on it. On that beautiful, young face, a white cloth was covering his eyes. He couldn’t see Emerald. This was why he needed a walking stick. “Zack.” Emerald slowly pulled out the gun and pointed at him, “I’m Emerald Wilson.”“....Em?” It seemed difficult for him to call her by her nickname, and he slowly smiled. His sincere smile was warm as if he had seen everything that was to be seen in life. He seemed to think of something, and his smile slowly disappeared, “You are alive. Why did you come here? Were you also captured by the Zerg?” “Sort of.” Emerald climbed up the window and jumped into the room, and slowly walked toward Douglas and Foxy, with the gun pointed at him, “Did you surrender to the Zerg?” She pulled the trigger, feeling so heavy and sad as if a large mountain pressed her heart. “No.” He smiled lightly, “I have never surrendered.” Emerald covered Douglas and Foxy and kept asking, “Why?”
