God-Tier Like System
A strange expression came over Christopher’s face when he heard that, and he stared long and hard at the village head. “I remember that heart conditions are curable, so why are you looking for me? I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to cure you!” “It can be cured, but I’d have to go for surgery. It costs over 200,000 for the procedure. Even if I sell myself, I’m just a no-name village chief; I can’t bring in that much money. Please take a crack at it. If it doesn’t work, then we’ll forget about it!” the village chief said, wringing his hands with a seemingly bitter and pained look on his face. Christopher’s eyes remained on the village head, and he didn’t say a word. After all, he didn’t believe that the old coot didn’t have any extra money banked up from his position as the leader of the village. “Hehe, I do have some money saved up, but it really isn’t enough. I still want to build my son a house. You should understand this from a parent’s point of view, right?” the village chief immediately answered with a smarmy smile when he noticed Christopher’s expression. After mentally cursing this shameless old coot, Christopher then thought of his own parents before he nodded. With that, he immediately took the village head’s hand and felt his pulse. Christopher’s brows slowly furrowed before they relaxed once more. Having felt the old man’s pulse, Christopher grabbed a piece of paper and began to write a list of items down. “Get me a bottle of rubbing alcohol. You should also begin preparing the herbs needed. Wolfberries, red sage…” The expression on the village chief’s face morphed into one of joy when he saw what was being written on the paper. He stared at the words on it, and it seemed as though he was afraid that the words would leap off the page. However, he then asked nervously, “Are you sure this medicinal concoction will work, Christopher? Look at the ingredients—they’re all expensive.” “I guarantee you that there’s nothing wrong with it. At most, it’ll only cost a few hundred to buy everything on this prescription. If you think that it’s too expensive, feel free to see me again. I’m happy with being so idle,” Christopher said, temperamental as he immediately reached for the paper. The old coot was in danger of dying, yet he was still complaining about the price for his treatment. When he saw that Christopher was about to snatch the paper away, the village chief hastily shoved the prescription into his pocket before giving him an awkward smile. He then tottered off. After the village head had left, Mr. Yard and the rest of the family emerged. When they saw the village head’s retreating figure, they all asked Christopher about him, curious and confused as to why he had shown up. Christopher told them everything honestly. Once they heard his story, Mr. and Mrs. Yard’s expressions changed. Their village chief loved getting deals and spending as little money as possible, but they hadn’t expected him to gamble with his life. They promptly looked at Christopher in a frantic manner. “We can’t fool around with this matter. If he ends up paying with his life, it’ll be blamed on you!” “That’s right, we cannot take things lightly when it comes to things like heart conditions.” Both of Christopher’s parents spoke at once. Neither of them masked the worry in their voice at all. Meanwhile, Christopher smiled and patted their arms. “Don’t worry, I’m not an idiot. I said I’ll heal him, and I meant it. Didn’t I cure you two?” Christopher’s parents nodded at his words, but their eyes still had some worry in them. A long while later, the village head came running back with a bottle of rubbing alcohol in his hand. Just then, many of the other villagers were curious to see the leader of their village running like this. When they saw him enter Christopher’s house, they went rigid. Some of them immediately trailed behind him, wanting to take a look at the situation that had their typically unruffled village head acting in such a manner. Meanwhile, the village head came running over to Christopher as he panted. Just as he was about to hand the bottle of rubbing alcohol to Christopher, the man quickly grabbed his hand and pressed some of the older man’s pressure points. “You’re still running around despite your heart condition. Do you want to kick the bucket earlier?” Christopher asked with a cold expression after he eyed the village head blandly. Then, he took the rubbing alcohol and passed it to Samantha. Since the villagers were unaware of what had happened, all of them widened their eyes upon hearing Christopher; they all had dull, glazed-eyed looks as they looked at him. Oh, hell! Does Christopher not want to live in this village anymore? The villagers heard that Christopher had beaten up the village secretary’s son not all that long ago, and he was reprimanding their village chief right now. Did he have a death wish? The villagers who were usually on close terms with Raymond all waited to see Christopher turn into a laughing stock, but the village head’s following words shocked them until their jaws dropped.“Hehe, I just got a little too excited, so I came over here quickly. This won’t have any bearing on the treatment’s effectiveness, right?” The village head scratched his head sheepishly before looking at Christopher worriedly. What the hell?! Since when did our village head become so submissive? Although he wouldn’t typically mock Christopher’s family whenever he crossed paths with them, the village head never said anything nice about them. This was obviously weird! Did he wake up on the wrong side of his bed today? The onlooking villagers exchanged glances with each other as they dumbly looked at Christopher and wondered about the situation. On the other hand, Christopher shook his head. Once Samantha had used the rubbing alcohol to sterilize his silver needles, Christopher gently took the needles from her palms and said to the village head, “Lie down. I need to insert these needles into your pressure points, and those points are all on your back.” Upon hearing that, the village head hastily plopped down on a bench nearby and adjusted his position. After taking a long breath, he nodded, signaling that Christopher could begin now. Christopher didn’t hesitate much as he took a silver needle and inserted it into one of the pressure points on the village head’s back. He then rotated the needle. Once he determined that there were no problems, he released his hold from it. He then did the same thing with all the other needles. Throughout the process, Christopher got faster and faster at inserting the needles. He had made some tiny mistakes when he first started, but as time went on, he stopped making any errors. After Christopher had consumed the Bone Broth Detox Soup, his own memory and ability to learn had greatly improved. He could master certain skills after looking at it once, and he wouldn’t forget the learned skill either. A few minutes later, Christopher pulled out all the needles. Right then, he noticed that there was some sweat on the village head’s back; there were some black impurities in some of the patches of sweat, and the impurities gave off a rank smell. Additionally, the waxy yellow pallor on the village head’s face had lessened considerably by now. However, the most obvious change that could be seen was the purple tinge that had colored most of the skin on his body; the purple shade had lightened considerably. Christopher nodded mentally when he saw that some of the impurities from the village head’s heart had been expelled. He then helped the village head up and slowly said, “Take 10 grams of each herb I’ve prescribed you and boil them for two hours. The water level should be about two or three centimeters above the herbs. Consume the mixture two times per day for three days, and you should be cured in no time.” When the village head heard that he had to take the medicinal concoction two times a day, the corners of his lips twitched; a smarmy smile immediately appeared on his face. Just as he was about to ask if he could only drink it once a day, Christopher’s chilly voice rang out again. “Do you want to preserve your life or save your money? Take it twice a day, and don’t try to push it.” The village head’s smile instantly turned ugly, for he would need to spend a few hundred bucks each time he made that concoction. His wallet was in pain from the cost. However, the village head soon took a deep breath and replied, “Yes, you have a point. I’ll go home and boil the herbs now.”
