Chapter 195 We Are Safe

Sylvia swiftly ran towards Asher's room and pushed the door open. Inside the room, it was pitch dark, but she could still make out the dark silhouette climbing into the room from the broken window. Hearing the loud opening of the door, the shadow halted his movement and shifted his head towards the figure standing at the door entrance. Sensing the gaze on her, all the hairs on Sylvia's body stood up, as if screaming one thing— Danger! She swiftly ducked to the floor, rolling her body in the direction of the bed where the startled Asher was sitting. Almost an instant, the spot she was previously standing on was engulfed in a wave of flame. Dammit. Sylvia cursed under her breath as she continued to roll. This isn't robbery but a murder. If she had been a millisecond late in jumping away from the door, she would have suffered the same fate as the poor door. Not wasting any breath, Sylvia hurriedly picked up Asher, who was still crying from fear, and jumped to the side, narrowly evading the ball of flame that was thrown at her. Being a flammable material, the sheet of the bed soon caught fire, spreading all over the wooden bedframe. The heat in the room began to rise, causing Sylvia to break out into more sweats. [Host, two other men are coming this way.] Susu hurriedly relayed, his voice filled with a sense of panic. Sylvia was busy dodging the balls of flame thrown at her and didn't even have the breath to listen to what Susu had just said. The ball of flames was like a rain of bullets that seemed to never stop. She could barely even catch her breath, much less talk of retaliating against the latter. As seconds passed, Sylvia knew that she couldn't continue dodging forever, or else she wouldn't know how she might die here today. Calculating the distance between the burning door and her, she swiftly covered herself and Asher's body with a wind shield before making a dash towards the burning entrance. Her heart pounds like a beating drum as she moves close to the entrance. However, suddenly, ‘Whoosh!’ A giant ball of flame landed on the barrier she had set up, dispersing it in seconds before hitting her squarely on the back. “Pff!” A spray of blood ejected out of her mouth, and a tremendous pain coursed through her body. With the wind barrier gone, Asher's body was instantly exposed to the burning heat of the flame, causing the little guy to cry out in pain. Gritting her teeth through the excruciating pain, Sylvia's movement didn't halt a bit, as she knew that it would be doom for her if she ever faltered. Back in the bedroom, two shadowy silhouettes jumped in from the window, their covered faces reflected under the burning flame. “Where is the target?” One, who appeared taller than the second, asked in a deep voice as he looked around the room, seeming to find no corpse of a human body. “You haven't finished her off?” “She escaped.” The man who had been in the room earlier answered in a voice that seemed to be neither male nor female. “The information we got from the client is incomplete. The target appeared to be very skilled and was able to last against my attacks. However, she has already been injured by me and wouldn't run very far.” He thought about his discovery and added to it: “There is a little kid tagging along with her. Should we clean the two of them off?” He asked this question because the client had only put down the young girl as the target. The deep-voiced man lowered his eyes in contemplation, seeming to be thinking about this unforeseen factor. “Let's deal with the girl first. We will ask the client what to do with the kid later.” He came to a decision and waved his hand at the two. “Let's go.” The three sped out of the room, leaving afterimages behind them. --- As she jumped down the stairs, Sylvia hurriedly made her way towards the back garden. But just as she was about to open the door, she sighted two figures jumping around in the garden, seeming to be fighting against something. “F*ck. Why are there so many bees here?” One of the men cursed as he waved his dagger around, slicing through the bodies of the bees that were surrounding him. The queen bee, who was watching from the side, started to panic when she saw the number of her army getting reduced by seconds. Just as she was trying to find a way out, she suddenly smelled a familiar scent coming from the direction of the door. Oh, the master is here. We are safe! She quickly flew over. Seeing their queen leaving, the other bees followed along, sparking the attention of the two men, who thought that the bees were escaping. “Don't let it go! That's an A-rank beast king.” Beast kings are very rare to cultivate, and to see a living one moving in front of them, there's no way these men would dare let it go. “Buzz, buzz, buzz.” 'Master, save me! There are bad guys trying to kill me.' Catching a shiny silver light shooting towards the queen bee, Sylvia hurriedly summoned the bee back to her contract space. Without a target, the shiny dagger continued its momentum before finally crashing through the glass wall, bringing the whole wall down. Sylvia, who was standing behind the door, was eventually exposed to the two men's gaze. She hurriedly turned around, wanting to escape in another direction. But her heart immediately shook when she discovered that her path was already blocked by three men. She looked back at the garden and saw that in addition to the two men, there was another extra shadow standing beside them. Dammit. She has been trapped.
