God-Tier Like System
Gale had no idea why, but his heart unconsciously shuddered when he saw the dark expression on Christopher’s face. A look of alarm came over him, and he quickly backed away. “What are you planning to do? Do you still have the audacity to be a little sh*t while you’re in the village that my father manages?” Gale exclaimed as he pointed at Christopher. He suddenly realized that the weak Christopher, who used to be afraid of anything that so much as moved in the village, had seemingly disappeared. In his place right now was a different, terrifying guy. “Did you f*cking eat sh*t while you were a kid? Your mouth reeks of something awful. You think you can crash your car into my dad?” As though he didn’t hear Gale’s words, Christopher slowly walked over to him. He then clenched his right hand into a fist; he swung it into Gale’s nose with one swift motion, and his movements were a vague blur. Gale’s nose broke and caved in the moment Christopher’s fist made contact with it. Within seconds, his nose turned red and swelled incredibly as blood gushed from it. Gale stumbled backward and collapsed to the ground.“I’m telling you, C-Christopher—apologize to me now. You still have time to do so, or else…” Gale exclaimed in panic, letting out a startled screech when he put a hand up and felt the blood dripping from his nose. “I’m a useless piece of crap, huh? Well, I’m going to pummel you into a useless piece of crap while you continue sh*t-talking.” Before Gale could even finish, Christopher’s fist had already rammed into Gale’s right eye. A large, swollen, black bruise instantly appeared on his face. “Even though you’re the son of the village secretary, you still behave so obnoxiously. I don’t see how you’re going to be able to get yourself up to those pearly gates! Let me ask you this again—are you going to keep talking like an a*shole?” Christopher gave Gale a few kicks as he pummeled him. Since he had controlled the amount of power in his strikes, Gale wouldn’t be severely injured. However, Gale’s fragile and pampered face was already streaked with tears, and he repeatedly begged for mercy. “No, I won’t! I won’t do that. I won’t say things like that anymore,” Gale reflexively said as he continued to plead. Upon seeing Gale in this state, Mr. Yard—frozen as he was and almost unable to form a response—hastily tugged on Christopher’s shoulder. He was deeply afraid that Christopher would cause irreversible harm to Gale. “Don’t hit him anymore, Christopher. His life will be in danger if you keep this up!” Christopher nodded when he heard his father speak. He then eyed Gale coldly. “Don’t let me see you rampaging around the village in the future. Otherwise, that car of yours will be done for.” With that, Christopher supported his father’s weight and went back home. The moment they left, Gale, having been beaten until he couldn’t move a muscle, transformed his expression into a harsh and vicious one. “Just you wait, Christopher—I’ll make you regret this later on.” Meanwhile, Christopher carefully checked his father over once he had helped him back home, and he found that his father was fine for now. However, Mr. Yard’s body still had a few minor conditions. With that, he took out the sterilized needles from the sterilizer. Under his father’s surprised gaze, Christopher quickly inserted the needles into Mr. Yard’s pressure points, causing him to let out a few dull grunts. On the other hand, Mrs. Yard and Samantha exchanged glances from the side before they curiously watched Christopher perform his acupuncture; they kept watching until he had finished. Christopher finally breathed out and said, “Dad, I’ve already helped to treat those few minor ailments of yours, including your insomnia and high blood pressure. They should be completely cured if we do the acupuncture treatment for a few more days.” Mr. Yard was stunned when he heard that. He then tested his movements, and he felt a warmth as it seemingly spread from his core. A startled look instantly appeared on his face. “Christopher, you studied medicine too?” Christopher shook his head in resignation before changing the topic. Once he helped his father up, the whole family started their dinner after that. Meanwhile, Mr. Yard was beyond excited when he saw that Christopher was dating Samantha, and he mentally patted his son on his back. “Christopher, I’m worried that Raymond will blackmail us because you beat up Gale today,” Mr. Yard said in exasperation as he sighed. “Blackmail?” Christopher was stunned at that. It was true that his uncle, Raymond Yard, had been constantly intimidating and bullying his father ever since Christopher’s grandfather passed away. However, Raymond wouldn’t go as far as blackmail, would he?Mrs. Yard shook her head at Mr. Yard’s words as well. “Ever since he became the village secretary, Raymond told us villagers that we’d have to pay fees for marriage management, funerals, giving birth, and so on. He even said that these orders came from the government, but I feel that he’s probably targeting our family since the other villages haven’t had to pay those fees.” Christopher’s jaw hung wide open. What the f*ck? Marriage fees? You need to pay just to get married? Not only that, it applies to funerals and having children too. This Raymond is an evil mastermind for wanting to get money whenever someone dies or is born! Christopher frowned. Just as he was about to speak, a smile suddenly showed on his face; to think that he’d been worried that he couldn’t find a way to teach Raymond and his family a lesson. As long as Raymond came knocking on their door to extort them, Christopher wouldn’t need to show the man mercy. Thump! Thump! Thump! Just as Christopher and his family were in the midst of their conversation, someone suddenly knocked on their door. Christopher wondered if Raymond had come over so soon, but when he opened the door, Christopher froze. All he saw was an old man in his fifties or sixties; the man was dressed in a leather coat, and the hair on his head was a bit on the sparse side. Meanwhile, his face was pale and waxy as he grinned and looked at Christopher. “My my, you’re back, Christopher. Why didn’t you tell me? I’m supposed to care about you as the head of this village. You’re treating me like a stranger by being like this,” the village chief said to Christopher while laughing. Without waiting for Christopher to invite him in, he pushed his way inside. His eyes then kept roving around, surveying the outdoors as though he was afraid someone else would come in. On the other hand, Christopher was a little astonished to see the village head acting so friendly with him when the old man typically wouldn’t step inside their home. He had only been back for a few hours; why had the old man come tottering over? “I heard that you’re capable of curing illnesses; you even know some mystical technique to fix dislocated bones. So, can’t I come looking for you this once? You did beat up the village secretary’s son. As long as you treat me, I’ll help you smooth over any disagreements with Raymond,” the village head said to Christopher after rubbing his hands, his face expectant as he looked at the younger man. Christopher finally processed the village head’s words and actions. He smacked himself on the forehead. And here I was wondering why this old coot had become so polite to me all of a sudden. At that thought, Christopher eyed the village head. He then said with amusement, “That works too. It does look like your asthma is causing you difficulties in your daily life; your skin has a slight purple tinge to it as well. If my guess is right, that’s because of a heart condition, yes?” The village chief instantly became excited at Christopher’s words, and he quickly grabbed the younger man’s hands. “Yes, that’s right. I do have a heart condition!”
