Chapter 130 Repositioning Bones

Mrs. Yard instantly let out a heavy breath the moment Christopher pulled the silver needles out, and the pain on her face also disappeared at the same time. A look of surprise suddenly showed on her face. “Huh? I feel a lot better now. My body doesn’t ache as much either. Who did you learn this from, Christopher?” Mrs. Yard asked while smiling, having gotten up and tested her range of motion. “I learned it myself. I can’t help the fact that I’m so talented,” Christopher answered while stroking his own ego. If he continued the treatment, his mother’s rheumatic arthritis would be healed in another two or three days. Arthritis could only have its symptoms under control through medication, but treating its root cause was a herculean task. However, the method that Christopher had in mind was different; this was the fruit of Hippocrates and Herophilus’ work, the culmination of these two famed doctors’ legacy. After all, many lost ancient techniques were in Christopher’s head. As long as his mother didn’t keep doing activities that might trigger her arthritis again, she would be fine. Meanwhile, Mrs. Yard couldn’t stop herself from smacking Christopher’s head. “Since when did you like to brag so much, you little boy? Didn’t you say that you’re an amazing chef? Why aren’t you making dinner yet?” When he heard Mrs. Yard urging him to cook, Christopher nodded and placed the needles in the sterilizing box to sterilize them. Then, he headed to the kitchen. Now that Christopher’s various skills had reached Intermediate, making a simple poached fish was child’s play. Samantha stood to the side, her hands behind her back as she watched Christopher chop up the ingredients in curiosity. Occasionally, a sweet smile would appear on her face. She would dip her hands in water and quickly wipe them across Christopher’s face before darting away. Meanwhile, Christopher shook his head in resignation. As he prepared the ingredients, the mechanical voice kept ringing in his head as the experience points for several skills kept rising. On the other hand, Samantha kept teasing him. Christopher was unable to control himself from her teasing, and he hugged the girl before giving her a heavy kiss. He then grabbed a certain body part of hers, making her face flush instantly. Hence, she didn’t dare to cause chaos again after that. Half an hour later, Christopher finally finished cooking. When he served the food, he realized that his father still hadn’t come home yet. Mrs. Yard was also a little frantic as she said, “That’s strange. He just went to check on the fields, so he should be back by this hour.” “I’ll go take a look then.” Christopher’s eyes held worry in them. With that, he left the house and quickly headed for the fields. A few minutes later, Christopher caught sight of a familiar figure. The man was dressed in a white shirt; there were a few holes in the sleeves, and several threads hung haphazardly from the shirt. He was dressed in a very normal-looking pair of pants as well. It was Christopher’s father, and the man currently had a weathered look on his face. With the untidy, white hair on his head, Mr. Yard seemed old and tired. Christopher let out a breath of relief when he saw his father walk slowly. As long as his father was all right, he was fine as well. Just as he was about to greet his father, a BMW suddenly zoomed over from a distance. Without any warning, one of its side mirrors bumped into Mr. Yard. Since he was unable to react in time, Mr. Yard was knocked over from the impact. He fell to the side of the road and twisted his ankle, so a look of pain came over him. “What the flying f*ck!” Christopher’s eyes practically bulged from their sockets when he saw his father getting knocked over. He immediately rushed toward his father and held his leg. “Dad, are you okay?” When he heard Christopher’s voice, Mr. Yard immediately looked up in delighted surprise and smiled at him. But just as quickly, the pain from his leg made Mr. Yard bite down on his lip. “I’m all right. I’ll feel better in a bit.” “Let me take a look.” Having said that, Christopher’s hands quickly reached for Mr. Yard’s leg. He repeatedly touched and pressed it, and Mr. Yard occasionally let out a grunt of pain. Several seconds later, Christopher finally nodded. “You twisted your ankle when you got hit by the car earlier. It’s dislocated now. Dad, please hang in there.” Christopher took a deep breath. His mind naturally had the know-how on how to push dislocated bones back into their intended positions. However, Christopher had never tried this before; he had no idea whether something would go wrong on his first try. Just as Christopher was about to crack the bones back into place, a voice with a ribbing tone entered his ears. “Hey, aren’t you Christopher? Your father got knocked over by a car, but you’re just kneading his leg without sending him to the hospital over here. You really think you can fix him up, huh? I think you just want to maim your father.”Christopher frowned at the sound of the voice, and he turned around to take a look at the speaker. The man was dressed in a suit, and his hair was parted to the side. The leather shoes he wore had a faint gleam as it reflected the sunlight, and it felt as though the light was showing off the expensiveness of the shoes themselves. This was the son of Christopher’s uncle—Gale Yard. Gale said all of that after he had slowly gotten out of his car. Christopher hadn’t expected Gale to have made a small fortune upon his return. Neither of their families were on good terms, but Christopher hadn’t thought that he would end up clashing with Gale like this on the day he came back. He swept his eyes over him in disinterest before turning back. Either way, he would deal with Gale later for hitting his father. Forgiveness was a herculean task, but regardless, it would not stop Christopher from repositioning his father’s bones. Each second he delayed this was an extra second his father remained in pain. When Gale saw Christopher turn his head, he thought that the latter was afraid of him like he used to be in the past. A cold smile appeared on his lips, and he couldn’t stop himself from continuing to mock Christopher. “What sh*tty luck I have to run into two useless pieces of sh*t the moment I come back—both an old and young one. The old one can’t do anything at home, and the younger one is useless outside in society too.” Many people around them heard Gale’s words, and they instantly had smarmy smiles on their faces as they laughed knowingly. After all, Gale’s father was the village secretary; he had plenty of power when it came to many of the village’s happenings. Meanwhile, Christopher still had a look of calm on his face. He then pressed his father’s leg. After ascertaining that there were no other complications, Christopher got his hands into position and then shoved the problematic area hard. Mr. Yard’s body suddenly shook, and he couldn’t stop himself from letting out a dull grunt. Cold sweat practically fell from his forehead in a rush. “Dad, try standing up now,” Christopher suggested after he let out a breath. Gale instantly guffawed when he heard Christopher say that. “I’m dying of laughter here. You really think that this is a TV show where you can fix people up just by whacking them?” “Haha!” Several people laughed mockingly as well. Clearly, they didn’t believe Christopher. Upon hearing that, a stunned look appeared on Mr. Yard’s face. Was his leg fixed just like that? He then slowly got up and took a few steps to realize that he wasn’t in any pain now. The onlookers also had dumbfounded expressions. Was Mr. Yard really cured? Christopher nodded upon seeing this. As he quickly turned to look at Gale, darkness instantly spread across his face. With that, he slowly approached the latter.
